Whether we call it stress, worry, or just planning - nearly all of us struggle with some form of anxiety, but not Sadhguru.
So in this video, we’re going to break down how you can overcome anxiety (and the fear of being judged) in the instant you feel them. We’ll also cover how you can shift your mindset so that they don’t bother you in the first place.
    ⏰TIMESTAMPS⏰
    0:28 - #1: Reveal your palms.
1:40 - #2: Replace filler words with pure silence.
    3:10 - #3: Use re-framed phrases.
    5:02 - #4: First accept, then change.
7:18 - #5: Stop depending on the external world to make you happy.

Y’all he can walk around stoned, but is that really how to battle anxiety? Because from what I know about helping people with addictions, many overdose and battle with drugs in America and is a terrible way to live and most end up on the streets and without family, malnutrition and sickness.

As a teacher I have had to work hard to stop saying "um" and "ah" as filler words when speaking. At first, the silence felt awkward - but some of my students told me that when I pause, it gives them time to process what I am saying, and it shows that I am taking the time to think instead of just spewing out information at a rapid-fire pace.

When speaking to someone or others, put 100 percent of your focus on them, look into their eyes and engage them, wait patiently in silence for their response and do not speak again until they stop. This solid engagement helps to forget about yourself and your anxieties.

I had to speak in front of an audience (~300 people) 2 years ago in a contest of my region. I have it in video somewhere. My script wasn't long, but it was (and still is) hard for me to learn word by word, my lack of memory is a really big deal. I was super nervous because I'm insecure and an introvert and I haven't been upstage for 20 years (I'm a retired violinist) plus the memory issue. I was the kind of guy who barely makes eye contact and feels late to the conversation. All I could think about was "don't forget the lines" "be at this spot when you say that line" etcetera. I spent 5 hours prior to the act saying out loud the lines.
So... I walked up the stage... and my voice began cracking, I was shaking and invaded by anxiety. I totally forgot the script. At that moment I said to myself: "F*ck it, the script won't work, improvise". I took a deep breath, I knew what my exposition was about as I wrote most of the script around simple ideas, so I switched off the "script in a stage" mindset and moved to "tell this people about the ideas". I (we, really) did it well enough to win a second prize.
That teached me a lot. You can't pretend to be or do something you aren't or can't do. Embrace what you are and what happens to you, step forward and take challenges. Flow with it, don't try to control everything. In my case I opened physically to the audience walking up to the front and I used my hands while speaking more than I usually do, I made clear pauses but sticked to the time I had left (

We will come out of this storm. In the coming days, we have to stay calm and confident. And for sure, we will overcome this moment of despair. How long this will last cannot be ascertained. But the one thing that we can be sure of is that we will not be the same anymore. Hopefully, we would have changed for the better. This is the way of life This is how life teaches us its lessons. If you are in self-isolation or quarantine then be sure to watch my latest video where I talk about the 7 things you can do to cope with self-isolation and quarantine.

The thing with this Guru that he's not mentioning or maybe it's not in the video is that it's a practice he didn't become that overnight. Also I've known some really interesting covert narcissist who do really well. Also that's what he does what he is doing. It's like saying oh that guy he's always fit what does he do for a living , he's a fitness trainer.

Working in IT, when a client calls me, if I don't answer their question in 1 second flat, they say "Hello?"
They usually explain their problem in some way that makes zero sense, at all, not even to them, but they still want an answer immediately, even if my brain is trying to make sense of what they're saying.
In this case, saying "Um" is required.

2:45 for me, I don't have much time to respond in a situation because people just keep talking and talking, and I can hardly get a word in. And if I don't finish my thought in time, they'll talk over me. If I'm not fast to answer, I'm skipped over.

I started meditating and working on myself about 2-3 years ago. In my experience everything said in this video is true. Don't worry about being a failure to the society if you adopt that way of thinking. The real thing that happens is that you see life as a game, because nothing can make you more happier than the love you carry deep within yourself. Ironacally that makes you undefeatable and absolutely stress free even in the most stressing situations for most people. Because of that you'll naturally come out as a leader and you will be successfull in whatever you do, just because you have the ultimate pacience and can learn from failure withozt being emotional about it. It's the perfect cheat for life: stop depending on the outer world, start loving yourself unconditionally and you will be on top, if you want it or not. Best example: Sad Ghuru. He's a super star and he doesn't give a damn about the material thinks his siccess brings to him

08:48 I certainly "joyfully drive" my Tesla Model S, which is my dream car that I worked for, and am very happy. I am not disappointed with my finish line, which was to own a Tesla (when Elon Musk first announced Tesla to the world over 10 years ago). I have other goals too, and when those goals are achieved I will also appreciate what I have achieved and will be happy. This is the external world that we live in (it's reality). Do not dismiss the importance of setting goals and being allowed to enjoy the fruits of your success and/or enjoy the journey of your efforts. Being anxious is a part of the process when setting goals. Is Sadhguru saying "don't set goals (or a finish line) because you will never be happy once you achieve it"? If that is what he is saying, then it means you should not bother setting goals for yourself since you will avoid being disappointed and getting anxious ... is that correct?

Very good stuff here, you guys always do a good job, in youtube you usually have these "self help" videos where the video itself has barely any kind of helpful information, and then you need to buy the "extended course" to actually have any info, but all your public videos are actually very useful with applicable information for the day a day.
Btw, i would love to see an analysis about Neal Caffrey from White Collar, if you guys ever watched that show off course, but anyway, good job!

Wow this video just came to me as a revelation... Amazing stuff, I've been watching your videos for a few years now. I've always been a shy, anxious person... with really low self-esteem... I was conscious of this but I never had the "push" to actually try to change it, until I found this videos. Not only a great channel with quality content, but a person who understands exactly how many people struggle with stuff like this everyday.
Anyways, to wrap up... Congratulations on your channel and your videos, keep the good stuff coming!

I literally do all of these things naturally and am literally a big bouncing ball of anxiety. Pls someone explain?

    • @ES-hr8yx
      @ES-hr8yx 2 роки тому

Because you think you do them. You "try" to do them. Also what you think is natural is probably not natural.
There's a huge difference between saying or even thinking, believing or practicing that 'I am confident' and actually being confident. A person who is confident doesn't need to say it.
So you may think and be trying and practicing etc, yet if it's not absorbed into your being, if it's not effortlessly natural (it cannot be forced) then you've not understood the essence of those words. All you have understood is the words. And words are not the meaning behind the words. Meaning or essence is that which is far greater and is present is every iota of your being. It cannot be faked, it cannot be practiced, It cannot be forced.
Basically, you're using your thoughts or your brain when you need to use other tools to understand and let it be absorbed by your being.
Hope it helps and makes some sense. Check out Jiddu Krishnamurti. He can be extremely difficult to understand but I don't underestimate anyone. Also check out Sadhguru. He's easier to understand.

Great tips! Most of the time people tend to apply what they are taught only when they are already in the middle of a crisis. Instead, we believe in consistently practicing meditation and other tools like journaling, dopamine detox sessions and gratitude (there's so much science behind what gratitude does to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health).
There is no room for anxiety in a healthy mind.

Incorporate better habits gradually. Taking 15 minutes to focus on your breathing when you wake up is definitely attainable, same with taking a break from our screens (phones, computers, tv's, etc.), or writing down your feelings and the things we normally take for granted.
    Namaste!
