She nailed it with Confessions again. And that was her last highlight. But she was never bigger, more famous, relevant as a pop star and respected than in late 80s, early 90s mainly because of the power and support of MTV.

      not the first
but the greatest gay rights icon

@@fomalhauto - The truth and fact of the matter is that any Hollywood actor, singer or musician who was using their celebrity and public platform to advocate for gay rights in the 80's was "the greatest" because it was such a taboo subject at the time, especially at the height of the AIDS epidemic. They were a small minority back then and were pioneers in the fight to end the fear and hatred surrounding homosexuality. *All of them* should be commended equally for their courage and bravery to speak out in a time when it definitely wasn't popular to do so.

Kurt: Will you ever go back to Toronto again?
Madonna: No I don't think so.
*performed there literally a year and a half later. 😆

Terri Renaye No disrespect but Marilyn Monroe was not a very strong person. Marilyn always had an air vulnerability, fragility & childlike innocences & wonder about her . But Madonna has always come across as very intelligent, cunning, provocative & she’s the only gal I’ve ever know on ShowBiz to have Balls of Steel !!! Lolz 😂

Kurt Loder is the worst interviewer. If you watch his Breakfast with Madonna interview, he doesn't shut up.
