Dyno Day for My Cam, Bolt-Ons C5 Corvette!! What Will It Make??

  • In today's video I get my C5 Corvette dyno tuned. Overall, the car made pretty much exactly what I was hoping it would. Definitely a lot of exciting things to come with this car, so stay tuned.
    For reference, list of significant, power increasing performance mods:
    BTR Stage 3 NA Cam
    Headers & X-Pipe
    Stock 862 Heads
    AFE Intake

    Good numbers. Mine made 440/405 wheel on 93 pump. I also got stage 3 Cams and Thompson Motorsports heads and full bolt ons

      Yeah I thought 403 was a little low for that setup. Mine made 432 / 429 with a Torquer V2 / LS6 heads and header-back.

      @@phuz_ you got me beat with ls6 mani and btr 4. Looks like similar mods and we’re at the same Hp but that torque makes me jealous

      If the heads/intake mani/TB are stock, 403 is spot on. I upgraded in stages. Baseline 322hp/320lbs. Headers, Tune, intake 370hp, then fast 102 matching TB and cam (with supporting springs reatiners intake and exausr valves) & injectors 431/399lbs.     Good numbers 20+ year old car that shows you how good the ls1 is. And the car only weighs 3200 . Good job

    What intake manifold you using? Is it a 97-00 LS1 Intake Manifold or the 01-04/C5 Z06 LS6 Intake Manifold?

    Is it tuned on 91 octane? I'm just curious because I'm looking to do almost the same setup

      It's on 93. With a good tuner I see no reason why you couldn't run 91, it would likely be a little more conservative though. I'm assuming you live where 93 isn't available.

    Hey i'm in mid-ohio too. Whats the 1000-1500rpm drivability like?
    If your anywhere near 43040 I'd like to come see how it runs at low rpms and at speed.

      I'm up near Cleveland unfortunately. Anyway, I'd be lying if I said it was great lol. Low rpm driving can be annoying. 6th gear is basically useless unless I'm at highway speeds of 70+ and it can surge from time to time in parking lots and what not. I've gotten used to it and have adjusted my technique for it, but it's less than ideal. That being said, it's a whole lot of fun. If I did it over I'd probably go with a slightly smaller cam, but it's not bad enough to justify redoing all that work to swap a smaller cam in. If you're ever up this way I'd gladly take you for a ride come Spring.

      The more I research all alternatives the more I lean towards staying stock and adding a centrifugal supercharger.
      As-is I really can't complain about the power for local playing and road trips and even the dragstrip.
      When ever I want more power I just rev it higher and can always spin tires in 1st and 2nd.
      I'd like to have the chop of a cam but I honestly don't want to give up smoothness in the 1300+ area.

      BTR stage 3 NA cam, stock 862 heads, headers/x-pipe, afe intake, and the original ls6 intake manifold. Tuned with speed density

    Ouch u could have done better for the money. Honestly and kept drive ability. Headers cam should be 405 or better range 380 tq

      Done better how? I made almost the exact numbers you just mentioned lmao. It's pretty much on par with most cam/exhaust cars I've seen. I'm not worried about it. 🤷

      @@voguishcars7150 ms4 cam arh 1 7/8" headers ghl bulletes vararam intake. My car made 420ish and 390 ish with cats

      @@lilgbz28 BTR stage 3 is tried and true. I run BTR cams in anything I own. American Racing Headers would net me nothing but a smaller bank account. I'll take the budget headers I have now.

      @Voguish Cars brother btr is cool good nice gental lobes. This is what i was making almost 8 yrs ago. Also ms4 texas speed very very tried and true lol
