Hi Phil. Nice job on the kit 👍 You just keep right on rambling and ignore the sad trolls. Your videos keep me company and keep me smiling for hours in my hobby shed 😊❤
Don't worry about rude people, some people are miserable and they want to spread their misery, I don't think you talk to much, I love your videos.... I want this kit lol
Hey Phil (SprueVerse) I don’t think you talk too much at all. I watch some UA-cam videos and a lady in Canada just love to talk about things and is quite good hearing about things and takes my mind off things that are going on in my life lately
You like to talk and Lou loves to make it rain with puns, I would not dare to ask either of you to change. Everyone has their own style and flavor, if you don't like someone's style then just go to another channel. Please don't pay any attention to the negativity Phil we all love you just the way you are. Now go build something... 😀
i,ll be watching jason and the argonauts tmrw on christmas eve like i do every year so i can check out the colour schemes too. have a great christmas phil and hope to send you pics of mine next year sometine
just found the perfect water design for a base phil from another video on here and you glue down sheets and sheets of toilet paper onto a base and paint over it in pva glue too which will ruck it all up to look like waves and then add another layer then glue painrt that all over and keep going and then leave to dry for a good 2 - 3 days then paint and thats what ive done with my talos base too
i have just started the patina effect on mine phil and didnt do what you did and wiped it off and ive just dry brushed it lightly with citadel nurgling green and that looks okay too and quite good
just found out that star ace have just released the medusa model kit but it wont be out for a while and sadly, she has no arrows with it but it comes with the base that the deluxe star ace version has
well i watched it and got a few surprises as i thought the sail on the boat was red like the boats one in the deluxe version but no its actually a browny colour and realised the boat is going to be a sod to paint ha ha but i,ll do my best and hope you had a great day today
He turned out wonderfully, and your sea is brilliant, puts most resin water kits to shame... Nice work creating the bronze aged appearance gives Talos a very nice patina. As to the vitriol from a commentator I'd say there's always turning the sound off, but I'd say please talk more - I model-make and watch the show at the same time, so you become a modelling companion, keep on talking, making jokes and carry on regardless!
Phil, what an amazing build and paint! I'm hoping to grab this kit as soon as possible! I really enjoyed the entire "unofficial" challenge. I really hope to be able to meet all of you fine gentlemen someday, whether at a convention or a show. It really bugged me that someone had the gall to say that you talk too much. Content creators are all different, and everyone has their own style. C'mon, You're the guy who brought back Doctor Who in my opinion! You talk as much as you want! Keep up the great work, and don't ever stop talking! -John
Talk all you want dude! You are saying important stuff. Craft Paint & Air Brushes: Most Craft Paint is Acrylic, I, at least, can't find what was called "Tempera" paint in my youth. I would choose Acrylic anyway. Too much water in other paints for putting on paper models. Acrylic paint airbrushes just fine. The secret is simple. 1. Yes, thin, thin. I use the stuff off the shelf. I'll have to try some ammonia cleaner some day. We know from "Big Fat Greek Wedding" that Windex cures everything. 2. Acrylic Craft Paint drys QUICK. it will build up and clog your needle. Clean often and expect to field strip the brush every time. There is stuff that supposedly delays the paint cure. Haven't tried it. Nice side effect. Acrylic Craft paint seals paper so well you can actually put decals on it with absolute impunity.
im gonna send you a pic of mine when hes done phil too... and ... the triceratops from one million years bc is coming out next week as a kit too and cant wait to get one
I dunno, Phil-- part of your charm is that you *do* talk a lot. And you have something to say. Self-deprecation is my own method of engaging (a la S. J. Perelman) so I enjoy it. I was only going to comment that your color of bronze and verdigris seemed a little too cold and blue. But I realized that there was no practical way to judge through this path of communication. I do believe that you have your cameras EV way high. The white areas of your table swamp out anything on your white-ish work mat. So hard to say what's going on. The base looks great-- working with paint only did well for you. I might have tried for more height in the rocks-- but even good Mr. Harryhausen seemed to wipe his sweating brow and cry, "Enough!" on that base of his. I hope this finds you and yours all well and good-- I used to say, don't eat too much around TDay, now, go'wan, eat too much.
hi phil, thank you so much for this video as this is what i want to do with a diorama base as i have this kit too so well done and im sorry youve been getting nasty comments. is there any way too you could do more videos the same as this with the other kits ... please... i really enjoyed this and you explained everything well
I didnt know there was a TALOS kit, is this an old discontinued one from Japan perhaps? it looks very authentic, & well detailed, this isnt the usual boring standing pose, or the kneeling on the plynth one either. he really looks dynamic as though he's busy
No problem at all - just don’t brush up and down - take a slightly larger brush and use dabbing strokes - this will allow the paint to get into the nooks and it will also blend better.
Star Ace is rather impressive. They also sell pre-assembled and painted versions of these. Their Kraken is amazing. Phil, did you not apply the adhesion promoter, or did you do it off-camera?
yeh ive just carefully scraped a bit off of the handle part in his hand the sword goes onto and now its a nice snug fit but will still need to glue it on possibly ... .
im going to have to get that bronze colour you used too as the bronze one ive got is coming out like a pure gold and doesent look right. ive only done a foot with it and looks too glittery and will be doing the patina with a pale light green like you did with your colour but im dreading the boat
this has really surprised me phil they have included the base with it that the deluxe version has but sadly no arrows which i think is bad considering talos had all the little oars in the boat with this kit so im hoping that they will start releasing the kits with the bases the deluxe ones have too and accesories
hi phil, dont know if you know but star ace are now releasing the skeleton army as a kit ie the children of the hydras teeth. ive asked them when its available but didnt get a straight answer so god knows. sadly i wont be buying it as it will be a cow to paint with all the different colours you have to do it in to get a decent bone colour
theyve told me as well in a message they will be releasing the minaton too but in the future so it looks like they are going to do kits of all the deluxe ones theyve made
i was really worried phil when i painted my talos like you did in this bronze colour as it looks black when its on but in different scenes of yours it looks like mine has come out the same in a darkish brown colour
well im gonna have to tell you phil but this tamirya paint in bronze im doing my talos in as well is awful and really smells and reminds me of sherry. im lucky i havent drunk it ha ha
I watch you, Wayne and Lou because you talk about what you do and I learn new tricks. Channels with a non-contextual hand and some weird music only are boring.
One of the reasons for watching your videos is to listen to your comments etc. Keep it up
Monsters in Motion in the US.
Hi Phil. Nice job on the kit 👍 You just keep right on rambling and ignore the sad trolls. Your videos keep me company and keep me smiling for hours in my hobby shed 😊❤
yeh he makes me die laughing especially with the part on this video where he says about killing yourself with the hot wire cutter machine
Thanks for the smiles Phil 😄. Missed watching your videos.
OMG, I just watched Jason, and the Argonauts last night. 😂
Don't worry about rude people, some people are miserable and they want to spread their misery, I don't think you talk to much, I love your videos.... I want this kit lol
Awesome build of one of my favorite movies as a kid! This movie has everything in it: monsters, gods, adventure, damsels, and sword fights.
Hi Phil. Saving this to watch tomorrow when I get some hobby time. Really disappointed to miss you at Telford 😔
Love listening. Keep on talking Phil!
Nice job, Phil. I like it. Another one to put on display. It has a small footprint, should be wife approved. :)
Great explanation your enthusiasm is contagious!
A wonderful subject that came out great. I love your stream of thought ramblings as you are working on your models. Keep it up.
Hey Phil (SprueVerse) I don’t think you talk too much at all. I watch some UA-cam videos and a lady in Canada just love to talk about things and is quite good hearing about things and takes my mind off things that are going on in my life lately
Turned out awesome. Have a great time on your trip across the pond. I know you are going to come back with some amazing stories.
put down the book! your Talos looks great. the final Talos Tally is 3- all
Phil, Really turned out great, he looks just like the screen shot photo. Really nice job --- Take Care ! :)

Talk as much s you want to Phil, it's fun to listen, great paint job, it makes the model
Love it. Need to get mine done now
If you do yours Wayne, then I guess in a way you have completed the sprueVerse challenge. Would be great to see your version of this
Slacker...🤣 Not like you're doing anything else😄

when will you be ptting your medusa build and paint up video on so i can keep an eye out for it
It will either happen for Halloween or be pushed into late November. Just to busy on my Enterprise D to know at the moment.
@@sprueVerse ok then will wait and look forward to it

Lots of fun builds planned for the weeks and months ahead! Cheers! Phil.
did you order your medusa kit from star ace in japan phil on thier sight or a company in the US
hi phil ive just seen a great video on here of how to make a water effect base with toilet paper mod podge and paints and liquitex medium gloss
It’s a solid way to go!
I didnt know there was a TALOS kit, is this an old discontinued one from Japan perhaps?
it looks very authentic, & well detailed, this isnt the usual boring standing pose, or the kneeling on the plynth one either. he really looks dynamic as though he's busy
This is a relatively new kit.
Your summary says it is a X-Plus model instead of Space Ace. Just letting you know Phil.
Thank you for catching that. I’ve fixed the mistake. Cheers!
youve got to see it i tell ya !!
is it ok to paint the x33 on phil as i havent got an airbrush and then do the patina effect with my pale green?
No problem at all - just don’t brush up and down - take a slightly larger brush and use dabbing strokes - this will allow the paint to get into the nooks and it will also blend better.
ok phil thanks@@sprueVerse
Star Ace is rather impressive. They also sell pre-assembled and painted versions of these. Their Kraken is amazing. Phil, did you not apply the adhesion promoter, or did you do it off-camera?
It was applied off camera.
@@sprueVerse Excellent. It came out great, Phil!
sorry to keep on phil but did you put plaster of paris on the base and shape it all over to get the sea effect and then painted it in the blue ?
Yep
@@sprueVerse ok brilliant. thanks for letting me know i may do that myself with my talos model too
have you preordered your medusa model kit yet phil
I have!
i had a job phil to get the sword into his hand which wont fit so i may have to scrape a bit of resin off and glue it in

Did you prime the model in black? Your base coat will change the bronze color - you can also tone it down with some craft acrylic bronze as well.
@@sprueVerse no i have a grey colored primer i can use on it first
i painted the hands in the grey primer and its gone on different colour so maybe i need to prime it all in grey first
I used black.
will you be doing the new centaur star ace kit phil too
Not this year.

do you deal with dimensional designs models phil
I do not.
