I am from BC, Canada and we are just starting to get Texas BBQ up here and it is out of this world. I never really cared for sausage but after trying the Texas bbq style it is now one of my favourite things. Of course the brisket and ribs are amazing too, and the sides.
When the show lets us enjoy them just being themselves, like when the camera panned to Joe making a face when Harry was distracted by the football game and when Harry was just randomly showing off his texas accent, is what makes them so fun to watch
My Dad loved smoking Briskets, burgers, pork, and turkey. We lost him in 2016. I'd give anything to be sitting with him watching the smoker, fire in the pit, and hot coffee and a conversation and a hug. Anything to here his voice one more time and have that moment again.
Goldee’s is genuinely some of the best food I’ve ever had, their Brisket always sell out and for good reason. It damn near made me cry, also unquestionably the best Turkey you will ever have.
First time there, I got the brisket sandwich and couldn't finish. I was worried the bread would get soggy by the time I was hungry again, but it never did. I'm going to have to go back this weekend because now I'm craving the brisket. I just hate getting there early and waiting lol
When he said I think our crew want to dine in on this before we leave , I respect that alot , I thought they didn't get to taste these delicious meals ahah nice job batman and Robin
Re. "globally", the current England/US formula works because they are trying local outlets that they know (or know of), and because it's from their native cuisine. Not sure how successful it would be if they raved about places in, say, Brazil or Vietnam? I'd still watch of course.
one of my favorite british youtuber once said after trying texas bbq, "we have cows, we have wood, why dont we do this?!?!" after trying goldee's bbq. he was amazed how good texas bbq was and was dumbfounded, perplexed, almost angry that the brits havent made bbq anywhere near they do in the states. bbq, not matter where in the states, is something that will always be amazing.
My cousin was a vegetarian for years until she came back to Texas, so you may change your mind after you've tried Texas BBQ. The brisket done right is one of the greatest foods on earth.
Great series. Both of you have developed chemistry that is enjoyable to watch. This episode was much better because you broke it up into multiple days so you could actually sit down and enjoy the food. Need to do this more often
Watching Harry and Joe reminds me of being a liaison officer for British officers touring US bases in the late 90s. 9 states and we are every regional food there was to be had Cajun and Texas BBQ was the favorites
20 years in Houston I've enjoyed Texas BBQ from there, Lockhart, Austin, San Antonio, DFW and more..... it's all soooooooo delicious! Big props to TX BBQ
When Joe said 'Wow they got two in one game' you know he's been following England at the Euro's, Either that or Harry's been talking his ear off. Southgate and his allergy to having his team score more than one goal.
Joe - "I feel like I'm learning about sausage through you, a country where people eat sausage a lot". Harry - "I'm taking you to Germany next, it's one of those 12 countries in Europe".
Fun fact, Panther City BBQ is named after Fort Worth. Back in 1875 there was an article written about Fort Worth in the Dallas Daily Herald that said “Fort Worth was so slow and quiet that he saw a panther sleeping in the street by the courthouse” The article was supposed to trash Fort Worth, but instead, the city embraced the panther as a sign of strength and hope. Panther City BBQ is definitely one our favorites
Finally Texas episode! I love how Harry is becoming more and more Americanized. You can never have too much BBQ. Everyone has amazing brisket, but that last one, you can “smell” that brisket from the screen. Great commentary and awesome job! 🥩 👏 😋
Everything tastes better on the house-made bread at Goldee's. I love their barbecue and the people who own it/run it. I'm also a big fan of Panther City. Next time check out Hurtado in Arlington or Dayne's or Zavala's in Grand Prairie. So many great places in the DFW area. Or try Smoke 'N Ash for Tex-Ethiopian BBQ in Arlington.
Goldees is so incredible. The brisket texture reminds me of a warm marshmallow...its perfect. When we were there we watched a table of TCU frat guys devour a whole, unsliced brisket, with plastic forks and knives. It was glorius.
I've been to Smokey Joes and Lockharts. Smokey Joes deserves highlights. Dallas magazine tends to promote people that beg to have their businesses in a magazine. Smokey Joes is organically promoted. ❤
Harry distracted by soccer or football one day. Pokémon Go! the next. While being privately catered to at Goldee’s, one of the most renowned BBQ joints in the world. Never change my man!
Oddly, although Kreuz Market in Lockhart sort of started the "Why don't we have sauce? Because ain't got nothin' to hide" idea, they have the weakest bark flavor of any Central Texas BBQ joint I went to. But that does not mean that the brisket was bad. It was very good, but could use sauce. Louie Mueller in Taylor was the pinnacle of no sauce needed brisket IMO. Loving this series.
Glad to see you boys hitting Panther City AND Lockhart. I do think you seriously missed out on visiting Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum. Elsewise excelllent!
I totally agree… but I’d go a step further and say Lockhart is overrated… the brisket there is good for a chain restaurant but it doesn’t come close to the best places… and that plain sausage is trash… I almost spit my bite out when I tried it
Jesus, this has made my mouth water! My first real experience of Texas BBQ a few years ago was Franklin's in Austin, an unforgettable experience of flavour and vibes!!
Love you guys. Also, last I checked, Houston was the 4th most populated city in the US, after NYC, LA, and Chicago. Dallas is number 9. Even combined w/ FW's population, DFW would be behind Houston.
Man, this is crazy. I appreciate they went to Panther City, I live down the street and walk there. The food is fantastic, happy they had the elote bowl too.
Two things I will find a way to do.... the very best ramen and sushi in Japan, and the very best bbq in Texas. These shows help immensely in finding a starting point.
I don't think I have ever seen Goldees that empty before. As someone who's been there twenty plus times, seeing them in there by themselves absolutely blows my mind.
❤ the show that "blood sausage," is boudin. Boo-danh maybe pronunciation its truly what some of us Cajuns eat for breakfast. Normally not bbq r smoked although that is great but it's normally steamed. It's basically intestine stuffed w dirty rice. Rice liver and many other n different things. Boudin balls are fried sometimes stuffed w pepper jack cheese. My preference baked n the oven until casing is crispy.
I am one of the defenders of British food, you can find good burgers here, good pizza maybe and other ethnic cuisines but one thing we definitely can’t do is good BBQ food. We definitely suck at that (and Mexican), and that pains me as I love it so much. Maybe we can partially blame the climate and the lack of the whole culture around a BBQ, but still. Finding some good ribs for instance in the UK is a hard task
Born and raised in Texas and spent my entire life here. Never thought i'd be so proud just by watching a British man eat BBQ. lol
Omg makes me hungry from nz :)
Our idea of barbecue in the UK is absolutely dire in comparison. I went on holiday to the USA a few years ago and had real barbecue. Best thing ever.
@@SUSSYMEMES I'm sure it'll spread to the UK. I feel like low and slow methods are spreading around the world.
I just wish Joe had produced a better explanation of Frito Pie.

These two are officially an iconic duo.
I agree, don't watch when they're paired with someone else.
Insider better be paying them enough otherwise they'll end up losing them like Buzzfeedand Bon Apetite lost their stars.
@@Rebecca-dm5ul I’m so glade I’m not the only one who didn’t watch when they’re paired with someone else 😅
Yep. They have chemistry.

Enjoy these Texas episode! They were a blast to make 🤠
I assure you we will
Boudin isn't a blood sausage bro
You guys should head to Louisiana next
@@JoeAvellawe will for sure! 😁
Please tell me you're going to Austin.
@@JonLovejoy They said they were going to Austin in the next video at the end of this one.
this is too accurate with the british guy being totally distracted by England playing

Their* brisket 😎

Food Tours expanding into the rest of the US is a sign they will soon expand to the whole world and I CANNOT WAIT 😭
Well the US is shite so they need to look elsewhere
Waiting for a Japan episode
Harry trying to catch Pokemon while they are plating is maybe the funniest thing I have seen on this show.
Harry is forever distracted yet more composed than Joe. It's hilarious
It was then I realized he was wearing a Pokemon shirt lmao
this show is the titan thats holding everything together. wholesome duo who is just building their relationship as best food friends.
Harry and Joe make me smile. I really look forward to their videos. Pure joy.
Blokey is such an Aussie term, glad that the Poms have started using it
When he said I think our crew want to dine in on this before we leave , I respect that alot , I thought they didn't get to taste these delicious meals ahah nice job batman and Robin
It looks like they both are having a blast doing these food tours, and it shows. Their energy and enthusiasm are making the episodes fun to watch.
Born and raised in Dallas, and moved to LA 2 years ago. I miss some good Texas barbecue! Also LOL at the way Joe pronounced Plano 😂
Lifetime Texan here. It’s so fun to watch people eat our food!
Harry being invested in England is everything, this summer for football ( outside the final ) had England in uproar
I am here for this! Hopefully this is the start of them starting to go around travelling to different places and try different food
What do you mean starting? They've been doing exactly that for a while.
@@bdk2116 Not globally though, which is what i think Zeigler is referring to. They go back and forth between London and America.
@@trigremlin I’m down. This is the best series food insider has by a mile, it’s far better than the fast food comparisons

It always makes my day , when we get a new video , with Joe and Harry , they our such a great Duo 👍👍👍👍👍
As a vegetarian, I’m not sure what my experience will be like, but I’m definitely going to try Texas Barbecue at least once in my life! 🥲🤤
Indeed I’m the same.

Great series. Both of you have developed chemistry that is enjoyable to watch. This episode was much better because you broke it up into multiple days so you could actually sit down and enjoy the food. Need to do this more often
Yeah sometimes I get stressed out for them when it seems like they need to eat four steaks in one day lmao

Harry’s Texas accent! I fukkin died!🤣
As a resident of Houston, I am so happy to see them boys love Texas BBQ and Big Red cream soda. That's the best stuff in the world, Big Red.
I think Joe and Harry need to spend TWO days on these culinary visits. I just think it would be better and maybe Joe and Harry might enjoy it more.

Pecan lodge isn't in the Texas Monthly top 50. It simply isn't in contention for best bbq in dfw.
Harry wins this entire trip by being a food critic wearing a Snorlax shirt!!!!
Great Episode love BBQ and fantastic seeing the boys enjoying themselves.
Lockhart dropped the ball. Everything looked dry and rubbery AF. You could tell by their energy too that they were disappointed.
