I bought this watch, as it goes well with my Gentian Blue Porsche 911. I was considering this watch for a while, and after watching your review for the second time, I ordered the watch.
Just wanted to say this watch continues to have 100% wrist time since it arrived. Beautiful watch. Your video represents the color very accurately. At least on my screen anyway. I bought an authentic black dlc bezel and bracelet to switch it up once in awhile. IMO the rubber strap is way more comfortable. Blue bezel on rubber is my favorite version of all the squares to date.
Same here! That's the same model I have, that's bracelet is beyond comfortable. It's so light, I forget in wearing a watch. Then when I put on one of my full steel bracelet watches, I feel like they're so heavy! 🤣🤣🤣 can't wait to compare it with the new titanium one coming out 👏👏👏👏😁
Why are these so expensive? You can find the same module in the black plastic case for hundreds less. It does the same thing. It has Bluetooth, but stainless steel is not expensive to produce. It seems like a gimic to me, yet people are paying price for a basic digital watch with Bluetooth for crazy money.

It is what it is. It's not worth $450 imo and I would not buy it. But many do. So that is what is running the market.....those who do not care about price and those who collect more watches than they would ever really wear. It's a collectors market. It's become a hobby. Look at Hot Wheels cars. Same thing. Collectors pay $20 for premium HitbWheels for what Is virtually a $5 or less item.
This version has a STN display which is significantly more clear and legible than the resin bluetooth models. STN displays are standard on the full metal squares, which also have steel inner cases and screw backs. Are all these features worth a few hundred more? That's up to how much the buyer values those features. For my money, I'd prefer a GWB5600 resin bluetooth square and buy a couple of steel or titanium aftermarket external bezels.

I've never owned a metal G shock, but that shiny blue paint looks like it will show scuffs and dings extremely easily. I know G shocks are supposed to take a beating -- and my plastic ones certainly do. Can you share some thoughts on that? Thanks
I am this close to pulling the trigger on this gorgeous blue version, but I don't know if I can deal with the negative display. I guess the alternative is to buy an all steel version and replace the bezel with a blue one?!?
@@RandomRobReviews Hi Rob! This watch landed last week and it is great! Yeah, the negative display isn't as easy to read at a glance compared with a standard positive display, but it's still legible. I actually like that the backlight is darker as it draws less attention, and less glarey at night. The quality of the case is wonderful, and it feels like a 'real' watch. Dont get me wrong, I love my GWB5600 on combi, but this feels almost luxurious.
@@RandomRobReviews does this wear better than the bracelet one? I had the silver full metal but i sold it after a few weeks because the lug to lug was just too long for my 16.5cm wrist. I mean the lug to lug of 49 would be ok but the bracelet endlinks really extend the lug to lug because then it is not really curving down. So i wonder if the rubber endlinks curve down better and makes it more wearable for smaller wrists. Really would love to get a metal g again if it wears better on a rubber than on the bracelet
@@hubsistupsi4868 I have a small wrist and can confirm that this metal version with resin strap wears well, and sits well on the wrist. The strap tapers downward at the lugs and isn't a problem.
The full black IP coated squares are great. You might want to secret knowledge of a high quality watch that masquerades as something cheap. Flying under the radar allows you to wear a nice watch in places that a flashy one would attract unwanted attention. I suspect that this blue version looks glistening and gorgeous in real life. This doesn't even look like plastic here.
I loooove the look of the case, but the negative display would bug me sooner or later. I have enough trouble reading a positive square display at a glance, the negative would be worse.
@@dnationapocalypse I have the GWB5600 (bluetooth square in resin) and the backlight is good, but auto backlight is not reliable if you're trying to discreetly check the time. It also only works in low light, so mid-light where the light is dim but not dark deactivates auto backlight.
Are the white marks at the end in the close up scuff marks or dust? That's the thing that's putting me off from getting this. Does it mark and scuff easily?

Nothing new. There are GMT watches with ceramic bezel, nice finish, good bracelet and swiss mvt, sold for 700$. Not chinese. Now, enter Rolex submariner at around 10k. you're paying about 9000$ for the marketing.
Japanese get paid a lot more than other countries to produce these. Also a machine has to mill out steel cases and case backs. Machine time is usually more expensive than the materials.

The GWB5600BC-1B has the same module and is all resin with a bracelet. I use it when I don’t want to mess up my full metal square.

It does show wear... But i think that developes into a nice patina.. a well worn watch looks nice
