If you let a doppelganger in it will be able to answer the phones in the apartment of the person it was impersonating, then they *DO* lie.
Do they give anything away if you let a doppelganger and you call them? Like they say something weird to give it away that you messed up

@@chicabear No, the clue that they are a doppel is present when they first come to the window. Wrong ID number/missing stamp/out of date documents are the usual giveaways people miss.
The best way to tell is if the person that’s at the window has no discrepancies when you thought you already let them in.

@@jaxonsmith5575 Pretty much this. The game takes a lot after Papers Please, but doesn't do enough to establish itself. Papers Please had you work faster to get more money and it was crucial so that you could support your family. This game does nothing to tell the players its different from that. And we're not really told about the results of our actions until the end -- which again, Papers Please does a good job of telling you quickly if you messed up.
@FreshSakuya I mean...the fact that it is not Papers, Please nor is it made by the same developer should be enough to tell you that you shouldn't treat it as Papers, Please. Why would a game have to explicitly tell you that you shouldn't follow the instructions of a completely different game? It has its own tutorial to tell you how to play.
The game explains to you that you only get to know how you did at the end of the day. It's not bad game design that you're too impatient to play an entire round; this is just not your kind of game.

Tbf, he didn't click fast, the board was just taking an eternity to load. If it was me I'd definitely be like "OK well either this board glitched or I'm doing something wrong"

Ive worked many of retail jobs where Ive needed to ID people. Though their life wasnt on the line at all, they sure acted like it when they “forgot it”

You were explicitly not supposed to let people in since it was secured lab and they needed to swipe in. So many dorks would freaking *knock* on the door or give me weird looks for ignoring folks knocking. No matter how many times I explained they aren't allowed in without their ID and I'm not allowed to open it for people, knocking. They could have a _chainsaw_ , then what?

the fact that both times the old man asks them the second question instead of looking up "not my neighbor old man questions" they look up the actual fucking question.
I did, top 2 results were shitty TikTok pages of videos relating to the game lol. Also Arin was right the very first time he encountered the dude (in previous video), but didn't input the scientific name.
Arin started doubting if the people he was calling was telling the truth while staring at a guy who didn't have his paper stamped, didn't give his ID, and they had already dealt with 1 doppelganger trying to be that guy by calling it in earlier. Sometimes he picks the weirdest moments to start thinking that there's an unreliable narrator out of nowhere

If someone is not on the list, then they are more likely to be a doppleganger and calling the apartment to confirm can come in big.

I get worried every time they immediately burn someone instead of using the form to question the person's appearance. Knowing this game, it would not surprise me if some guy had his nose blown off in an accident and forgot to update his government profile after the surgery or something similar.
As someone who works check in at a hotel, I can 100% confirm the forgetting IDs is accurate. I will say to everyone as they come up "can I get your ID and a CC?" And everyone still has to dig for it even though they just heard me ask everyone ahead of them in line and even though you have to have it at every single hotel ever. What's crazy too is that some of these people are regulars and every single stay they forget to have their ID and CC out

To be fair towards Danald and Arny, the idea that this game is very similar to Papers, Please means that for someone like me I wouldn't even consider the need to call every apartment every time as a fallback that's super reliable; a thing like that just wouldn't be expected for me, in a game like this.
