Burle Marx Flame doing better in Pon makes sense since humidity-loving plants usually do better in semi-hydro if kept in less humid environments. I had a tiny BMF that didn't do much for so long but since I moved it to a propagation bin with ~90% RH, it really took off and is growing just a bit slower than my other deliciosas (not including Sierrana which is almost twice as fast for some reason). This is especially important for younger plants, I'm curious to see how it'll grow in regular humidity conditions when it'll be more mature.
When I think of the staghorn ferns I think of hunting for the giant staghorn in the woods, the big deer 🦌 and I deeply respect them both for being the most majestic creatures ever created
My home apparently is the ideal environment for alocasia and that variegated maharani has been living rent free in my head since I discovered it just grabbed a variegated sarian but eventually it will be mine
The burli Marx flame looks incredible, truly stunning. Also have to say thanks for your other video recommending oxygenating the water. Always great, trusted advice.
I have the homalomena rubescens starlight, which has more of a splash and less of a chunky variegation, and I absolutely love it. It came as a little plug and is growing pretty fast. Ngl, it loves humidity, but it's so pretty that it's worth the fussing. The splash comes in as a baby pink that fades to white/mint. I've been in love with homalomenas for years. It started with a naturally variegated emerald gem I found, and just grew when I saw all the varieties. Plus they don't climb or crawl and at this point space in my jungle is at a premium 🤣💚
I love to hear this!! I might get some more to play around with them! The humidity is a great tip, and honestly happy they don’t climb or crawl bc same 😅
You like em thicc! Respect. 😂 My BMF is slow and I’m waiting for my first claw. I just can’t move him to Pon or Leca. Just don’t feel right to me. I’ll wait. Nice picks. I’m feeling that alocasia watsonia.
Alocasia watsoniana is one I have also been pondering. I am generally not into Alocasia, no specific reason, they just don't "speak to me". But that watsoniana, I think I like it because it looks like the Anthurium regale silver stripe. Green Escape has had babies of them for a while, maybe I should just go ahead and get one.
I’ve cooled on alocasias lately because of a variety of factors (but mostly because they seem to always have spider mites 😒), but that watsoniana, though. I’m warming to anthuriums, and the watsoniana is kind of like having both.
Cool, I bought 2 Platycerium last year.. wanted to start out with some common ones and try to get those to thrive before trying something more expensive
@@prettyingreen so far so good, but the shield fronts turn brown pretty quick. I'd love to see those staying green for longer. It's like that for both my Bifurcatum and Veitchi Silver
Staghorns need a lot of humidity. I tried to grow it here in dry Colorado and it was dying until I put it in the greenhouse cabinet. Bummer because I wanted it on a wall too.
I sooooo want a Mr Worldwide x Circus Peanuts hybrid one day- give me all the chaotic wide sinus hybrids 🥳🥳🥳 I have a Maharani Lava corm that just popped this week and it’s my new favorite serotonin 😂 so much less work than aroid propagation but sooooo much more of a gamble.
I always quit Alocasia but I always go back. Most recently because I needed a Watsoniana. Also, I have almost 300 houseplants. I love your fertilizer but Ima need you to start selling big ol jugs of it.
I tried mounting with a staghorn and rabbit foot fern, the rabbit foot kinda died😮 and the stagorn is still alive, i feel they are really tough and hardy plants
@@prettyingreen my aunt still does she brought her Stag horn with her because she doesn’t want it to die. She has two places. She may have a dead ficus in the porch she needs to do a drip system for it.
Just wondering why you do not ship to Hawaii!! Would you make exceptions? If I were to purchase a tyi Constellation and spiritus-sancti and pay for priority mail shipping would you do this for me? Sincerely, A plant nut from Hawaii Normand sometimes it is what is beautiful that carries us.....

Nice picks. I’m feeling that alocasia watsonia.
Smart to feel out the BMF! Gotta listen to the plants. I wish I could get my hands on the watsoniana-I might kill it in tc tho!
So sorry to hear you've been burgled :( Heard she just went in there and booped everything.. Stay safe! Also Watsoniana is so pretty with big leaves!!
I can recommend Platyceriums have 5 of them, hybrids like Horn's Surprise is really beautiful I have one and it grows so nicely ❤

I've heard you'll grow grey waiting for the Burle Marx to mature.
😂😂😂
I can get my hands on a thai tri for 340 here in the netherlands. The mutation seems to pop up more.
Oooo great deal!!!! What sized plant?
Cool, I bought 2 Platycerium last year.. wanted to start out with some common ones and try to get those to thrive before trying something more expensive
How are they doing?

Ahhhh ok! So no Staghorn on my wall in 40-50% LA humidity 😅😅 good to know!!
I have staghorns- they’re my favorite ❤
I have mr. Burle in pon and he like it ❤
Love to hear this 😊
I'm waiting to get a staghorn. I got plenty of wood waiting to mount them.❤❤❤

Hahahaa omg it’s so true about the serotonin flood when seeing new leaf!!! 😍
Offended artist over here! 🤣 But nature is my favorite subject material, so I guess we agree? Lol
Hahahaha I probably should’ve explained that more!! 😅 plant art is my fave art to be fair!
I’d love to have a variegated gloriosum.

I know a couple vendors of those variegated gloriosum from China and they've been sending their plants to Thailand/Indonesia~
Prices are almost identical they’re telling me as Thailand :/

Stag horn love bananas I would go put bananas in them when I was little. We had a huge one in the yard.
Really!?! That's so interesting!
