Another fabulous video Bill !! Please keep 'em coming, they're the highlight of everyone's day (or so the comments say anyway)! p.s. PLEASE don't stop rambling, it's very entertaining!
Oh my goodness! That was fantastic. I was lucky to have had a tour of the Morgan factory a few years ago and your review brought all the memories back. Loved the humour as always (!), the history lesson and that car, the noise. Wow. Made my day. Someone is going to be very lucky indeed with that car 😊😊😊
Miserable weather. Ahhh....as I'm sitting here in Buffalo NY watching another awesome video by Bill, and the words "frost advisory" pop up on my phone...on May 8th!
Made in England - more of a warning label. Sprayed a mouthful of coffee when you came out with that! brilliant! :) Morgan banned Jeremy Clarkson from their showroom(s) and won't ley him test drive any due to what he said about the company! Regards!
@@dhdove LOL Nice try! I live in Normandy France. INFINTELY better. Civilised, anf far better placed for travel and enjoyment. AND I am NOT in a new petty-xenophobic tinpot country that offends pretty much everyone outside its borders.
Funny, most Brits (or Aussies where I am now) think "Made in the USA" as a warning regarding cars. Jeeps are infamous and most others failed (in terms of reliability) or sold poorly. The current Mustang is an exception in Australia, selling well, and fairly reliable.
A friend from my youth had an older brother who drove Morgans. This was in the early ‘70s. An eccentric guy with a very eccentric family. They also loved Saab. Great review Bill!!
Good Morgan Bill! Another superb video, sorry it is too hot and it is muggy. Here in Manchester England it is 10c and we had snow. It should be 20c at this time of year
Bill, you always nail your car history and its a real pleasure to hear your version of this jaunty Morgan story told in your inimitable style. You never ramble because your a humorous and spicy story teller. I love your weather reporting too and any reference to the cat calling. Thank you for sharing. A fan from Auckland NZ. Go Well Good Sir.
The rambling is what we like. There are plenty of vanilla characters with channels talking about cars. There's a reason we watch this channel and not theirs.
Ramblin' Man Bill, love your videos especially your comment about the jump box for English built cars as a warning label that I know all too well, my Jaguar and Land Rover spent more time in the shop than on the road, but both were still wonderful vehicles.
It is good to see a Morgan! The biggest mistake I made when I went Florida for a speaking engagement in the summer was to arrive with a black suit and tie in Miami. It was extremely humid and hot 🥵
I've got to start digging up the yard for those jars of Confederate gold. I'll call when I find them. Amazing car. Already planning a new wardrobe for it. Something, "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"-ish.
Bill, don't stop rambling its a big part of this channel! By the way I hate heat and humidity just as much as you do, its very humid here in Auckland this morning (about 100%) and it sucks. Love your videos.
I live in Malvern Worcestershire, England and I see Morgan test driving their cars round the town all the time. To us locals it’s nothing special. Visitors say “oh look a Morgan” and we’re like “yeh we see em all the time”😂
Morgan’s are made in Malvern where I live Worcestershire sauce is actually made in the city of Worcester itself about 12 mile away. Being a Malvern local I see Morgan’s being test driven all the time around Malvern. To the locals it’s just a normal thing to see a Morgan driving around although you can hear them, before you see them.
I do like the rambling discourse and knowledge combo and also the weather updates, please don't change that. I hired a Morgan in London about 25 years ago. Bumbled about with the roof and doors off. Decided at the end of the hire to take the car to an automated car wash (no brushes, just spray). Well, I was young and you can guess what happened. Everything inside and out was thoroughly washed, including me! It's certainly a fair weather vehicle. No use during hurricane season.
What a beauty. I know they previously mostly sold Plus 8s here. I'd actually love to see a Lexus 2UR V8 in one of these. If you're on a British spree I'll await all the Caterham, TVR, Marcos and the like. Hopefully. I respect all these small automakers. I'd love to even drive something like a Ginetta road car if I could.
Beautiful car! I always loved Morgan's real English automobiles, also I agree with you Bill why would anyone buy an engine from your arch enemy?! Thanks for this in depth video.
The reason for the BMW engine, this was the first Morgan with one but now all Morgans have BMW power is that a BMW director, I forget who, is an enthusiast and owner. BMW accommodate Morgan to such a degree that when the 4.4 V8 ceased use in their own cars BMW continued to hand build it in the prototype shop (rumoured at a loss) just for Morgan until emission rules finished it completely. Now they use the 6 cylinder from the M340i and the 4 cylinder from the 330i. Would GM have hand built 2 or 3 units a week of an out of production engine because they liked to see them in a Morgan?
I think G.M would. Many Americans are highly fond of Morgan’s because of their old fashioned English look. I’m sure G.M would of accompanied Morgan with specially built engines. Plus your supposed to be buying a English car with a German engine? I’d much rather have a American V8 under the hood. No one build better sturdy V8s than our American cousins do.. I have a Mustang with the V8 engine and she runs like a dream. In the 18 months I’ve had her, she’s gave me no problems, no check or alarm lights nothing, modern BMW engines wouldn’t do that.
Things I look for in Bill’s videos in priority order: 1) Weather report. 2) Bird status. 3) Goat/cat sightings. 4) Back seat size for chipper Canadians. 5) Dalton’s crappy windshield job. 6) Exasperating sighs. 7) Bad song on the radio. 8) Car review.
I’ve driven lots of cars but Morgan’s are always a joy to drive. Have driven the Aero 8, Plus 4, 3 wheeler. My favorite was the 3 wheeler for sure. It’s a joy to drive even at a very slow pace.
Bill you should check German version of Morgan-Wiesmann, looks a bit better in my opinion, especially coupe. Anyway it was a pleasure as always. Take care.
