Agreed. I got sucked into “optimising” a year or so back and saw no change. Gone back to my original basics and not only seeing more results - but also enjoying training again

Main thing, eat more, lift heavy and progressively.
If you've got too much fat already, focus on heavy compound lifts to maintain strength and strip as much fat as possible for a few weeks. Be as strict as possible and burn as much as possible!
When you've got to a lean enough physique, you should have maintained nost of your strength, so go back more resistance training, less cardio and get those calories and carbs in!

Progressive my ass... you plateau in a couple of months and that's it, beating a dead horse or trading the gain of slabs of fat on your frame for a few kg on the barbel.

It’s the intensity of effort that triggers growth and strenght improvements NOT the amount of weight lifted by itself.

Metabolic stress=intensity Mechanical Tension=weight lifted(overall), both important that’s why high volume calisthenics and heavy lifts will be the best for muscle mass and strength. Lifting heavy=metabolic stress.High Volume calisthenics=mechanical tension
Lift heavy with longer rest do full body calisthenics routines(push up,pull up,leg raises, jumping jacks/squats) with short rest periods. Most gains I got was doing 600+ pushups everyday if I only bench pressed I would have like no shoulders chest back or triceps/forearms even biceps get worked metabolic circuits can be done with weight too just smaller weight.

@@user-rn5kg8rv3b metabolic stress has no role in muscle growth, this has been dubunked at this point. Mechanical tension does not depend on the weight because it’s the fatigue placed on muscle by contracting it and recruiting high threshold motor units. And this can be achieved even using a lower weight but pushing it to failure.

It' s lack of STEROIDS, PEPTIDES A 24/⁷ DEDICATION. Without steroids, Arthur Saxon physique is the most you can get if you are genetically blessed and you are lucky to be born in a strength and muscle building culture.

Yeah it’s called doing full body metabolic circuits with light weight or body weight for high reps in lots of sets with short rest periods. Heavy weight are important too but metabolic circuits give you insane amounts of mechanical tension bc of the volume and it helps with keeping the intensity/metabolic stress high which are the 2 main factors to muscle/strength growth calculate 80% of your body weight for 100 reps compared to your 1rm for 30 reps over the course of 365 days(1yr) and you’ll see.Weightlifting=metabolic stress Calisthenics/High Volume= mechanical tension

This is my exact logic. Im not concerned about rep count. I know the difference between grinding and doing reps. If its not a grind. I add weight. IDC if i only get 5 reps. As long as they are mostly clean. I dont obsess over form. But i try to maintain it. Build is coming along great. I see no reason to change it just cuz some weenie says "its not optimal".

High volume/Calisthenics=Mechanical Tension. Heavy Weight/weightlifting=metabolic stress. Calculate the amount of weight you do in a year doing 100 pushups a day compared to your 1rep on bench for 30 reps everyday
