@@harrymothowl8923 Austin Butler hosted around Christmas last year. He had a Wonderful Life themed sketch that was on par with this. Nothing political, just wonderful writing and acting.
Not to sound prudish but I truly appreciate a comedian who’s hilarious without dropping f-bombs every minute and talking about crude things! Nate is an example of someone who is successfully funny just by talking about everyday things that people can relate to! His deadpan humor just cracks me up! 😂🤣😂. Soooo happy and proud of him hosting SNL!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I don't think you sound prudish at all. There are so many other words in the English language without the majority of someone's act being curse words and crude jokes.
He once said people would ask him in interviews why he decided to be a “clean comedian”. He was like, “I didn’t.” He is just being himself. Like do they ask other comedians, “why did you decide to be a raunchy comedian?”
Agreed! Crude humor is cheap humor, it’s like watching a jr high kid on steroids & people laugh because it’s so awkward. It takes a true comedian to bring it clean & classy…way to go Nate 👏
His delivery in the Washington sketch, the delivery that we all kinda know…..he killed it. He was so funny. So good. I’m happy for him. He seems like a good guy.
I was at that show in Wichita and he did an awesome set! He let everyone know he was on Benadryl, but his style is pretty laid back anyway so you couldn't tell a difference. Glad he still went on and killed it!
I never even heard of this guy until he was on SNL, and even then I didn't watch the show, just one SNL skit on UA-cam a couple months later. He's awesome and I'm hooked! I've been watching his videos ever since.
Nate really deserves all of the recognition he is finally getting. I had tickets to a show last Feb and we got a flat tire in a snow storm and missed the show. I emailed his assistant and she told us to pick any show we wanted to attend even if it was sold out and she left my fiancé and I two tickets to the Knoxville show with better seats than I had before, and threw in two meet and greet passes. There were only maybe seven or eight people with meet and greet passes and we got to talk with Nate back stage and it was such an enjoyable memory. He was so humble and kind.
Nate it’s hilarious! Once I saw him in his first Netflix appearance, I was hooked. Plus, he seems so genuine and with no airs. I’m so happy he’ll be on SNL. He deserves it. When my sister was going through treatment for cancer, we watched a lot of Nate and it helped both of us. Thank you!
I was at the Wichita show. The first minute I was like……is he drunk?!? Surely not. Then he told us the allergy story and it all made sense. Still a great show!
Right? I love these two so much as stand-up comedians that to see them having a conversation together that is easy and natural like old friends just feels warm and comfy. Perfect vibe. Gezellig.
@@kimclarke5018 Also…fyi…his specials are good too. The older standup (w/ the baby face) is ok, but the crowds don’t seem to “get him” yet. You can see he’s developing.
I'm so happy to see Nate gain the recognition he deserves. The only comedians I know are basically whoever Conan's staff brought on to perform, and I'd take note of standouts. This one has been a long time coming! Grats Nate!
If only I had a dollar for every time I’ve watched the “My wife is the man of the house” bit. He’s naturally funny and seems like such a good guy. Hope SNL has him back.
Nate is one of the few comedians where I can watch the same special over and over and laugh like I am watching it for the first time. The stuff he makes fun of and the way he tells stories is like the way I think in my brain when crazy, nearly unbelievable crap is happening to me or around me, because other people are doing stuff. it's like he's in my head. But funny. I can't wait to watch this!!!!
I often put on one of his specials just as happy background noise. (Similarly as with Lobby Baby). I've seen them all so many times this way that I know them almost by heart. In fact I just "replayed" the scene where Seth's baby is born in the lobby for my teenager last evening. She was cracking up at my rendition, but I realized that I have listened to that routine so many times in the background that I was delivering it to her in Seth's own words and cadence which is what made me temporarily hilarious! Lol😂
I can't think of a better guy to get the shot. Fantastic comedian Nate Bargatze 🎉 This season of SNL feels more like the good old days when the show was funny. I'm a long time fan and haven't enjoyed it in years but stuck with it. I'm glad SNL realized it doesn't help ratings to politicize everything, just make people laugh!
For the record, his monologue, after MAYBE 30 seconds, killed. I was impressed with the content AND the near-impeccable timing, allowing the humor to build to a solid climax, gave me a coughing fit that made me wonder if it might be the end this time.
Love Nate Bargatze! I've followed his career and as a fellow Tennessean I'm so proud of his success. Rock on, Nate! Peace&Love&Laughter, The Old Hippiebilly
I’m an East Tennessean & really love him! I just heard about him recently, started seeing things about him on the internet. He does Tennessee proud. He’s not dirty & fame hasn’t made him a snob. Love him!

That's incredible. About 6 years ago, I was working for a comedy club in Seattle and he did a few weekends there for the standard $30/$40 tickets. He was extremely kind and fun to be around. After The Standups came out, he sold out every show when he came back to the club. But still humble and self deprecating, just as he is here. I always loved his stand up and it's awesome to see him blow up
I love Nate and I am a super fan. I have his specials nearly memorized. And that's the only reason I can fill in the gaps in his sentences when he is answering questions. Completely on point for Nate! Lol I love seeing the natural affinity between these two. Such nice guys and two of my very favorites! The SNL gig is well-deserved, and I am looking forward to watching start to finish.
Every year, SNL puts together a show that seems specifically made for early middle age white dudes like me. One year was Mulaney and the strokes, another was Woody Harrelson same Jack White, Benedict Cumberbatch and Arcade Fire, Mulaney again with LCD Soundsystem. This week is another on the list.
Only recently saw the first George Washington SNL sketch, and the second soon after, and instantly liked this guy, his tone and his delivery. Definitely will be looking out for more of him.

His George Washington sketch this weekend was an instant classic. Absolutely brilliant.
