Davis' rapidly evolved from "teenager nervous and eager to please on his first day of work" to "veteran employee who is ready to jump the counter and fight the customers" within the span of an hour. Impressive
You can't explicitly not say something, but yes the devs knew what they were doing. These kinds of systems in real life don't typically require you to lock the door again. It just automatically locks again once it's been opened once.
@@Eventide215agreed, though it is an oxymoronic statement. You can have deafening, or “thunderous silence.” An “unbiased opinion” or “zero tolerance”… something can be “falsely true” or “seriously funny” Etc etc… Ok I’ll stop now lol
@@Mock_immoralityThose are all true but explicit still doesn't work that way. The "thunderous silence" is mostly poetic so it's used only in writing for emphasis. The other 2 you mention after that aren't oxymoronic. That's just how their definitions work. The "falsely true" I've never once heard of actually used. "Seriously funny" also works because of the definitions. The definition of "explicit" means it's clearly expressed. If nothing was said, nothing was expressed. So you can't have something explicitly not said. It's not even oxymoronic. It just flat out doesn't work. For an oxymoron to work the context has to be there to make it make sense - this doesn't have that. It would have been better to say something like "the tutorial purposefully did not explain that."
Davis realizing the sheer, absolutely justified rage that public office workers feel when someone strolls into the building without proper paperwork and acts confused that they need it is absolutely giving me life.
Them just letting that nightmare child stroll through the door they left unlocked might be one of the best Squad moments of all time. and Jesse at 55:45 with that perfect timing 😭
They make a great point; there's a goddamn doppelgänger apocalypse going on, and these people are just like "Eh, I'm in a hurry. I just won't mark myself on the list today."
Lois in the first game actually did have the wrong ID number. It was 732 vs 723, around 15:30, also as I type 48:45 his entry pass was missing the DDD stamp.
The ID number is probably the dumbest part of this game. Not being able to have both the ID up and the files just makes it too annoying with how long the ID is.
That horrible monster girl just walking right into the apartment building, and then your reactions, was genuinely one of the funniest moments, I lost my shit multiple times. Keep up the great work lads. "She wasn't on the list" oh my god, funny shit.
For those wondering: Nacha was the neighbor they killed. Lois was a doppelganger they allowed in (two of the digits in her ID were reversed 23651 at the end instead of 32651). the other doppelganger they let in was the girl with no eyes or mouth... She must've taken Nacha's place.
You should call out anything that's wrong with them, I called someone out for not being on the list (even though he was) and he transformed and threatened me.
Holy. Jesse casually saying "Nope" as the doppelganger casually continues to walk past followed by a moment of silence.. one of the best moments of all time
TBH it's better to let a faceless creature into the building instead of one that has replicated its appearance perfectly, easier to find a faceless creature
I love how many of these we've been getting at such long intervals. Sorry I don't always hop on the videos asap, I like to save them for less stressful days, or to watch with the wife. But really wanted to pop in and say this, to show my support of the series in hopes it keeps on coming, and for the algorithm. Hope we get another Crendor segment, could be great.
Everyone I've seen play this has a normal first person then a dopple second and without fail they've all forgotten to close the door, immediately lost and it's funny every time. Vengeful Davis is such a different beast than regular Davis though. He's all fine and cordial at first but the first time he feels fucked over he's searching for the shotgun and looking for an excuse to murder everyone 😆
OH another game y’all might enjoy is Security Booth. It’s similar in that you gotta vet people before letting them into a place and all that, but it has much creepier vibes I think
This was a pleasure to watch! I watched someone else play this, and they never figured out you could call the people up. One detail that is very easy to miss, in case you were wondering, is the DDD logo on the paperwork is sometimes missing. Love watching you guys play games like this, the teamwork is fantastic.
I kind of need them to play Papers Please even if it's not technically a scary game it's uhhhh scary because abuse of power and life in a totalitarian state idk I just want to watch Davis go power mad
I was literally screaming "CLOSE THE DOOR!" In the beginning. That was hilarious. This is the first time I have seen the game but I thought it was weird that it didn´t change automatically. That was hilarious. I love when games are smart in ways like that and challange you as a player. Might pick it up later.
Was more entertaining than I figured itd be, wouldnt mind more of this one. Keep up the good work yall, wouldnt even mind the crew doing a few nonhorror games tbh.
i can already tell thus is gonna be a good one only 7 minutes in and we've already got comedy gold EDIT: this game is awesome, the dev(s) absolutely knew what they were doing
Yo Jesse! Been watching your old South Park videos again, you gonna do the new game like the last 2? It would be awesome to see the trilogy of South Park games completed 👍
Just wanted to say I love you guys....It never matters what game you guys play....just listening to you guys game together is always a wonderful time!!
SPOILERS: First round, the fails were the fake Nacha they let in second ("scars" means the fake had scars Nacha did not) and the first Lois was a fake, I assume the ID number was wrong. They killed the real Lois because her husband "confirmed" "Lois" was home. That screen talking about your failures could be a little more detailed tbh. I'm also assuming everyone on the list is always going to be out so calling their apartment doesn't help. Esp if you already let them in earlier, the doppelganger is just going to pick up and tell you they're home. Totally understand being thorough until you learn the game better tho. It's a very cool concept and I hope it gets properly fleshed out!
This is a lot like being a security guard in a government building. I'd like to think the Doppelgängers are less petty than government employees when you deny them building access tho.
I would love if you guys did a playthrough of Amnesia: The Bunker! I feel like it got passed right over and I would love to watch it with your excellent commentary.
Davis' rapidly evolved from "teenager nervous and eager to please on his first day of work" to "veteran employee who is ready to jump the counter and fight the customers" within the span of an hour. Impressive
Love the ruthless transformation 😂
Accurate to the experience of working in Real Life Customer Service XD
Five Nights At Freddy's Red version and Blue Version
The tutorial explicitly does NOT tell you to close the door, the devs knew what they were doing.
They sure wanted players to learn the hard way!
You can't explicitly not say something, but yes the devs knew what they were doing. These kinds of systems in real life don't typically require you to lock the door again. It just automatically locks again once it's been opened once.

The moment when they realized the door had to be closed manually must be in the Unofficial Top 10 Best Moments of the SGS.
1000%
Davis leaving the door unlocked in the first 7 minutes had me cackling
not only that but lets the creepiest mofo in
"She wasn't on the list!" after the eldritch beast in human clothing walked right in sent me into orbit.
The fact that Davis *IMMEDIATELY* messed up is perfect vertical slice of the SGS.
Davis realizing the sheer, absolutely justified rage that public office workers feel when someone strolls into the building without proper paperwork and acts confused that they need it is absolutely giving me life.
I would absolutely watch a Not-Scary Game Squad play not-scary games, these three are just too entertaining
These three do a Star Wars podcast that I love only because they’re so good together.
Them just letting that nightmare child stroll through the door they left unlocked might be one of the best Squad moments of all time. and Jesse at 55:45 with that perfect timing 😭
6:55 that comedic timing. love it
So funny.
@@cryhwksMattPat did the same thing first run.
To be fair, in reality those mechanisms auto-lock so that specific thing doesn't happen.
Everyone makes that mistake XD
I could NOT BELIEVE they missed the first one lol
“That’s cause you failed everyone” look I’m morally and contractually obligated to defend Davis but that made me laugh so much 😭
Watching Davis almost immediately catastrophically fail really made my day 😂
They make a great point; there's a goddamn doppelgänger apocalypse going on, and these people are just like "Eh, I'm in a hurry. I just won't mark myself on the list today."
7:04 - That sigh before Jesse starts cackling. Sounds like the D&D game nights I attend and the DM/GM is just done with everyone. 🤣🤣🤣
i think that was Davis sighing but yea I love Jesse's cackle
The fact that the person they let in accidentally happened to be an obvious doppleganger is SO funny 😂 the comedic timing was too good
Lois in the first game actually did have the wrong ID number. It was 732 vs 723, around 15:30, also as I type 48:45 his entry pass was missing the DDD stamp.
G'deye mate
I just noticed that too while scrolling comments, i happemed upon your comment lol
The ID number is probably the dumbest part of this game. Not being able to have both the ID up and the files just makes it too annoying with how long the ID is.
@@Eventide215true but at least there isn't a time limit
If that's the only hint then that's pretty mean, such a small variation is not easy to spot
That horrible monster girl just walking right into the apartment building, and then your reactions, was genuinely one of the funniest moments, I lost my shit multiple times. Keep up the great work lads.
"She wasn't on the list"
oh my god, funny shit.

the other doppelganger they let in was the girl with no eyes or mouth... She must've taken Nacha's place.
they didn't kill Nacha, they killed Lois. They let in the wrong one and killed her when she showed up again.
LMAO davis not locking the door in the beginning was hilarious
You should call out anything that's wrong with them, I called someone out for not being on the list (even though he was) and he transformed and threatened me.

It'd be great to see SGS come back to this when they release the new game modes
27:00 Her entry permit didn't have the D.D.D. stamp. That was the only tell.
48:55 same story for quirky fnaf man
55:45 😱 *_COX!!!_* HOW?! 🤯 How does he do it?! He's the video game whisperer I swear!
I love how quickly they forgot the part of the intro video that told them the dopplegangers could perfectly replicate people XD
Instantly forgetting crucial info is classic SGS 😄
There's no humans here, it's all doppelgangers still keeping up appearances.
The real twist is that the game isn't about stopping doppelgangers, it's about testing to see which doppelgangers can pass a basic inspection.
The Geekenders to SGS pipeline is real for this game
I don't know how many times I've come back to this video just to watch from 6:20 to 7:20 again
Damn, the first doppelganger just waltzed on in like "you guys are security? Aight, dont mind me"
The intro gets more sensual every time I think
Everyone I've seen play this has a normal first person then a dopple second and without fail they've all forgotten to close the door, immediately lost and it's funny every time.
Vengeful Davis is such a different beast than regular Davis though. He's all fine and cordial at first but the first time he feels fucked over he's searching for the shotgun and looking for an excuse to murder everyone 😆
OH another game y’all might enjoy is Security Booth. It’s similar in that you gotta vet people before letting them into a place and all that, but it has much creepier vibes I think
I come back to this video every couple of days just to watch Davis leave the door open
Kudos to the boys! Davis fall for control-freak-madness was so funny xD
I for one would be down for Davis Obra Dinn-ing
More people should play that game. It's so good.
Hello! I might be too late but you should play this game again! They added a hard mode and a nightmare mode! Had fun watching this with my bf :D
24:50 that's the girl with no eyes and no mouth on the phone.
What if the DDD is just trying to train the dopplegangers to be better at copying people
This was a pleasure to watch! I watched someone else play this, and they never figured out you could call the people up. One detail that is very easy to miss, in case you were wondering, is the DDD logo on the paperwork is sometimes missing. Love watching you guys play games like this, the teamwork is fantastic.
I would LOVE to see the squad play I'm On Observation Duty! Any of them please!
W. Afton in the second run had no DDD label on his request! So definitely his documentation was off :)
I'm sorry but Davis immediately letting in a monster is fucking hilarious.
I kind of need them to play Papers Please even if it's not technically a scary game
it's uhhhh scary because abuse of power and life in a totalitarian state idk I just want to watch Davis go power mad
26:03 to answer Alex's question, the reason this is a doppleganger is the DDD stamp is missing on the Entry Request :)
Loving the flow of more scary game squad lately!
"BURN IN DOPPELGANGER HELL!" it's my new favorite catchphrase 😂
I love that SGS has been putting out so much lately! Thanks boys!
I was literally screaming "CLOSE THE DOOR!" In the beginning. That was hilarious. This is the first time I have seen the game but I thought it was weird that it didn´t change automatically.

I didn't think anything could top RE7, but this did it. This was amazing from start to finish
God Jesse's cackling gives me life 🤣🤣 love the squad ❤
Papers Pleases meets The Thing
I loved this episode. Would love to watch more.
There’s an interaction with a Sverchzt doppleganger that always sends a chill up my spine and I’m kinda disappointed they didn’t see it
What is it, if you don’t mind me asking?
Tell us tell us tell us
I wanted the high Davis was on to culminate in the crushing, harsh reality of Papers Please
need to see more games like this
I hope you guys play more of this. It seems fun
Just commenting this channel has been hitting it out of the park recently. Love all the sgs stuff we have been spoiled with too.
Yooooo even more SGS… the amount of videos is making my year
43:15 damn, you have got me fanning myself Davis
This playthrough is so good! Hopefully you guys can return to this when the full version comes out.
I hate that davis moves the mouse around so much he keeps threatening to press the green button when im like clearly this is a monster lol
57:58 YEEESSSSSS FINALLY SOMEONE GOT IT RIGHT
The Devil in me! Gotta complete the anthology!! It's not the bus driver this time lol
55:46 classic SGS moment, predicting what happens next in the game LMAO 😭 I thought it was just story driven games...
That might be the best opening / early-game of any SGS video ever.
Sometimes missing your morning coffee leads to accidentally letting faceless abominations into your building.☕
That was a really great video! Thanks for this amazing content and good vibes as always!
This was fun! Davis still hasn't noticed Jesse's got blonde hair now, but so long as they're having fun!
i can already tell thus is gonna be a good one
only 7 minutes in and we've already got comedy gold
EDIT: this game is awesome, the dev(s) absolutely knew what they were doing
Yo Jesse! Been watching your old South Park videos again, you gonna do the new game like the last 2? It would be awesome to see the trilogy of South Park games completed 👍
scary game squad is the best thing... its just the best thing. of all the things, scary game squad is the best
Davis is super jaded by his second day on the job.
This game is fantastic! I cannot wait to see more!
Wonder if this game updated. Would be great to see them revisit it if their interested.
This was fun, please come back to this game when thez bring out more game modes
Just wanted to say I love you guys....It never matters what game you guys play....just listening to you guys game together is always a wonderful time!!

Very creepy that the occupants confirm the fake person as being there, leading to the real one dying
Thanks for this, I was trying to figure out which neighbour they killed
Yeah, the ID number on the card ended with 23651 but the one on file ended with 32651. Super easy to miss.
49:28 sometimes they get their reason wrong…
Me: no DDD Logo…!!!! XD
Great video! I hope you play more. Also, don’t know if you’re aware, there’s a new update out that adds a new mode to the game.
Dr. W. Afton. That’s a neat reference.
That first moment when Jesse started laughing * chef's kiss *
Jesse please play "let's find larry" for scary game squad
lol. Davis brought that TSA agent energy.
edit: lol Jesse also picked up on it.
edit 2: holy shit he did it. Master Doorman on the squad.
More of this please I love it
Scary Game Squad, my beloved
I cackled just like Jesse when they realized they have to close the door in the beginning! XDD
Loving the "Brain Trust" vibe
I feel so called out right now, playing elite dangerous in the background while I was watching this...
Thank you for making my day brighter guys :)
This is a lot like being a security guard in a government building.
I'd like to think the Doppelgängers are less petty than government employees when you deny them building access tho.
I feel like you guys would love “exit 8”
Love everything SGS does. Let's go!
Gonna toss this out there again... Any chance we get the rest of Jedi Survivor? :D
Omggg the makers letting in literally the scariest monster ever, girl not even trying, to teach you to close the door? Awful lololol
This is was an awesome game to watch them play.
I would love if you guys did a playthrough of Amnesia: The Bunker! I feel like it got passed right over and I would love to watch it with your excellent commentary.
that melted face girl walking right in was one of the funniest thing in SGS history.
