I worked on this show for a short time. This is my favorite memory of any guest. Ernest Borgnine was told’ “You don’t have to say or do anything’ we just want you to sit and enjoy.” He LOVED it. I have never seen a guest have more fun.
I want to believe this and so I do.
This is an epic episode too!
Bet he just got the coffee
@@unknown10391 Me? Sort of. I was in costumes, but I didn’t actually do anything super interesting with them because I wasn’t involved in getting them on or off the actors. I just set evwrything between scenes ao all the parts were ready to go. Very little cast interaction.
That's so cute 😍 😭 lol.
Morgan Freeman looks like, "I can't believe they got me on here." Ernest Borgnine looks like he's at a carnival!!
teneka wyatt and loving it. I laugh every time I watch these
Ernest Borgnine was just enjoying himself!!!! 😀😀😂😂😂
i feel like MF has too much dignity for this nonsense... like some SNL skils are so juvenile it's cringy
Freeman was just acting, lol, he knew the script, he wouldn't come to SNL if he didn't like the skit
@@ljp9402 Being offended is what he's supposed to look like. Haven't you seen these skits before? That's the gag. Although having Cranston's junk in his face may have been a bit much.
The look of disbelief and disgust on Morgan Freeman's face is gold and Ernest Borgnine was enjoying every minute. Pure fun!
I totally agree
What a great actor
only black man in the room dont like it big suprise
I think that look of unbelief and disgust from Morgan Freeman may have been genuine.
Yeah, as soon as Kenan shows up dancing with that geri curl wig, Freeman was like "Oh, my... God!!!"
Watching Jason jump into frame never gets old.
First time I've seen these,he buckled me, his dancing is awesome
And he never stops dancing. It’s honestly impressive! 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽
@@brittdei looked like he was channeling Dan Ackroyd
NEVER
This is the Ted Lasso victory dance
Borgnine wasn't even pretending.... he was loving it!! 👍
Agreed!
From the start!!
He thought he died and went to heaven..
MisterHot I just that love he had such a great sense of humor , Even when he did mermaid man on spongebob
Ernie is a legend
What made this for me was Ernest Borgnine's fantastic "I'm loving every second of this!" face :') He didn't stop grinning the entire sketch
so glad other's noticed that as well... made me smile too :-)
+Antonio A. Same here! Just the sweetest smile!
I like how Morgan Freeman's the complete opposite, he stays in character the whole time!
Pyfacefornever that would be me also if i were ever in such a show xD
Agreed. Very cute :)
Ernest smiling and being quiet the whole sketch and then busting out with an emphatic “YES SIR” when he gets called a 93 year old sex machine is the best
For a man who has seen everything and served his country proudly during WW2 before even coming to Hollywood, my guy Ernest Borgnine's smile is burned in my soul. RIP to a real legend.
A true American hero and legend
Dutch!!!
Not to mention the voice of Bikini Bottom’s greatest superhero, Mermaid Man!
He's gone now, but the cutest thing was when Kenan says "93-year-old sex machine, Ernest Borgnine", and Ernest replies "YES, SIR!"
Brandon Davidson I swear when I saw Ernest I said in my head, I bet he still got 😼!
Earnest was with it. Lol
Adorable
Ernest couldn't keep the smile off his face. I, too, could only think "adorable"
Morgan was acting. That's what he does.
The smile on Ernest Bourgnine's face! He loved it!
Bryan Cranston is nuts!
Bryan Cranston made me laugh out loud
Also Brian Cranston's nuts...
Agreed..... Bryan Cranston is seriously nutz.
N sexy!
Bryan looked like he was channeling Janis Joplin!
This skit shows you how talented and funny Kenan Thompson is. Between the singing, dancing and the joke telling it was quite a exhausting workout for Kenan. Not many comedians could pull this skit off.
Let’s not overlook Jason’s dancing skills
Next tonight show host!!
He's brilliant
He's the best on SLN hands down and that dancing dude is funny too.
It's almost exhausting to just watch.
The contrast between Ernest Borgnine's outright, unbridled JOY
and Morgan Freeman's look of "What da HELL?" is TV GOLD!
You know why Ernest Borgnine was smiling the whole time? Because he, in real life, was that kind of guy. Super nice, super fun. RIP Ernie!!!
Great name! Why no crust?
I had the pleasure of meeting Ernest Borgnine several times and you are absolutely right about him.
He probably couldn't believe the nuttyness going on in front of him...
He was a very friendly and warm guy. Always smiling and laughing. He was good at playing tuff guys but in real life he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. Total class act.
Very true. He was the guest of honor at a Navy recruit graduation around 1991. He was the nicest guy and truly honored to be there. He loved the Navy and the Sailors. He didn’t just play a Chief Petty Officer on TV, he was a Chief during WWII. Great dude.
Fun fact: Jason Sudeikis was born wearing a red track suit and gold chain. No doctor aided in the delivery, he simply jumped out and immediately broke into the running man.
😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
#TheMoreYouKnow
HAHAHHJAJAJHH
He reminded me of a jogger, from the mid 1980s. Lol.
Baby doin' the running man!
Baby doin' the running man!
Aside from Kenan being an absolute genius in these sketches; I always look for Jason to jump on stage, slay his dance moves and the way he walks off, kills me every time lmo
😂😂😂 this actually made me pay attention to that this time
Priceless love love his dance moves ❤
I like Jason's part every bit as much as I do kenans in this sketch. It's freaking hilarious all the way around
Thé way Jason blissfully dances to some other tempo than what the band plays
Morgan Freeman with his “I’m so over this” face while Ernest Borgnine is in pure heaven 👍😂❤️
Freeman was acting ;)
Facts 👌🏾😂😂😂
Jason Sudeikis as the running guy is funny as hell.
right on
not at all imo I hate his face
I can't stop looking at him
That slow mo soooooo funny
Liam Redmond the world
If we all had a smiling Ernest Borgnine 24 hrs/day, there would be no problems in the world.
Zig so true
Zig How True !
So true, it’s so sweet
Yes!!
You said it!
I love how Brian Cranston strolled over to Morgan Freeman at the end and he just cracked up, makes me laugh at the time 😂
Watched this a zillion times and I just saw that!! Thanks for pointing it out 👍🏼
I'm gonna join everyone else in saying: Borgnine is adorable in this.
Yes. I was coming here to say this. He didn’t stop grinning the whole time
He really is! And I see someone else is stepping back a bit to enjoy these 10 yr old clips!
@@spacenerd9499 It's everyone's algorithm from seeing SNL reprise the skit 😊
@@dcool2u2 damn the algorithm! 🤣🤣
He really is lol he just smiling don’t know wats going on lol
I really love the way Mr. Borgnine enjoys every second of the show.
He was 93, at that age you have no other choice that enjoying every second you have.
@@jackprescott9652 well said.
Morgan Freeman: “What our schools lack is empowerment..”
Keenan: 👀
🤣🤣💀
Dude!!! That emoji is totally Keenan!!!!
The hihat starts clickin 🤣🤣
FAMily founDAYshun
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
To me, Jason Sudeikis absolutely selling it hard in the background is mesmerizing. Jumping into frame, dancing at a trot but then speeding up or slowing down with Kenan, and then strutting bizarrely offstage. He does a little bit of this in Ted Lasso. Kills me!
Yes, every time he jumped into frame, I cracked up!
His running man is top notch.
Jason Sudekis jumping into the frame gets me every time. Dudes got some athleticism. 😂
legendary 😂
love love his dance moves never gets old
Holy crap Ernest Borgnine can't stop smiling throughout the skit. This is just epic.
He is my moms age
@@cherylcaardillo1702Ernest knows this sketch is funny and hilarious, he's been acting over 70+yrs
Yes sir!!!
@@gooseman1011 🤣🤣
Ernest Borgnine’s obvious enjoyment at this whole thing is so wholesome❤️
Ernest Borgnine’s expression of absolute delight is the best!
The contrast between Freemans and Borgnines reactions is hilarious.
whoever convinced Morgan Freeman to sit there while Bryan Cranston is waving his junk in front of his face, deserves a freakin medal.
I can't even imagine how morgan was feeling at that point
😂 😂 😆
😂😂💀
👏🏽😂👏🏽😂
Lmao. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is why Ernest Borgnine has always been one of my favorite actors. He's genuinely thrilled to just be there. Laughing the whole time 😁
RIP Mr. Borgnine 1917-2012 😟
Lemmy K. Is God I watched it so many times because his reaction was priceless.
I was introduced to him on Airwolf as a kid. One of my favorite shows.
@@ashlieh Have you also noticed that the lead sax is prominent in the background of SNL monologues as the barometer of funny? It's often the background action, the throw-away lines, and the steadfastly solid comedic talents like Keenan that don't get celebrated enough. Been watching him since my daughter watched him on All That, and ever since, he is really a gem, and this sketch is pure joy. Need I mention Jason?
My favorite part: “Now if you’re eating the school lunch, you better stay away from that rectangular pizza. You know why? Because it is nasty, yeaaah, ye, yeeeah.”
Ernest Borgnine was having the time of his life. Such an amazingly positive, fun loving attitude.
Real shit, he was so happy throughout the whole show 😂
Ernest is laughing his ass off the whole time... brilliant!!
I don't think I've ever seen another "guest" who seemed as entertained as Ernest Borgnine is here. And Morgan seems genuinely shocked by it all.
AlexanderNevermind To quote another SNL alum, Jon Lovitz, “Acting!” At least I hope he was. Otherwise he had one of those
“Dad’s pissed, better clear the room” looks. Heck, I was ready clear out myself.
Robin Williams was also really entertained when was guest
funnymom7 right at the end of the sketch when you can see Brian Cranston dancing towards Morgan, you can see Morgan finally drop the act and burst out laughing. He definitely enjoyed it.
I think Morgan is just a great actor - I'm sure he's loving it too. Who wouldn't??
I find it weird that Mirgan Freeman would find it strange, since the 1970s version of The Electric Company was slightly crazier than SNL (though that can be excused, as the OG Electric Company is a kids show).
jason sudeikis jumping in during the "ooooooo weeeee" part just to do the running man is SEVERELY underatted😂
4:08 5:12 5:51 7:19
The walk off the stage is also pretty funny
🤣🤣🤣🤣 so funny and don't forget the walk off
Yup I'm dead 🤣☠
I get out of breath just watching him.
@@bridgethannah2933 couldn't do it in my 30s, definitely not my 50s :)
Omg! I love Ernest Borgnine expression of “I DON’T KNOW WHAT”S HAPPENING BUT I LOVE IT!
The band are the real pros here. Keenan came in super early at the beginning, and they adjusted almost immediately.
heard that too
Always follow the singer...unless you're playing with tracks then fuck em 🤣 The real MVP is the keys player who was just bang on in coming in when Keenan was talking to Morgan Freeman.
That was smoooooth, real pro's
He actually just drug out 'morning' to find the beat. That was all keenan
@@joshyaash He was early from the word "I".
Lmfao I’m dying. When he said let’s slow this thing down and the guy in the red track suit starts slowing it down 😭😭😭 @4:25
It’s the best bit
This part. Especially Bryan Cranston & Jay Pharaoh as Doo Doo Man & Squeaky.
Just seent it 💀💀💀💀
That kills me when he does that! He even slows down the changing goify facial expressions 🤣.
😭😭😭😂😂
Brian Cranston, Ernie Borgnine and the SNL regular guy dancing his heart out the whole time. Loved every second of the skit RIP Ernie Borgnine 💘💝🥰❤️💞
The look on Mr. Freeman's face says it all! Lol It was great for those two legends to participate but this sketch was BRILLIANT!
Whenever Kennan decides to leave this ABSOLUTELY MUST be his last Skit on his last episode. Bill Hader and Armisen, and Sudeikis HAVE to come back for the skit..!!! It wont be right if he leaves and doesn't do this again.
You are 100% correct lol but hes still young so I hope hes there for at least another 5 years
I have said the same thing! It needs to go for AT LEAST 30 min and should try to break a world record for the most cameos in the shortest amount of time.
Dude Kenan is never leaving. He'll stay on SNL till the day he die and after that as the cool friendly ghost.
Kennan for president!
And have Hader in the first seat and when he's about to speak Kennan says "well we're out of time" 😂😂
Morgan looking like....that check better clear
It was all good before they messed up and let that white man come out there in his drawers and start poppin his dingaling in Morgan's face. He was mad 😡 as he should be.
That's the part of the joke.
Dee Cee hes in on the joke, hows that not obvious to you?
hahaha you think this is real? it's not like the eric andre show, it's all just a scene.
Stephan Pendarvis Hahahaha
"What's Up With That" is always fun to watch. The look on Morgan Freeman's face is saying "What's up with this crap"😂😂
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ernest Borgnine's smile makes me think he wasn't at rehearsal, and this was his first time experiencing this chaos... and loving every second.
as good as this one is, Ernests smile steals the whole thing!
Owen Gold the reason why you like it from Ernest is because you sense the realness behind his smile. Class Act from a different era. All this other stuff is fake.
Owen Gold he probably thinks it’s a real thing
Whoever came up with this "What's up with that" sketches is a genius.
It's based on a real show
@@bartadamson6811 oh really? Thanks. Didn't know that. What show is it based on?
I'm watching all the clips and laughing like I've never seen them before 😂😂😂😂
I wish he made like a hundred of these. Never gets old for me anyway.
Kenan is just brilliant at playing characters! A writer's dream
Earnest Borgnine Smiling ear to ear the entire time ❤ This was 2013 he passed away halfway through 2015 only 1.5 years later.
This was not his final piece at acting he did a movie and he was 95 when he died.
He’s a happy guy! I just admire it!
Ernest Brognine happiness and cheerful attitude makes this video one of my favourite SNL skits. He was just having a great time
Kenan Thompson is legitimately good at singing.
Man Ernest Borgnine was smiling through the whole video and that made me happy. R.i.p Ernest Borgnine ( Jan 24 , 1917 , - jul 8 , 2012 , )
Relation to Lee Van Cleef? Cool photo of Lee, who was an awesome actor.
Wayne J yes I am his grandson but some people think I’m a fake but I’m not and thx he truly was a great actor.
Me too
Yeah, a true legend.
Ernest Bourgnine's face! His smile is so infectious. He's having so much fun.
Jay Pharaoh’s Bootsy Collins impression is just unbelievably good here.
That wasn’t Bootsy?!
I also thought it was supposed to
be William "Bootsy" Collins. 🤔 🤓🤔
Bryan Cranston dancing at Mr. Freeman's side is so funny he had such a straight face. 😂😂😂😂
Cranston outta control, I love this man cause he's living his dream doing his thing
My sister did our genealogy and found out he is a very distant relative of ours!! Wild! Always loved him!!
Mr. White? Really? What a combo of characters?
Oh my goodness! I did not realize that was Brian Cranston aka Walter White, until I read this comment LOL!

Ernest Borgnine is one of my favorite actors and Morgan Freeman is superb these two legends sitting side by side on SNL is a memory the cast will hopefully cherish forever

He almost stole the show

His name is Dason Judekis.
Morgan Freeman’s acting was pure classically awesome. I love this SNL clip
When Keenan started singing “go Mary” I lost it 😂😂😂
Ernest face contrasted with Morgan’s in the one shot was hilarious!!!
Jason jumping onto the stage like a crazed man is too funny!
That jump every time! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jason going SloMo is awesome
Never get tired of him doing the running man and dancing in slow motion.
Morgan is looking at them like "these FOOLS!" 🤣🤣
I love the growth of Kenan Thompson. He completely owns everything he does.
I'll never understand those that think he's a one-trick pony. He's awesome.
Leslie Jones is a one-trick pony.

Keenan carrying SNL
Yes he is
Lindsey looking like here we go either the BS again
We gonna have to cut your song 😂😂 You my best friend tho 😂😂😂
2024 and he still on SNL ❤❤❤
Morgan is like 'what have I become' 😂
That Guy a menace to society
I was wondering the same thing; Morgan Freeman played DJ Mel Mounds and Easy Reader on The Electric Company; I'd have thought he'd be really into this!
@@bobdavis4848 It seems like he was til' Kennan cut him off and it got silly.
@@calidrummer2362 You mean it got even sillier. :-) That's the way it goes in all these What's Up With That sketches... only the first guest gets to even start their serious spiel, then the music starts again, thrilling Kennan, and the guest tries to continue but basically fails, then Kennan chooses bits they say as lead in to singing (if that's what it is) again and the guest is totally out of luck... I suspect Morgan knew he'd get precious few seconds to talk education but went for this skit due to that and the brief Lean On Me movie plug.
Very very funny
Morgan Freeman was cracking me up with those “I’m not impressed with all this tomfoolery...what’s up with THAT??” expressions on his face🤣‼️ 2:46 4:15 4:48 6:43
Lmao with his legs crossed and just staring at Kenan. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the funniest recurring skits on SNL. I never tire of it
Life goal: Be more like Ernest Borgnine
Im convinced the Ernest believed hes in a real TV show
Dev Happy For real! He was smiling and looking entertained the entire show!
Dev Happy he's just entertained by Kenan because Kenan is hilarious.
You're 100% correct! I heard right after this he called his agent and said he only wants to do shows on BET!

Ernest Borgnine looks like he loved it SO much! I bet he hasn't seen anything this strange since playing Cabby in Escape from New York 🤣
I always like Jason Sudeikis dancing in the background. Ernest Borgnine just sitting there 😊 is priceless.
Ernest Borgnine Is cracking up through the whole thing and Morgan is like what the hell am I doing here? Lol

This is seriously one of the most creative and original skits I have ever seen on Saturday night live! Just hilarious!!
Jason in slow-mo has me crying every time 😂😂😂
SNL please bring this sketch back!!!! Its amazing!!!
Roberta Las Casas just watch all the old ones, it’s the same premise everytime with 2 different celebrities
Um, everyone knows that. But the setup is always different: There’s a Christmas one, a back-to-school one, etc. Therefore, the theme is different each time. I think Roberta is saying “we want more themes.”
Roberta Las Casas I know lol
I think they try not to do a sketch more than 10 times. Kinda like how Nickelodeon/Disney would order only a certain number of seasons of any given show
Just gotta wait until Bill Hader guest hosts
i just love how morgan freeman's play along and makes the exasperated face. and legend, ernest borgnine, i think was just happy to see the sketch unfold with him on the stage. he just couldn't keep the smile out of his face.
and bryan cranston was hilarious. i love hosts who dun mind going along with these outrageous gags.

Red Bex Looks like the Adidas logo to me
Ex Rodriguez that’s my fav part, then watching him walk off like George Jefferson
Ex Rodriguez That’s Jason Sudeikis! 🤘🏽
Sudeikis when Keenan said they were going to slow it down😂
Ernest Borgnine doesn't realize he's in a skit. He's just taking in the show. Morgan Freeman thinking: "WTF am I doing here?"
Longing for his days as "Vincent the Vegetable Vampire" perhaps.
Began watching, did not expect Bryan Cranston. 11/10.
Am I the only one who was just watching Jason the entire time?
His moves are so freaking hypnotics !
Almost disliked trying to say no. Lol

Man I love that everyone else loves Sudeikis as the running man as much as I do. Don't know why, it's just that hysterical to me 😂😂
He's a definite highlight of this sketch. He brings all of his energy the entire time, balls to the wall.
It’s the way he jumps in that really sells it. Like he launched off a trampoline into the studio solely to running man.
@@moviebad109 I was about to say that too! The jump ins are just so perfect!
