I've got the black with positive screen. Absolutely love it. Been wearing it solid for almost 2 months now. Don't need any other watch to be honest.

Jody, you’ve turned me into a Casio fan, I now have a Royale (silver with a black rubber strap instead of the metal) and just recently I got a G-SHOCK Rangeman, I hesitated on the last I thought is was going to be to large but was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t at all.

I have the stainless steel one with the rubber band as well. There have been times I woke up on the morning thinking I wasn't wearing a watch and it was on me. Haven't noticed it being super top heavy yet. 5 days straight I've worn this watch (the longest I've worn a watch in the last 5 years) -- i have 14 watches--

I went a different route to end up with essentially the same model. Bought a GW-B5600BC-1B and replaced the standard rubber case guard and band, with a stainless case and bracelet from AliExpress. Total cost was AUD323.12, so considerable savings from the GMW-B5000G-2DR!
Love the blue against the negative display mate looks really classy.......a classy gshock.....whatever next👍

Was interested in the watch until I heard the price, $500 AUD is about $338 USD. Here's what I can do with that money today on Amazon:
- Solar watch: $34 Casio Tough Solar
- Dress watch: $112 Orient Bambino Version IV
- Dive watch: $106 Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver
- Field watch: $80 Seiko SNK series (803-809)
Then I still got $6 leftover to buy a McDonald Happy Meal.
How about you just buy the Casio Tough Solar and then eat Happy Meals for the next 77 days you man child!

I'm in love with these models. I have the sliver bezel/negative display GMW-B5000-1CR and I just got the black metal bezel/positive display GMW-B5000G-1JF. I'm pretty this one, the GMW-B5000G-2DR will be my next purchase. So far I'm looking to be $1,200 into 3 G-Shock Squares...Sounds crazy but I just love them so much! Great video but it certainly didn't help my wallet at all.

I too have the silver bezel/negative display GMW B5000-1CR and was considering getting black bezel/positive display GMW-B5000G-1JF. what I would like to do someday is get the gold bezel/negative display version and replace the gold beacelet with the resin band from fhe B5000G-1JF with black buckle and retainer. I beleive that would look really unique in that it would be the gold version of the B50001-CR.
Got the black with resin and pos display, fuckin love it, stylish and useful.
Was torn between this model and the Kobe Firefighter edition with titanium caseback for 100usd less
After trying both, decided on the black metal because it looks better, the screwback case is more comfortable in hot days and the light on these ones are much nicer with the fade out effect.
Got into Casio's off the back of this channel - love my DW5600E and now also just got a A168WA. My Auto's are gathering dust in the bedroom corner sob....

I went from a the $6 fw to a $15 to two $20 calculator watch to dw5600 to three 5600s in diff colors (sk, bb, and diff color pastel colors) to now this watch in the silver. Hehehe it'll come in the mail within a day or two. Can't wait.

Love the look! Would hide scratches better than the silver one too.
I've got the silver half and half as well as the full Stainless silver version. I love these watches!, that blue looks really nice as well! They also have an auto light option where the back light comes on when you move your wrist to see the time with a nice fade out effect. Definitely geared towards the serious G Shock collector as they are on the pricey side.
True, How long does the back light stay on? When you say "fade out", are you saying that it gradually dims, as if it were on a rheostat (dimmer)? That would be cool.
@@ivermec-tin666 I'm afraid its not like that 😁Its just where most lights are instant on and off, this one fades in and out. One of those useless but very cool features.
Or just geared toward the people who want a nice looking watch but all the features of a g shock. The metal g shocks are something nice you could wear in a formal setting if you need to. While the resin ones are just a durable but depending on which on you have (such as the Rick and Morty or Gorillaz editions) may look like a toy.

I love the designs and the way the negative lcd looks but I wish they would release some more of the Bluetooth square modules with positive LCD. It’s ridiculous for me to consider buying a $xxx watch that’s great looking and very capable but can barely take advantage of it because it’s so hard to see the screen. It seems more of a fashion watch at that point rather than a functional and usable watch.
I use my gpr-b1000 on the left and my gwg-1000 on the right what do you think, all 2 color olive

S C mine showed up and was very squeaky.. very.. then I washed it and it stopped.. my hinges have not showed any signs of failure.

I'm still hankering for a gold full metal square, a year after I found out about them, and despite buying two G Shocks in the meantime. You're a lucky dude.
I was enjoying this video wearing the black version of the same model. It is nice watch but expensive.
Early this week I deflowered a Seiko 5 Sports SRPD73K-2
It does look nice and less bulky than the regular G shocks.

I have the Metal/Chrome/Silver version with the black rubber strap but this blue version would fit well with it.

I have the GW-B5600BC-1BER which I believe is the same module as this one. I bought it for the negative display and that I can set it up via bluetooth from my phone but it is hugely over priced. I managed to get it new for 50% off the MRP so did not feel so bad but I would never pay full price for them.
Is this version PVD? I thought they were all IP coated as of today except for the Titanium ones.
I got the SKMEI metal silver version... seriously for 12-13$ you simply can’t go wrong.
Like g shocks, even own one, but my Sunnto Traverse Alpha is the same price and does all this and so much more (ALOT MORE) in functionality with sapphire glass. Additionally, its can take the same abuse and I have put it to the test. It's a cheap watch that's way over price, but it looks so good I am still tempted to buy one.

I do possess two Casio's, one being a strange red G shock with a black strap and just looks awkward, the other is a baby G with the cutesy little bumpers and that is kinda clear white resin case and strap and is obv not a blokes watch in my opinion so been trying to palm it off on one of my daughters lol I liked Casio when I was a teenager but the brand just doesn't appeal to me like it did years ago, I suppose I appreciate more a well put together mechanical now and appreciate the fine workmanship that makes it go rather than a robot stamping out millions of circuit boards 24/7 sort of thing.
This Casio is worth spending some more hard-earned cash on. I love the functionality of the app as I can never remember the sequence of the pushers.

The metal Squares have the same FUNCTIONS as the bluetooth and radio-enabled resin ones, but not the same MODULE. The display on the metal ones is better.
Yes, the metal squares have STN displays which are more legible.
I was going to get one of these half metal g shocks at jewelers but the one I was looking at had a negative display. So I bit the bullet and paid the $100 extra to get the all metal one with the positive display. I don't regret it. If you think about it, just get the all metal one or go home. Why have half resin?

How is the negative display on this model? I have a much cheaper G Shock GW-M5610 and while the display is great head-on in well-lit conditions, at some angles and in darker areas it is almost unreadable without the backlight. The function buttons basically have to be pressed with one’s nail because they’re too small. Also, the timer on my watch very annoyingly does not display the present time when in countdown mode. Does this model have all the same problems? Surely at this price point, Casio must have improved that negative display.
Why oh why did I watch this. Guess I have another watch to add to my wish list. UGH!!!

It was a complete impulse buy for me, and I worried I'd get "buyer's remorse" the moment I opened it, but it hasn't been off my wrist since I picked it up. If the black version doesn't take your fancy, I know Marc at Long Island is planning more colours and sizes, so even if you don't get one now there'll be more choices in the next few months.
