I love the exterior lines on this boat. She looks like she would be very fast through the water with her modest beam and long waterline length. I also like how they split the Ford head up so that the toilet itself is in its own room and the sink is in another room. I’m 6‘4“ tall and need a good bit of room when I’m using the head on a boat. Nice to see someone, especially in these older boats, making heads that are actually useful.
When I was the thumbnail I though, that’s a Rampart. When I was at boat building college In Southampton I got to tour the yard , 1978/9. It was the last one to be built they shut the doors after that! Unexpected to see one in this side of pond! I love how the older boats did not have the upper helm dominate the boat in a flybridge stuck on top of the pilot house like an after thought. A proper yacht. Cheers Warren
I worked for Hinckley Yachts out of Maine (building the vessels) and having been raised on Cape Cod Massachusetts I am a lover of water and boats...This is a great layout and a beautiful woody. Thank you Sir ! I subscribed.
I'm definitely more into sail boats, but if I were to own a power boat, this would be the kind of thing I would go for. Love the classic design over the characterless plastic things they sell these days.
Love the look of wood as well. How would this hold up in rough water? I know nothing of sailing and yachting, just ending up here on youtube admiring these boats
@@grancitodos7318 It's Admiral Dick to you Captain Stubing! Yes it's a English Dictionary try using before your idiotic comments. Gunboat is a generic term you nitwit!
Charming vessel. Thanks for sharing it with us. I must have missed the hull construction particulars regarding the species of planking and frames. Also what fasteners were used. Is she sheathed? Has she been refastened, recently surveyed? Thanks again for your offering today.
2 1/2 gallons per hour at 8 to 9 knots in a 48' yacht. Wow, I can afford fuel ! Now if someone can take care of the purchase, and slip fee plus maintenance, I'd be all set. Seriously though, this is about the nicest boat I've ever seen.
This a very nice classically styled power boat AND she's got a small sail rig. With enough breeze I wonder if she could actually sail into the wind? Beam reach? Or only down wind? Hmmmmm
Your channel offers such beautiful boats yet your style of presenting is tough to stomach. The list is too long for me to go over. By now Im sure you've heard them all..
Nice old boat…U know i love older boats….Live aboard, I love live aboards …Don’t think I would live on this boat…I have a question why do you wear shoes on boats in Canada?
Why is this called a trawler yacht? Doesn’t even look like one. It’s a very nice motor boat, but not one I would like to be caught in a rough sea in beyond say a force 4/5.

Of all the boating channels this guy reviews the trawlers/sailboats I like the best.

Rampart were owned by the designers family and they are still trading today in Southampton (Hamble) under Desty Marine, just down the road from me.
It's a beautiful motor yacht... And very reasonably priced..
But it needs larger fuel tanks... 2x76 gal. is too small for that size yacht...
This is a beautiful vessel
I really like this find thanks for sharing
That’s what I’m talking about! Beautiful!!!
Love this boat.... thanks for the tour!!
A nice classic boat for chugging around in with plenty of space , for the south coast of the UK . Thanks for your video .

@@mtnfordman That's what the stabilizing sail is for. Put it up and it'll reduce the side to side roll and give the boat a kinder motion.
Absolutely beautiful yacht!

It says the frames are oak and elm with 1" Iroko planking. Doesn't mention fasteners or sheathed / unsheathed.
The boom for the mast serves also as a davit for the tender.

Wow what a sweet old girl. I love old wooden boats cool
You’re absolutely right, she’s a stunning boat!
Gorgeous
Wow she's stiill in good codition after 50 years.
Your hair is looking good!
Weird
😂😂😂 so brave of you fighting trees. They must be very evil ones. 😂😂😂
Are you in the Pacific NW in this vlog ? This a really cool boat !

Its just to steady the motion in a sea
Frikin BEAUTIFUL.
Cheers to you.
She has done a lot of cruising, but with only 1100 & 1300 hours on the engines, I am surprised.
Sus
Wow the prices of some of these OLD boats are crazy. This shouldn’t go over $50,000.
Absolutely NOT a trawler style
Yep. She's just a regular old powerboat hull, albeit with an, erm, interesting layout
Great Content
Beautiful boat, but I wouldn't be able to afford the maintenance...
nice
Are we calling everything a trawler nowadays???!!!
The boat's just a little narrow compared to others.
I would guess that's because of her age. Younger boats are built wider and offer more interior space.
That makes sense. Either way, that yacht is still big enough to live on.
Narrower hull get better hull speed as they don't really plane.
15 knots on 250 hp isn't to shabby.
Whow…I thought I’d seen Jesus with glasses.
Wow your hair. Are you transitioning?
I read this ship was originally owned by John Wayne. True?
John Wayne owned a converted minesweeper named the wild goose. Not this boat.
What's that flag?
Trawler??????
Coastal cruiser but she has the lines of a N Sea crossing vessel ... Classic lines Peter from sailing with Gordie would love this one.
$160,000??? What's wrong with it?
30k would stretch the imagination. It's oldy moldy and beyond its expiration date.
don't give up the day job! you should watch some pro's so you can learn the proper way to describe a boat that was not good at all.

Nice boat, but for a 50 year old boat, it is overpriced.
Not a trawler!
Trawler style… what the h are you talking about??? Just play music…
whats with the girly hair do
When did he go Jesus Mode? 😀
