Yacht Description: "There are very few yachts whose grace, elegance and class cut through the world of yachting to be perceived as a thing of beauty by all who see them. SHENANDOAH OF SARK is one such yacht. The very embodiment of the golden age of sail, she turns heads and wins hearts wherever she goes.
To be on board, then, is something very special indeed. With the sails set and drawing, there is an undeniable sense of exhilaration as she leans into the waves and forges gracefully on powered by nature alone. From the family-friendly, line-free guest cockpit at the heart of the action, you can watch as her talented, highly experienced crew trims and tunes the sails to extract every tenth of a knot. At anchor, her wide-open deck spaces present limitless options for relaxation, entertainment and generally being the centre of attention.
The yacht's gifted chef will serve up delicious fare from lunch on deck to beach BBQs to banquets below at the yacht's formal dining room as the saloon's baby grand piano plays. Take the tender ashore to explore delightful port towns as the sun sets or relax with a movie night on board. After another day's exceptional sailing and the sort of glamour that brought Vogue on board for a fashion shoot, you and your guests can retire to four versatile suites including a sumptuous full-beam master cabin and prepare for another day.
SHENANDOAH OF SARK combines the authenticity of a bygone era, over a century of sail, with the modern amenities that deliver the full luxury of a modern yacht charter. This is a yacht that inspires passion and she has been cherished and relentlessly maintained to deliver the ultimate sailing yacht experience every time."

As being a former captain of a traditionally rigged topsail schooner and staysail schooners, Shenandoah of Sark is a beautiful vessel. My ears did kinda hurt though while watching this video - it is a saloon not a salon, a salon is where ladies go to get their hair done. It is amazing how well she is kept up, but of course having a ton load of money makes all the difference. I am pleased there are still people around that appreciate these vessels to keep them alive for everyone to enjoy. Not minding the minor nautical terms, the video was a quite entertaining listing, and I thank you.
To be fair, salon is also a term for a gathering room in a home, and both terms are from the French word “salon” for hall and both define the gathering space.
@@swesttttt Saloon is the traditional use of the term for use aboard ships. Salon is inappropriate in nautical terms. You are welcome to look up the definition for both, but Salon is used incorrectly when referring to the space on vessels.
@@captglenn100 I know. You’d stated that a salon “was where ladies go to get their hair done”. I was pointing out that it’s also the term for grand hall or gathering space, and that the etymological root was the same word as saloon. Pronunciation aside.
@@swesttttt I guess you had to be there. "A salon is a place where ladies get their hair done." is a phrase that sailors use when they hear someone call it a salon. I did not mean to infer that there are not other places called a salon. But a ship's saloon is a saloon and always has been. I guess some modern folks like the word better than saloon though.
It's like calling those things you play golf with "golf sticks" or calling a baseball bat a "Club".
I think the point is that it’s such a luxurious yacht, it is a salon and not a saloon. I can’t imagine calling a beautiful room onboard the Titanic a “saloon” 😂
I really am impressed with the quality of the filming and camera work. I would love to see Mikey get his own episode where he talks about filming, gear, challenges etc for the various locations, perhaps you both talk a little bit about editing, a little behind the scenes presentation perhaps.
that's a great idea! thanks for sharing!
I agree! This would be a great idea if Mikey could do this!
@@EnesYilmazer please make it happen
@@EnesYilmazer Dude, don't do this. Putting aside the fact that you literally said that "since it's a charter" they can offer you other sports than sailing like a Laser (omg dude lol), I truly urge you not to define the cost ratio of a 6K maximum to buy a Sony body, a Sigma lens, and to pay your camera tech. Putting aside the fact that you transparently have no clue what you're talking about when it comes to sailboats, if you've been hired to try to sell the shitshow that is "the one," wouldn't you do everything to hide that your investment ratio is 1:50,000.
Honestly, if you invested 10k into this video alone, you would be working with a 1:1000 profit ratio, and your filming equipment is certainly not 10k nice, nor is your hired camera tech's work good enough to make up that descrepency.
Honestly, you should just continue pandering your complete lack of understanding of anything to high schoolers and idiot trust fund kids without disclosing your profit ratio. Because truly, youtube has given an ultimate pathway to success for fuckin' idiots who would review a 10m$ yacht without understanding that a laser is also a sailboat😂😂😂

Sounds like a good Enes Plus video
im a woodworker and I am speechless of what an amazing piece of art this is. This is exceptionally beautiful creation. wow
Touring a historic sailboat? Wow, what a refreshingly jaw-dropping departure from your luxury house tours! Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Also really nice they both clearly enjoyed the sailing a lot. Primordial feeling was a good way to describe it.
I first saw this yacht in the 1960s. Majestic is the only way to describe how she moves, under full sail, across the waters to her destination.
Great good luck to the future caretaker of this magnificent piece of naval history.
I completely agree! Majestic and magnificent are exactly what came to mind when I watched this!

The cinematography behind this tour is next level. Amazing!

So glad there are people with the kind of money and passion that it takes to keep such an amazing piece of history in such immaculate condition. This is a truly beautiful piece of history/art/craftsmanship/engineering and a testament to the human spirit.
This vessel under full sail is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Absolutely unbelievably gorgeous! To go sailing on this vessel has to be a magical experience. I couldn’t imagine. 10 thumbs up!
This yacht is like a working work of art. There's something really beautiful about sailing ships. And you guys really captured some beautiful footage of it! That title shot at 1:43 is gorgeous!
glad you liked that detail!
Agreed, and in my eyes not even Sailing Yacht A touches the beauty of Shenandoah of Sark.
@@davidhunternyc1
Sailing Yacht A is profoundly ugly. Even its name is ugly. Shenandoah is breathtakingly gorgeous, with a name to match.
@@danielschechter8130 Shenandoah of Sark also happens to be about 60,000,000 USD less money as well. To be honest I also appreciate Shenandoah far more than A. Shenandoah has far more history, elegance and a timeless nature about her.
Agreed. I’ve been at sea 30 years. Granted sailing high not for me. But this is a thing of beauty.

A timeless masterpiece, beautifully maintained. I can only imagine the feeling one gets when she's driving under full sail.
Beautiful ship and super work on your part. When you board her, you know you are on a ship, rather then on a floating luxury condo. Lots of character and style, something that lots of modern yachts are are missing. She can go places, explore and have an adventure, rather then floating from luxury marina to luxury marina. Beautiful! I spent few years sailing around the world and always enjoy your videos.
Cheers, well done.
well said! thank you for the support!
This isn't just an episode of your show anymore. This is an experience! Thank you. I'm kind of speechless right now. What a captivating beautiful yacht. A vessel like this is the embodiment of freedom.
makes us happy to hear that!
Wow, this seriously takes my breath away...I would love to have an opportunity to ride this timeless yacht (over 120 years old) it's very well kept displaying the history as well as having a modern touch to it...It's like 2 worlds combined into 1, that's priceless in my opinion. Thank you for this episode Enes Yilmazer! truly one of a kind!

@@EnesYilmazer I'm glad you replied 🙂 so someone in the comment section suggested this: Wow, that was quite the journey, I really hope to see you one day producing a series for Netflex for timeless properties, houses, yachts, cars. As a sailor i totally share your opinion about the tranquilety and the tickle it gives you to use the powers of nature in your sence with respect for its possibly destructive power. And this historic wood makes it even more of a unic feeling! A wonderful tour, love how you pointed out all the finishing details
Gorgeous. Love the history, library, piano, wood. Classic. Lovely.
Mikey’s cinematography is one the main reasons why this channel is being subscribed and watched by a lot of people. Congratulations Enes and Mikey. Hope you can visit Bacolod City, Philippines soon.

The ship is just stunning, Mikey your filming is impeccable as always, Enes and nobody can hold the knowledge of what you are showing us the way you do. Thanks guys this was truly wonderful Love from NY.
thank you for the kind words!
@@EnesYilmazer Can you do submarines?
@@EnesYilmazer what's your email?
Yes, the ship is stunning. Enes needs to learn a few things about boats and sailing vessels. A toilet is a head, a window is called a porthole, the steering wheel is actually called the helm or wheel, and the vessel doesn't lean over it heels over. He mentioned that the deck in one location was made of pine, he called it hardwood. Pine is not hardwood. Very interesting and a truly beautiful sailboat and a good tour, but let's be nautical in the narrative.
Wait for ten years. Ships like this need an awful lot of TLC. You never know if she will be a wreck, only ten years from now.
What??? Only 10 million for a piece of history that has been fully restored??? Wow. This yacht is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for the great tour Enes and Mikey
this is one of most beautiful and treasured sailing vessel very unique and original having something like this I'm on old soul too so I will be madly in love with it I love the natural wood finished The music collection is amazing just like I had furnitures in my home which I'm planning to repair and kept them in gallery a of them maybe a 100 year old and I heard the captain speak about two men lost at sea the story is the same similar story that happens to two men from Jamaica 🇯🇲 i think it was 11 years ago I was their hairstylist 10 days they lost boat failure and they were saved by some crew members they were well feed and dry clean clothing god bless you guys 😇🙏🏾🎶thank you enes for sharing the beautiful video 👍🏾
I have been watching for almost 2 years, it gets better every time. I saw multiple houses with aspects that i would like in my dream home
You are the best! Thanks
That moved me to tears.. repeatedly, the scenes you captured were spellbinding, the legacy of a such a ship is a treasure in and of itself. Thank-you so much fellas 😅
thank you so much!
I love love and love sailing boats of every kind, but this one is so special! The history, engineering, craftsmanship, silence, skill it takes to manouver it through the water, and the fact that it can move just with the help of wind, all these things just impress me so much. A ship like this can last multiple lifetimes and won't harm us, animals or the environment while sailing. I can't imagine what an honor it must be to be the captain of such a treasure!. Also, I've just discovered your channel and the quality of this video is so good, great job! And seeing a channel with over 2.5 million subscribers where comments still get answered is great, makes me feel like you really care about what you viewers have to say.
Beautiful just beautiful WOW what a amazing vessel. The new vessel will never compare. Thanks for sharing much appreciated.
Honestly this yacht looks way more classy and relaxing than most new yachts. Probably very expensive to crew and maintain but well worth it! I hope Shenandoah will sail for at least a 120 more years!
I agree! She looks so much better than modern yachts.
I checked online and it's "historic", so not really true. After the restoration it has space for only 10-11 people. On historically accurate vessel you would need at least double that, but preferrably even more if you want to do longer stints and let the crew change/have some people to overlook port manouvres. It's restored to look very luxurious and there's nothing wrong with it. It looks great. I bet they use some of the old parts, but trying to sell it as "historic" is a bit irritating.
I'm surprised
if you guys even have time to sleep. All the tours, all the studying, all the editing, all the replies. It's been nice to watch not only your tours but your growth over the two and a bit years. Looking forward to see what you guys do in England.

I had no idea that I was interested in 120-year old yachts - until NOW! Great job once again, Enes and Mikey!
Check out Sampson Boat Co and the restoration of Tally Ho!
Right now I'm rather green with envy that you got to film and stay on board her she's one beautiful lady with such craftsmanship and detailing even on things that serve such a simple function. Enes you are quite right there is nothing like sailing and having to read and feel the wind and the currents through the helm. Your choice of shots to show off the crew working show just how much hard work it can take to sail such a large vessel, the editing and music choice for this video have been amazing.
Simply beautiful, this ship is a clear example of timeless style. Congrats to Enes and Mikey on producing this video, the creative work doesn't go unnoticed. Awesome job!
Never could understand motor yacht owners. Sailing over the 35-knot winds is the most exiting experience which never gets boring.
It´s the comfort, some people can´t handle the leaning but want to be in the ocean. Also cruise liners are terrible, regardless if you have a state room or not.
@@MrSilverfish12 Regarding comfort, i have to mention that sailboats are more stable on the waves. Sails and keel stabilise vessel.
What an amazing ship! Such a blend of elemental power, majesty and exquisite decor and craftsmanship. Has she ever been to the UK? I could just imagine her sailing on my beloved West Coast of Scotland. She would really fit in with the sublime scenery. I can imagine her storming before a strong wind through the Sound of Mull with the stunning mountain backdrop and coming into Oban's beautiful harbour.
For me, this is the grooviest walk through you and Miky have ever shown us. The yacht itself was enough, being a sailor myself, but the time you took to better understand the names and the workings of the ship was quite impressive. The Shenandoah is without a doubt one of the most beautiful sailboats in the history of sailing.
Amazing yacht, so timeless and so much heritage. Loved the stories that the captain was telling too! If only the yacht itself could speak... oh the stories it could tell over the last 120 years!
Gorgeous!! Love the variety! From mansions to historic yachts, just wow !! Always knocking it out the park with these tours.
I‘ve been on a few sailing yachts and I can smell this video. There was always a soft hint of fresh varnish and I figured it was redone regularly to keep surfaces protected from the winds. Also the reason why everything always looks perfectly polished.
Congratulations Ene's and your team for what is I think the best walkthrough of a yacht I have ever seen and I probably spend more time than I should looking at boats on UA-cam. Shenandoah is for me the most beautiful yacht in the world and I'm delighted you have done her justice

So beautiful. I sailed on an all-wooden two-masted 72 foot staysail schooner (cannot remember the name) from Bermuda to Newport, RI in 1976 in OpSail '76. Will never forget that with all the other tall ships fading into the light sea fog at the start. These schooners are classic old school. Their best point of sail is a broad reach in about 12 knots of wind. So nice. Thanks for the memories. I wish you all the best for funding of all kinds into the future to preserve this treasure for our children.

she is unique and magnificent, and i could not imagine the operating costs. the cost of this ship would be almost irrelevant in comparison to over all costs throughout ownership.
1 million euros a year probably if staffed year around would be my guess..
@@belledetector . Which for many is peanuts.
It costs over 100k euros per week to lease her (including crew, I assume), so 1 million per year for maintenance and operation is probably a pretty good guess. Also, I've heard that annual maintenance and operation expenses are generally about 10% of the purchase price for a boat in Shenandoah's class, and she being sold for $10 million.
