The victim’s hands not checked for gun shot residue? Great work everybody. 🎉
No kidding!
My thoughts exactly. The degree of incompetence that would lead to not doing it is mind-boggling, and barring incompetence, any other reason produced for it not being done would lead to some pretty dark places.
💯💯💯
The medical examiner was clear on the plan, 'are we doing a cover up for a cop or not'.
they like to keep the bar real low in georgia. the sheriffs don't work at much too hard, otherwise they'd find out their wives are sleeping with their deputies..
Dr Grande should enter the Uploader Olympics, he'd definately win a gold medal.

I don't believe Seth was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, mainly because Dr, Grande didn't describe him as "exceedingly creepy"
This 😅😅😅
NO WAY,, the Doc has speculated and NOT diagnosed lots of people who didn't fit the exceedingly creepy criteria...
Bahahahahahaa! YES! I literally laugh out loud every time he ends the description of the POI with, "exceedingly creepy" ❤❤❤😂😂😂
But he had a sense of entitlement
@@0megaVon Me too,, I'm expecting the Doc to add qualifiers like "FANTASTICALLY creepy" or "ASTOUNDINGLY creepy" or whatever lol....
Dr. Grande, your eye and brow movements are amazing and very interesting.
On that subject, I have noticed that in his introduction while stating ".....in a situation like this,...", he almost always shifts his eyes to his left on "like". He's very consistent with this eye movement at that word!
I think he suffers from involuntary muscle movement

You’d think a police officer would know better than to talk to the police.
You are assuming he was a bright police officer
Narcissism at its finest
At least without a lawyer present
You’re assuming cops are smart.
I would not assume that, actually.
It took me waaaay too long to realize the title "Mysterious Magazine Removal" was talking about a gun magazine. I'm embarassingly far into the video waiting for how a sport or trade magazine being misplaced would prove the guy killed his wife. 😂😂
Yeah, thank goodness we're not all so slow. Ahem.
I thought this too 😭
I hate when that happens! ☺
Me too, but I'm Australian, so....

How could Seth be an abusive partner? He is an officer of the law... this is unprecedented 😑
partners can be weak point for these power drunk guys. Abusing them seems to get them in trouble all the time. It's funny how some women advertise they only date cops. Kind of makes you think they want control over a power hungry monster.

Seth: "She shot herself after apologizing, because she felt so bad for falsely accusing me of domestic abuse."
Flawless story, Seth.
He probably made her write the note with a gun to her head
Why would she do that though if she’d obviously be offed either way?
The fact that she told a neighbour ’if I show up dead I did not kill myself’ is a dead giveaway
Because someone who was planning on ending their own life would be incapable of lying to implicate their spouse/make their suicide look like a murder? I'm not saying that is what happened, but it is definitely possible. I think it is far from a "dead giveaway" as you described it. It is definitely evidence worthy of consideration, though. The low standard of proof for people in a comment section never ceases to amaze me.
@AxelordSMIJES
I understand that people in the comments are not sworn jurors, qualified investigators or doing anything other than sharing their first impressions in a low stakes forum, do you?
Dead serious
@@AxelordSMIJESyeah it's funny how people don't kill themselves to frame other people 😂😂😂😂 what value would there be in that ffs
At the end of Dr Grande’s monologue I am always anxiously awaiting to see if the perpetrator was “exceedingly creepy” or not. In this Seth is guilty but not convicted of the atrocious crime of exceeding creepiness. Yep. The Doc is the MAN
No idea if it was suicide or murder, but I do know one thing about that pistol. The S&W Bodyguard .380 has a history of the magazine falling out of it after firing the weapon. I own one, and that used to happen to me at the range. I've since purchased an aftermarket magazine catch. Why would someone make a magazine catch for this specific pistol if it didn't have this defect S&W refused to address? Search youtube, there are several videos of this magazine falling out of the pistol. You could be correct about accidentally touching the mag release when firing. I made an effort to not do that, and it was still falling out. Galloway aftermarket mag release fixed it for me.
Very interesting to know - leaves some room for reasonable doubt!
After a quick google search, I see this issue being cited on MANY different forums. Now I have even MORE doubt. That coupled with the ME's finding would have left me at a Not Guilty verdict based on the info provided here. I wish Dr. Grande would have given just a bit more info on this gun, given his familiarity with firearms.
Thanks for the insight my friend! Much appreciated ❤
However if that happened the magazine would not have allowed another bullet to be chambered. So the magazine did not just fall out after firing. if it would have the bullet would have stayed in the magazine.
Also how far away was the magazine away from the gun? Those magazines are not spring loaded with enough tension to move it more than a foot.
So the magazine was removed after firing.
The location of the spent cartridge is another issue. Yes they do fly out of the pistol, but generally not further than 3 or 4 feet.
I think him getting convicted was the correct judgement.
Also someone shooting themselves in such a manner will not leave the hands and arms by their sides. another tell tale sign that something was fishy.
How was the gun obtained etc? Was it legally obtained etc? Is it just your failing to report it or the police not onvestigate
Why wasnt her hands TESTED FOR GSR 😐
Right! Absolute cherry picking of evidence.
They already chose the outcome and just went collecting evidence to support it.
A case like this is probably always cut and dry in their experience but surely something like that could undermine the prosecution in the hands of Johnnie Cochran tier lawyer.
Because they knew they wouldn't find it and it would point towards murder.
The reason Seth's parents were supporting him is because he was battling cancer at the time and couldn't work. His cancer went into remission in 2017.
When I first heard that his parents were paying his bills I immediately assumed he was a lazy slob Mama's boy but knowing that he was battling cancer changes my attitude a bit.
*** I still think he killed her but maybe he's not a mama's boy.
True and good perspective but his Dad bought him that huge nice house. I had a feeling Seth as a rookie cop and his wife as a former receptionist (then no longer working), couldn’t afford that house esp in FL.
@missychan63 Did they ever test clothing in the washer for gsr?
Seth was not working at all - he was supported by his parents. But hey at least he's tall!
Right!
Until he suddenly became a small-town cop; with no prior experience or school, living in the huge house his daddy bought.
And always with the ME's ruling murders as suicides, even though it's obviously not; until a lawyer or judge tells them otherwise.

So the police never tested her hands to see if there was gun powder residue on her hand! Did the corner test it? So her arms were down by her side, which they wouldn't be if she committed suicide, the clip was over by the door of the room, and yet the police never checked her hands for residue! Sure sounds like they tried to cover it up, or maybe it was just very sloppy police work! Maybe someone should be looking at the hiring practices there too!
The magazine was on the bed. A spent casing was 17 feet away by the door.
I'm thinking the cops were initially gonna cover for him and realized that they couldn't sell it. The medical examiner didn't get the memo.

He was a cop for about 14 months prior to killing his wife. There is no way a thorough, competent background check was done on him prior to being hired.

He got her drunk she passed out he put the gun in her hands (as most people know that have gone to college or house parties a passed out drunk is as vulnerable as a new born baby. I've drawn and had some obscene things drawn on my face but digress lol), positioned her in suicidal scenario, helped her pull the trigger, set up the scene and had to prematurely rush things after the cop showed up. It's why he had gun powder residue on his hands
It constantly amazes me the trash people label "the love of my life."
If there are DV incidents involving choking, the likelihood of murder goes WAY up!
In the book, ‘The Gift of Fear’, Gavin talks about how obtaining protective orders can lead to further violence, so it’s not always the best option

@@0megaVon it’s such a good book! It’d be great if lots of young people could read it. I’m glad I mentioned it! Thanks 🌻
It’s extremely fishy that she was never tested for gunshot residue. He was saying from the beginning that she’s the one who fired the gun. The police could have easily disproven that idea by testing her and not finding any residue. This is very basic stuff.
Incompetent of the police men or women.
The pistol can be fired without the magazine in. Insert magazine, rack pistol, drop magazine. The pistol is now loaded with one round in the chamber and no magazine in.
Many people have shot themselves because they didn't know this. This mistaken assumption changes the whole story.
There was a cartridge in the chamber on the scene. Although it could have reloaded after being fired and the magazine release button pressed due to recoil. I suppose..
Dr Micro doesn’t know shit. Just spewing rumors and hearsay
How did the medical examiner come to the conclusion that Amanda's death was at her own hands? At the very least, the cause of death could have been ruled undetermined. I'm glad the ME report was ignored by the prosecutors and the jury
The coroner made the finding that she pulled the trigger, but did not check for gunpowder residue? That is some very shoddy work, very questionable. He needs to find another line of work. Usually in case of suicides medical examiners / coroners in the absence of absolute proof of suicide with also get the deceased records or make a finding that the cause is likely to be suicide. Most medical examiners that I know of take their jobs very seriously. They often state that they speak for the dead. they are not interested in covering up for anyone, no matter how painful the truth is.

Hi Dr G! Thank you for the upload! Please could you look at the heartbreaking case of Madeline Soto?
Hold up. The gun was found by her feet but the autopsy came back as suicide. How the hell did she shoot herself in the head, then throw the gun down towards her feet? I'm just glad the police didn't cover up for the killer
I guess the examiner just saw the tell tale sign of a barrel pressed to skin and said "Good enough 🤷♂️" but my word nothing about that crime scene added up to it
Well, here’s a few ways. Maybe when she fired it she jerked and it knocked in a random direction. Maybe at about off the bed. Maybe it bounced off a pillow. Maybe it bounced off her knee. it doesn’t mean anything that it wasn’t found where you think it should’ve been found. Have you ever dropped your phone near the bed? Where does it land? Who knows. Somewhere in the area. Guns work like that too. I’m not saying that he didn’t kill her. I’m just saying that for some reason people always make these very flimsy arguments about how something could not have happened and therefore that means that someone is guilty. “ I can’t explain it.” is not very good evidence of guilt.
I'm so late today 😮
Thank you, Dr. Grande!
This leaves me to wonder what Seth's job interview was like....
Police Chief: tell me about your work history.
Seth: my parents support me.
Chief: where do you live?
Seth: in a house my father bought me.
Chief: you're hired.
I was just going to ask what 'blank' was. Thankfully, Dr Grande explained it so well.
Sounds like someone knew someone in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation or knew the medical examiner 😜🤔
Ballistic forensics used to determine suicide is more or less angle of entry and gun position, two things the shooter could have figured out by placing the gun in her hand, placing it against her head, and then firing it for her. That could also explain the unloaded magazine, if he accidentally bumped the release as he tried letting go of the pistol. It would also explain having a minute amount of gsr on his hand, which wouldn't have been there at all, had she been the one who pulled the trigger
At least, this is one cop that a judge can't give a short sentence or just probation to.

"Neglect and Swerve? 😂😂😂😂😂💀
I was done when I heard that Amanda's hands weren't checked. To me that indicates that no exculpatory evidence would or could be found on scene, because the police didn't look for it. I can't get to "beyond a reasonable doubt" under those circumstances.
He was probably convicted on the "strength" of the magazine evidence. It sounds very strong, but it is a complete non-sequetor.
Neglect and Swerve!!! hahaha good one, Doctor G.
Most dangerous time for a victim is always after the abuser gets out of jail..RIP
I just watched a body cam video of cops coming up on the crime scene and one of the cops immediately clears the fire arm just out of habit and the other tells him to not do that.
Especially when you dont know who else is in the location i can understand the need to make sure you dont just leave a fire arm someone can potentially use later.
Police agencies should dive deeper into a potential employee's mental health status before considering hiring them.
Why the hell was a GSR test not done on Amanda's hands? That would have given a clear and definitive answer. I mean, the fact that Amanda shot herself while standing in the doorway, took apart the gun, placed it on the foot of the bed, got into bed, put her hands by her side and died all without getting a drop of blood anywhere other than the bed all while severely drunk just to frame Seth. Someone should have proven her hand was covered in GSR and cleared poor, innocent, Seth's name.
Many pistols can be fired without a magazine inserted as long as a round has already been chambered. If a pistol does not have a “magazine disconnect safety” then it can be fired without the magazine. I don’t know if the bodyguard 380 has this feature and I don’t care to check.
Women are too forgiving or could be traumatized by all the abuse. Either way, the results are disastrous & sad when they stay with angry or crazy partners. Great breakdown again. Thanks Dr G😊💜💜
Seth did not have a job; he was supported by his parents, so he became a police officer. Obviously, Seth was neither "self-motivated" nor was he a "self-starter." And that is what's wrong with many police departments, these days. It used to be that children grew up dreaming of being a police officer, and there was a high bar: physical fitness, college degree with a decent GPA, age between 25-35, squeaky clean record, psych eval, and so on. Now, many departments will happily give you a badge and a gun if you have a GED and a pulse. When a cop steps out of line, their fellow officers will protect them.
And, so, we end up with officers like Seth, here. He was lazy, entitled, short-tempered, and solves problems with violence. When he stepped out of line (the mudering his wife part), his fellow officers didn't do a thorough investigation and made their results fit his narrative. Fortunately, a prosecutor chose to see through the charade, otherwise Seth would have gotten away with murder.
Not everyone is a go getter or type A personality type so you shouldn’t do pretentious

I'd be very surprised if this was Seth's 1st and only murder. I get serial murderer vibes from dude

I’m just exceedingly creepy.
Bro forgot to put his badge on when he committed the murder.
The incompetence of the police here not to test the victims hands is ridiculous. Also, I'm pretty sure corpses don't discharge the cartridges from handguns and chuck them across the room, after killing themselves with them! He's blatantly guilty, of the police weren't so chronically crap at their jobs there wouldn't be any doubt
This episode reminded me of a musician named Seth Putnam. You would enjoy performing an episode on his life and achievements in the music industry.
My biggest hangup would be the magazine being removed. Why would Seth remove the magazine if he was trying to stage a suicide? Yes, people who commit murder are not geniuses but there is some doubt. If the ME found that Amanda's grip on the gun could have ejected the magazine after the recoil, the same could happen to the shooter. Seth may have not noticed the magazine fell out after he shot. Weird case where reasonable doubt would become a big issue.

Oh, Dr. Grande!! You make me laugh. A lot. I’m not exactly sure what it was about that one word for me, today, but it really set me on one. Thankfully, I was not in public. These cases are not funny but Dr. Grande cracks me up. One thing I’ll say is if I had a gun at my head I’d write that note. I’m such a skeptic (I’m not advocating for extreme skepticism, btw 😉) that my mind wouldn’t even consider that note as any type of proof that pointed to Amanda having harmed herself, and I can’t imagine that any half decent investigator would either. So, there’s that.
Another thing I’ll say is that it’s another awful tragedy committed by a loser, it seems. RIP Amanda. 🕊

Hey Dr Grande!
I was wondering if you could do a video about Bam Margera. It’s a rather interesting case of what happens when parents let their children do whatever they want, and then is paid to create chaos.
The relationship between these two people is one of the reasons I was never interested in marriage.
Dr Grande needs to speculate about “they’re eating the dogs…they’re eating the cats” and who Trump could possibly have seen on TV 😂
According to residents in area that spoke at a town meeting it appears to be true. One female was arrested at a scene that's quite disturbing. There are many videos relating to the situation.
As far as that debate goes, I can't believe either one is competent to be our next president, but what other choice will we really have?
I dont know about cats and dogs. I know there was talk locally about the haitians doing it. One thing is for sure, and I saw the interview. Residents have seen haitians grabbing ducks around the ponds in the parks and cutting their heads off and carrying off the duck to eat.

As a former authorized and certified Smith and Wesson salesman, and a veteran gun owner with experience with that piece of crap bodyguard .380: The magazine is very tightly fit on those guns, and they have a very small very flat magazine release. it would be difficult to remove just by pressing the magazine release, you would also have to pull down on the bottom of the magazine to get it to clear the gun, usually this would be very very hard to do if you had just shot yourself I don't think it's possible with this type of tiny little s***** hand gun.
I have read that some people will have had issues with the magazine falling out but I believe this is due to a quality control issue on the production line, The frames are polymer and it can be very difficult to get the fit exactly right, these are on the cheapest pistols Smith & Wesson makes and they are one of the lowest quality things that has ever had the name stamped on it, I have no idea if the magazine on the specific pestle in question were tight or not but I've seen more tight ones than lose ones
