God, I love Morgan! When I visited the UK in 2017, I had the privilege of driving the Aero Max, and it just felt perfect. Also, the styling, my God the styling! The styling is post-modern design at its best! They took the old fashioned long front end, passenger compartment at the rear, round headlights, side opening hood, etc., and gave it a wonderful modernization. Most cars from the 30s, and 40s had a really high stance, but as Jay points out, the Aeros sit fairly low to the ground. They just look fantastic, they are extremely well put together, they're fast, but they aren't race cars, they have all the essential creature comforts, they run great. I cannot say enough good things about these cars. Morgan really hit a homerun with the Aero, and oh how I long to own one. Someday I will have one of these in my garage, and I cannot wait. Driving an English sports car on cool days or nights with the top off; just a tonneau cover on, with the driver's side, unzipped and stashed behind the seat; with the heater on max, wheezing away like almost warm breath, are some of the most enjoyable moments in a lifetime. MGA or B or all the T's; Sunbeam Tiger, Triumph TR Whatever or Jaguar XK's. I've loved them all. Now for a Morgon.
I used to own an Austin Healey 3000 Mk I that I sometimes traded for a day for a friend's Triumph TR4 and occasionally I got to drive a Morgan +4. Great cars for PA roads but sadly I now live in Phoenix with its long straight roads and daily temps now around 110°. I will say that if you're thinking about old British sports cars with their Smiths Gauges and Lucas electrics you better enjoy working on your car. They are fun to drive, you really feel the road, they have a timeless look and they sound great.
They say God created the Light and Lucas created the Dark. What with the other nemesis of English cars being The Wet, you'd think AZ would be the perfect place for them.
Some people have no soul either. No one reminisces about things reliable, do they? The best summer day I had was driving my Triumph Spitfire from Winnemucca NV. to Reno with my blonde high school girlfriend when the entire front hood lifted off and I saw it sliding upside down in an ocean of sparks behind me. With just some wire snips and a length of road side barbed wire fence had me on my way. There were hundred of trips I made in more reliable cars where nothing at all happened. I don't remember even one of those days. Nostalgic nonsense trumps everyday nothingness always. Take your yuppie BMW Z4M and wave at the other Z4Ms that you see all day long. When you are old you can smile at all the trouble it saved you. Not to mention they are expensive for a reason. Right, Undercover Genius?
Ah yes, I had those great road trips too but the fact I’m a mechanic helped because I could fix whatever went wrong, e.g. duct taping an empty bottle filled with gasoline, to the roof of the car as a gravity feed fuel source after the electric pump died. I’m 70 now and I’m done with unreliable cars so I get my road jollies on a Yamaha FJR1300 with a radar detector. In the 1960s I didn't have any male friends who were not car guys. Sadly, I don’t know many kids today really interested in driving, much less being car enthusiasts. They’re going to miss out on all the fun I had driving 3 cyl. Saabs, VW Bugs, Hillmans, a Morgan where most of the frame wood was gone, a Fiat 600, Corvairs, etc.
I owned a factory turbo charged 180 H.P. Corvair. I lived next to Lake Tahoe Nevada and at that altitude when all the other normally aspirated cars were losing up to 35% of their horsepower, my Corvair stayed at 180 h.p. That put me in the range of wasting 289 Mustangs and 273 Barracudas all day long. Enjoyable times. The hapless Mustang and Camero owners didn't catch on to what was happening. My "fast" "stock" Corvair. Corned well too, because it was a 1965 model and the previous suspension problems were solved.

My parents were quite English (I'm only second generation Canadian) so I appreciated Charles Morgan's understated deportment. Opening the trunk and finding a jacket and a pair of trousers was hilarious. Uniquely designed by sport motoring enthusiasts .... a great car. Thanks for this.
While stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany in 73-74, I walked by a Morgan parked on one of the narrow, stone back roads in town. Coming from the poorest neighborhood in St. Paul, Minnesota, I was stunned. In England the Morgan is still a car you only see from time to time but I see a plus eight every other morning on the way to work in Whitley bay and it always puts a smile on my face.
Love the three wheeler but I’m trapped in the VW Westfalia lifestyle these days. At 73 I may never escape this but I have to say I am awfully happy. I think if I were to buy a classic British roadster it would be a TR3 This is a drop dead gorgeous vehicle of any year, make or model. It just looks vicious. 😳
The boattail! Jay, you always comment on the rear view, so I was surprised that you weren't smitten by Morgan's obvious homage to that classic speedster look. Maybe you were just a bit overwhelmed by this stunning automobile, as it seemed you were, and overlooked your typical analysis of that aspect. I hope that you will add this car to your collection and come back to it in some future episode.

Loved my 1973 4/4 , great noise, quaint sliding pillar front suspension, don’t forget to press the engine lube foot button every so 500 miles to oil the pillars, not too often or the excess oil ends up on the front discs, had to part with it when I moved to Thailand, horrendous import duties, but sold to my nephew so still in the family.
It was a good save, because Morgan may not have meant anything by it, but essentially implied that homeless people would typically be too uncultured and stupid compared to an average person to recognize the make. Lenos save diverted that uncomfortable situation of a guy born with a golden spoon in his mouth and inheriting everything he is to just mocking the high price of homes for why even middle-class might be homeless. ;)
@@kubaprosek9989 That wouldn't make any sense, because 99% of people aren't buying those cars. It was a subconscious knock that homeless people are mostly stupid, which granted is mostly true, but still has bad optics to say outloud as its considered "punching down".

Dear Morgan lovers, The Morgan Aero Super Sport is masculine in its basic design lines, it's classic, it's contemporary and timeless, it's very elegant as was the Art Deco period, it's also one of the most beautiful automobile designs of all time, however, most of all, it is exquisitely beautiful. I have great admiration and respect for Mr. Matthew Humphries, Lead Designer at Morgan, designer of the Aeromax and Mr. Jon Wells, Senior Designer at Morgan. Bravo to you Mr. Charles Morgan for having the wisdom and foresight for hiring the young 20 year old, Matthew Humphries in 2004. I wish your family owned car company all the best, continued success, continued profitability and another hundred years of beautiful motor car designs. Uncle Le😎

What would the Morgan Freeman look like. Well, if the Freeman is anything like MINI "Country"man, it will be a hidieously ugly stationwagon. Nobody will get it.
I never noticed the Mini headlights till now! There's probably more parts in it from the BMW spares bin we don't know about. Still a beautiful car though. I like how they're fully customizable from the factory, they can even spray it in bespoke colours.

i live in Malvern aswell, to prove that you live next to the factory what is the name of the park next to the factory
GORGICHEV MEDIA I actually live inside the factory . I know what the cars are going to look like before the workers even know 😎
In England the Morgan is still a car you only see from time to time but I see a plus eight every other morning on the way to work in Whitley bay and it always puts a smile on my face.
For the people talking about the sound of them sure it is nice but the true art of a Morgan is the styling, upholstery, and craftsmanship
That's probably the most Quality looking cars I've ever seen. And good looking - I get it. Even the wheels are outstanding. Thanx for showing.
Everytime I watch this I like the Morgan even more it hits every wishbone I have.
Omg six years ago, Jay you are the real car guy.
Thank you for bringing this video back to the web
Indeed, I was so in love with this thing when it came out, havent seen one in a long time, this video is awesome. What a beauty.
That is a beautiful car. I googled it and realized this video is as close as I'll ever be to owning one. Still a wonderful car.
Jay Leno, remarkable man, really knows his cars.Deserves an honoury knighthood.
The Morgan AeroMax is my all time favourite design , what a stunning car...
Love the three wheeler but I’m trapped in the VW Westfalia lifestyle these days. At 73 I may never escape this but I have to say I am awfully happy.
I think if I were to buy a classic British roadster it would be a TR3
This is a drop dead gorgeous vehicle of any year, make or model.
I'd love to see a video on the bus in the background.
On the old web site they had completed a video on the bus in question. Perhaps Jay's production team will add it as another classic.
It's shop manager Bernard's bus. 1961 Flxible Starliner. Used to tow his racecar. There's some stuff on the web about it.
There were many videos on the bus rebuild.
That car is absolutely beautiful. Jay Leno, you are the man.
Absolutely love this car. Nice chap it seems like too
He is. I went to see the factory two years ago, they offer interesting tours. He happened to be there outside the paint shop. We were only a groupof three, so he took the time for a chat. Real enthusiast.
Chris Dooley Charles Morgan was ousted from the company a couple of years ago and given a backseat. That's why I thought it was strange when this video popped up.
@@shovons So he was the new Plus Four, then? (groan)
The girl from highschool with the big glasses is now a.....pole dancer. Great line.
Then there are all the hotties in high school who became frumpy and saggy after high school.
Good lord, you people are children.
We're all children, aren't we?
Hoggdoc
Unusual?
I have a place in Vegas...where that is considered a viable career path.
Hey, that's my wife you are talking about !!
When I was in high school (early 70s) my buddy and I use to walk by a company on the way to school in Galt Ontario where I guy parked his classic Morgan (in the summer of course). He also had a Lotus Europa. How cool was that see those cars every day? What a great time to be a kid. I don't know how they have stayed in business all these years but thank God they have. Mark
I have long lusted for this car but financially it is way out of my range; perhaps my son will achieve one.
@Shubhendra Rai Well said sir.
I have the Aero 8 convertible of 2009 it's brill!
Best looking car next to the old Jaguar E types. A modern classic.
Love the Morgan's.they are true classics. They test drive by our house and sound awesome.
I just got done watching both of the four wheel mortgage that you have on your show fell in love with them all over again and the only reference I had to Morgan was an article in the Wall Street journal and fell in love with the car without even seeing it all right thank you very much Jake God bless ! And God bless Morgan cars and the factory and all of its lovely workers and their families !!!!!
Love the guy Jay on the left taking a piss at 9:49-9:50
I love morgans, used to go to a Red Lion pub out at Ingatestone - Essex, and every certain day of the month I think they had a Morgan Owners Club Rally there, because we used to turn up and there'd be load of Morgans just gracing the car park. Love that Aero Super Sport, loved the hard top version too........absolutely phenomenal cars, both to look at and to drive.....although I've never driven one LOL.........but with that BMW power plant..........that would be some totally reliable, amazing experience. Thanks for sharing Jay :-)
I did work experience at Morgan, amazing company to work for
Simeon Bystrzanowski Why did you leave?
@@marshamcdonald1475 He pissed in a car
NeverSaySandwich1. Mr. neversaysandwich
You are disgusting.
(@Marsha McDONALD)-Nobody at the shop could pronounce his name so he had no real mates poor bloke. (spl?)
"Even in Beverly Hills, homeless people make between 60 and 80 thousand dollars a year. "
Good one, Jay!
It was a good save, because Morgan may not have meant anything by it, but essentially implied that homeless people would typically be too uncultured and stupid compared to an average person to recognize the make. Lenos save diverted that uncomfortable situation of a guy born with a golden spoon in his mouth and inheriting everything he is to just mocking the high price of homes for why even middle-class might be homeless. ;)
@@BoopSnoot more like he said that a homeless person won't be interested in high level cars
@@kubaprosek9989 That wouldn't make any sense, because 99% of people aren't buying those cars. It was a subconscious knock that homeless people are mostly stupid, which granted is mostly true, but still has bad optics to say outloud as its considered "punching down".
@@BoopSnoot Knowing about a tiny English sports car manufacturer is nothing to do with intelligence, so he wasn't saying the homeless person was stupid
You misquoted him. He said "In Beverly Hills, even homeless people..." . different meaning.
THE most beautiful car, for me, would be the Morgan Aero. Just stunning!
That sound gotta love a Morgan
its a bmw sound not morgan
magheti adrian lol the exhaust is custom whats bmw about that? if you can't say something useful.............
anyone can modify the muffler. engine sound is king.
SchneiderMan its not just a muffler tho is it? And i agree that engine soud is great but it only makes up 15% of the over all note in a morgan.
man you are stupid ,,so a engine its 15% on car haaaaa,,,,wtf if i take you your heart you can live haaa,,,,my point its a fuckin bmw like a mini cooper ,,,go buy m3,m2,m4,m5 and its beter than this fuckin faliment brits cars
That car is beautiful!!!! I can't believe it's as old as is stated here. Well worth the price.
First Morgan I ever liked.
Hell...I'm developing a full on crush. Gotta start a new piggy bank for this one.💰💰💰
...not a piggy bank!! U need an elephant bank to afford this thing!!😀😀😀
I went to their showroom in Malvern and this guy showed my family around the factory.
Was this video shot years ago?
Yeah it felt like one they had in reserve, kind of nostalgic to hear the old generic opening.
Mystickneon it an 09 model n jay says its morgan newest addition.. must be 09/10.
he sold out he's not Morgan CEO anymore
Yes it was. Jay looks different and it's only 720p. Also, Morgan was still relevant.
Wompie Morgan is pretty interesting nowadays too. They're doing electric three wheelers. Very cool.
Dear Morgan lovers,
The Morgan Aero Super Sport is masculine in its basic design lines, it's classic, it's contemporary and timeless, it's very elegant as was the Art Deco period, it's also one of the most beautiful automobile designs of all time, however, most of all, it is exquisitely beautiful.
Uncle Le😎
Bravo !
Aye, i want one. C'mon Lottery ! ;-)
makes him smile driving it, makes me smile watching it
Looks awesome, I always loved Morgan's look
if I could afford one, id buy one! probably the best looking modern car ive ever seen!
When is the Morgan Freeman coming out?
Tommy V Oh you scundral! You came up with best joke I've heard today.
I'm waiting for the Morgan Fairchild to come out.
It came out almost 81 years ago. You may try to ride it, but don't wonder if you are being called an interacial blue oyster by doing so. It may also go fairly slow.
What would the Morgan Freeman look like. Well, if the Freeman is anything like MINI "Country"man, it will be a hidieously ugly stationwagon. Nobody will get it.
I drive a Morgan Fairchild, it has lovely bumpers.
It really doesn’t surprise me that Jay is a big fan of Morgan. The man has class.
So much more interesting than an Italian supercar
Such an elegant and attractive car and sounds wonderful when you wind it up on the freeway.
I would love to drive this on The Big Sur one of California’s most spectacular routes along the ocean.
One of the most beautiful sports cars in existence. WOW!
I never noticed the Mini headlights till now! There's probably more parts in it from the BMW spares bin we don't know about. Still a beautiful car though. I like how they're fully customizable from the factory, they can even spray it in bespoke colours.
It's called globalization, all kinds of parts sharing going on, between different companies.
+Girl_in_a_Hemi. It's not all that unusual for rare-ish supercars to use parts from normal cars. Have a look at:-
www.fastcar.co.uk/fast-car-news/what-cars-share-the-same-lights/
They were an improvement over the headlights from the new beetle used on the previous models, they looked cross eyed!
What a lovely car. So classic. Reminds me of the old old Bugatti’s of the 30’s
Does it come with a bumper to bumper warranty ?
On a Morgan? No chance
shawoo there's no bumpers so, no.
No, they fell off
shawoo
lol . 1 year or 1 mile,
whichever comes first.
old joke, not funny.
I remember when this video came out. I was surprised how much I liked it, still do
one of the best looking cars ever made!
My favorite car of all time, beautiful, sleek and classic!
mocki rangne you have good taste!
the newest morgan aero 8 is amazing too, would love to see one on here.
Without question a beautiful state of the art vehicle. Like many I have always loved Morgans, BUT I would take a 60s production over this in a heartbeat.
Yes, it's an old car and old video but that engine just sounds the business!!
they still use that engine its built only for morgan (new aero and plus 8)
jay is the luckiest man alive!
Beautiful car
I have relatives that worked for Morgan for a long time! Love Morgan’s!
🇨🇦 we had a lot of fun in the metal shop rebuilding a 60 drop head coup, # 5442
masterpiece, thankyou London England
Duck Man
Thank you Duck Man, we are cousins after all is said & done.....
Morgan cars are made in Malvern (pronounced Molvern) in Worcestershire (Wus ter shur)
Well worth a visit, not just for the car factory, for the beautiful countryside and the history.
Elgar to name one famous son of the county.
Malvern isn't London.
Saw one of these from Chicagos rooftop crossing Chicago river bridge. The most beautiful sight I've seen.
Looks gorgeous and sounds amazing I love it. :]
how nice to hav3e the prez of a car company deliver your car right to your show for you :)
ill take a British racing green three wheeler Morgan pls
Beautiful vehicle
I'm at a crossroad, whether to give myself a Morgan or an Aston as a retirement gift
Hoping to survive those two years of indecision 🤣
Thanks Jay👊
these cars were beautiful, love them
I'm a big Donkervoort Fan, but this Morgan blows them away. A BMW V8 no less !! I'm in lust !!
I really like this car!
The Morgan Aeros are gorgeous, light, and fast. If I won the lottery I would definitely purchase one. Worth it just for the eye candy in the garage!
This must have been filmed years ago. The car has a 2009 uk registration and a now obsolete uk tax disc in the front windscreen.
sonofjak1971 It's a classic episode, Jay must have been busy this last week.
sonofjak1971 Jay didn't combed his hair back then, too...😂
Thanks, in the US I was wondering how you knew the tag year. Jay stopped using that opening format and sound tract years ago.
There were two new car registrations in 2009 one in March, those numbers on the plate reading 59, and one in September the numbers on those plates reading 09. The Morgan being registered in the uk between September 2009 and March 2010.
sonofjak1971 you have that the wrong way round. The lower number runs march to September, the higher from September to march the following year.
Morgan is amazing , any British company that can stay in business is amazing .
Shame they forced Charles Morgan out. Love the car, modern vintage.
I love the older-styled body of Morgan's cars. I wish more automobile manufacturers made vehicles that look like those from the first few decades of the 20th century.
