tell me about it. I had a driver on the shoulder of the gowanus expressway during peak traffic, so traffic was moving at 5 mph, and i went down to try and fix the problem (the ecu wire broke off the batteries, easy fix). Tow truck showed up 5 min before me and was yelling at the driver to get out of the truck so he could tow it. The driver kept on saying no, bring the police order, and the guy threatened to run the underreach through him if he got in the way. I went to try and re attach the wire just to get him started but the tow truck driver kept yelling at us to get out of his way. Mind you, there were two other disabled vehicles on this road, one of them in the center of traffic! Although they were single trucks and this was a tractor trailer. Anyway, guy gets his way because im not interested in fighting a guy on the shoulder of a highway, and he pulls the driver off 1 mile, $532. I get the truck running while hes still trying to get his underreach out. Guys only response was "does my truck say not for profit on the side". Some people can be assholes.
Casey and Aura that is great for you to do. I operate a heavy wrecker for a salvage company we only pull our trucks and trailers we have bought. He came out in a single axle rig that had the power to pull, but since I was running a medium duty at the time, he couldn't hook into my electric/hydraulic system. (Which every trip after I carried extra cord and connections) He legally should have left my 50ft trailer loaded down before we took the downhill back toward Bakersfield, but he said "screw it, I'm going to take it all real slow." Saved me a chunk of money! I had a towing plan that wouldn't have covered both tows. Thanks Aura for paying for the tow!!!

The advantage of those transfer dump trucks (we called them "California Transfer") is that you have two loads for the price of one trip to a job-site, and can get each load into a tighter spot than you could with a belly dump or a side-dump trailer and tractor. Such as if you're filling in a garage foundation with gravel to be spread and compacted before the concrete floor is poured. I drove one in Durango, CO back in the late 90's. Other advantage is sometimes you don't need the trailer load and you just go in as a single dump truck, such as on a shorter haul (you calculate the benefits and decide when to use your trailer load or not to). We did an asphalt overlay on the highway from Cortez area up to Telluride and it was very handy on that job because we had to dump asphalt into a laydown machine as the crew drove it slowly forward. Takes a little getting use to operating it but soon it's second nature.
Irrespective of how the truck is fighting him, it's always a great day when Casey is on the job!! Watching you tow the train home, and seeing the "tail" that you collected reminded me of when I learnt to tow my boat. The instructor said, you will always be slower than most of the traffic, so a kind thing to do is to pull into a pub car park, (they are usually long, and have easy entrance/exits), and let the "tail" go, it only costs a minute or two but saves so much aggravation. His other tip was go around the roundabout twice, slowly, that also eases the "tail". Went round one 4 times, but it meant there was no-one behind me for the next 3-4 miles!!
Nope, other people are not my problem. I’m driving FAR more weight and size down the road than they are, so they are the ones who can adjust their route if they don’t like it.
Watching Casey navigating those roundabouts made me wonder if taking more than one circle around would have that effect. Thanks for confirming that. I suppose though that in this case with such a long train it wouldn't work.

Casey, your kindness made a huge difference! 👌👌👌When you informed the gentleman that Aura would cover the towing, his surprise was delightful. The news that Aura was taking care of everything left him speechless. Thanks to Aura🙏
I've been doing dirt cheap plumbing for a local couple who are trying with all their might to get their shop open . So it was not lost on these fine folks , that I was doing such . They way overpayed me for a job this week , stating that I had been under billing them for a month . I responded by saying that I know what it's like to open a company on a near zero budget . Small mom and pop businesses frequently are running on empty the first couple of years .

You are the type of person that is going to get this country's incredible people back on their feet. Thank you sir, and thanks to your sponsor. Really encouraging stuff here.

Thank you Casey for being who you are. That was a huge tow bill and saved him a lot. He was so appreciative for what you did. Also I would like to thank Aura. I’m sure there will be a lot more people checking into them . Love your videos.
Great outcome Casey, and kudos to Aura for picking up the tab👏👏👏It sounds like that guy may have his hands full getting the repairer to fix the issue, best thing is that he hasn't sent the cheque for the top-end work. After what you went through with the roll-back and the repair shop, you know what it feels like to be in that situation. Loosing the truck means no income for the guy. I hope the repairer steps-up and accepts responsibility for the fault.
You did that guy a solid, fellow truckers know what a financial nightmare it is when your truck blows up, you’re stranded and already forked out thousands to build the truck, let alone pay for a tow bill. Super gracious of you Casey.
Kudos to Aura for sponsoring the video, and my hat's off to you for not just pocketing the sponsorship money like so many others would do. UA-cam is a business business like any other, but you're an honorable guy for not getting paid twice to do the job. It's pretty apparent you're more interested in being a good man than being a rich man.
Great video! I worked at Reliance in Cotati from 1976 to 1980 in the repair shop, mostly installing transfer bodies. I worked with the best co-workers who Instilled a positive work ethic and enormous satisfaction/pride with anything we were involved with. I was among those shouting 9/16" because I believe it's the same size as the brake slack adjusters and we always had one in our coveralls. Saw the trailer had the air assist drawbar (nice) but I carry flashbacks of pull/ twist cables to kill the motor while backing up the truck to hitch-up. My step-dad got me the job, and he also drove the Kenworth wrecker with the Holmes 750 unit. When I discovered your channel, it reminded me of the best times growing up! Many thanks-
This is the first recovery that I have seen that the yellow thingy's on the under reach were facing the right direction and didn't need swapped from side to side. I am glad you explained how the two dump beds on that truck worked since I had no idea. That was a lot of work to get hooked up safely and unhooked on that one. He was so relieved when you told him no charge. That was great that you were able to arrange that for him. He needs hooked up with the mechanic that was able to fix your roll back.
That black suv is going to complain that your trailer didn't yield to him at 33:22. Then at 33:57, some people don't understand when you have to protect your lane to keep THEM safe. A truck driver can only do so much to sometimes try and alleviate the non-thinking of other drivers. Very nice job there Casey and its so nice to be able to help another O/O out like that. Good job and thanks for the video.
I like the fact that once in a while Aura makes it possible for you to do a much needed favor. My current security subscription will end in October and my calendar is set to remind me to subscribe to Aura to replace it. After reveiwing their offering Aura works for me.

C, by you doing your good deed , so goes the easy u-joint removal ! One hand washes the other, I believe the saying goes.
As usual, a Five-star performance, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It sounds like someone screwed up on that engine, evidently it's caterpillar powdered and someone didn't verify that the liner protrusion was in spec.
Worst part is that I wouldnt go to fix this truck to the same guy. He had no idea what he was doing.
Love. Paying it down the road. Not a hand out....a hand up. You THE man Casey...!
What an amazing experience watching Casey! Thank you Aura for sponsoring!❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
I agree with you, I find the day better off loading and unloading versus driving all day.
Casey, you are a very nice person. Always thinking of others.
What a nice guy that was. He really was lucky to have you and Aura help him. He deserved it. Bless you, Casey!
Casey, your kindness made a huge difference! 👌👌👌When you informed the gentleman that Aura would cover the towing, his surprise was delightful. The news that Aura was taking care of everything left him speechless. Thanks to Aura🙏
Sometimes,helping someone that needs help,for free,is a beautiful thing!
I liked the video as soon as you mentioned owner-operator. You are doing a great job! I bet the customer will also pay it forward to someone who needs it.
I always just hit the Like button before I start watching the video. Casey has yet to post one that I didn't genuinely like.
Amazing driving! Kills me how people try to get up next to the rig and then slowly pass.
Those Round-abouts and s-curves show how experienced you are. I have seen drivers with one short trailer not handle as well.
That was quite a sight seeing you towing a dump truck that was towing a trailer!
Watching from santa rosa. Cal.
My old stomping grounds!
Casey, for those of us unaware, what’s the ballpark charge for a tow like this? Curious to know just how much relief it was for him when you told him Aura had him covered. Great video as always! Love how you take care of those who need taking care of and give crap to those who need that too.
Got to say the expression on their face never gets old! You can tell how much they appreciate the gesture!
You are the type of person that is going to get this country's incredible people back on their feet. Thank you sir, and thanks to your sponsor. Really encouraging stuff here.
Man that is an awesome way to help another owner operator out. Doesn't get his truck fixed correctly this time, but every bit helps out. Thanks Aura!
Watching you connect up to the ZL is like watching an episode of the thunderbirds, they had kit like that .
Another interesting vid
I know the sponsor is paying for the tow! But just the fact that you know how it feels and you have the heart to use a sponsor to help someone out is priceless! God bless you and your family, brotha!!
He seemed like a good man. I really hope he gets his truck fixed up without anymore headaches. 🤞
Love these help-out videos where the assistance is appreciated. I'll bet he will return the favor to you one day when one of your trucks is in trouble.
Nice work I would of put a second strap on the drive line can't trust the little wire could snap
Ugh, I HATE when mechanics 'fix' stuff but don't FIX it. I hope he get's it fixed properly. Thank you AURA for sponsoring this rescue! Great video as always, Casey.
That truck impresses me more and more.
The owner seems like a nice guy. Glad to see that he is the beneficiary of the blessings from you and Aura. Fine video Casey.
From another owner operator thanks for making the world a better place
The dump driver seemed like a nice guy. Thanks for helping him out Casey. You rock!
Casey, you amaze me with your wealth of knowledge regarding, everything trucking! And at such a young age. Bravo, young man! You're parents did a wonderful job of raising you. I'd like to see your father & Grumpy more often, as they are a nice addition to your videos. Keep up the great work, my friend!
Your a good man Charlie Brown. Stay safe.
Morning Casey 🤠
KARMA points for you and AURA!!! What a kind thing to do for an owner-operator who found himself in an unfortunate DOWN TIME situation due to recent faulty mechanic work!!
Having been there yourself, Casey, I'm sure this one 'hit you in the feelers'...
the owner seems like a very kind man, and you could tell not only was he SHOCKED when you said AURA was picking up the tow cost, but also wanted to leave reviews for both you and AURA!!!!
That's a WIN for everyone!
I hope the owner is able to get his truck fixed PROPERLY without having to deal with the mechanic not taking responsibility!!!
Safe travels, friend ❤❤
Stay FROSTY...
Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel...

The world needs more people like you Casey. I think that you helping this man like this is outstanding. God bless you 🙏!
Thank you Casey for being who you are. That was a huge tow bill and saved him a lot. He was so appreciative for what you did. Also I would like to thank Aura. I’m sure there will be a lot more people checking into them . Love your videos.
I don't mind a commercial as much when i know its helping a friend, thanks for that
That is the coolest thing ever.. Someone was a genius. They really thought about how a one person company can make the money as you shared..
Definitely a blessing ,Aura. You rock! Thanks for sharing, Casey 👍 😊❤
That is one nice setup! WOW!
I absolutely love your content Casey! You do so much to help the next person which is awesome!
Casey... Your interaction with the owner was so positive! Love this!
Thanks!
Great video! I worked at Reliance in Cotati from 1976 to 1980 in the repair shop, mostly installing transfer bodies. I worked with the best co-workers who
Instilled a positive work ethic and enormous satisfaction/pride with anything we were involved with.
Many thanks-
LOVE THE FLAG ON GAS TANK,, it's about time a PATRIOT caught a break, your a good man Casey, TY for the video, made my day, just say'n!
"... the exhaust is currently water cooled" LOLOL Best is that it's said totally casually.
I can’t get over how cool that tow unit is
Another shining example of people helping people the way it should be. Great video and what a great help you are to others in need.
I like the fact that once in a while Aura makes it possible for you to do a much needed favor. My current security subscription will end in October and my calendar is set to remind me to subscribe to Aura to replace it. After reveiwing their offering Aura works for me.
I tow all day everyday and still enjoying watching your videos bro!!! Great job!!
