It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil! The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! But wisdom is justified of her children."

    I agree with you about Justin Peters not accepting non-Charismatic, non-Calvinist Christians as true believers. I was a member of his fans' Facebook page and they muted me because I have many Facebook friends who are Pentecostals and Charismatics, many of whom who are active in the ministry. Peters and his fans are too judgemental.

      It's because he is genuinely not saved. He's enslaved and imprisoned by his religious pride. The dude's got multiple demons running around in there using him to spread his false gospel, destroy the faith of new Christians, and keep others like himself trapped and dead in their pride. If he was just in error it wouldn't be as bad, but he is willfully deceptive and knows it. And when that is the case it is not of the Spirit of God. Justin Peter's logic reminds me of people who point out that God is present everywhere when someone refers to the fact that God is present in a certain place. Obviously, that's true, but if you look at the Holy Scriptures you will see that there are different senses of the presence of God. Certain places can become particularly associated with the Presence of God above all other places that are not normally associated in such a way.

      Exactly. The kind of love dominating the entirety of Justin(my dear brother in Christ)'s attacks on our brothers and sisters who confess Christ crucified (II John 1) but somehow disagree with Justin's theology, is more akin to that of an abusive husband beating up on his wife because she can't get it through her head how much he loves her, than the love of the Father.
      The Church, the Bride, the body of Christ, WILL be known to the non-believers by our love one for another. Anyone who places an, "I know better..." piece of theology above love for the brethren walks out of balance. And, I pray that light comes alive in Justin as well as everyone else in these threads.

    So yeah, the "Holy Spirit activate" mantra, literally and emphatically speaking.
    God is always alive and will be. The third person of the Trinity will always be there in our lives.
    I admit there are great points emphasizing the importance of spiritual gifts for the believers and the Church. However, the woman who danced in Family Feud has a misplaced context in the few seconds of the clip. This phrase sounds like you are witnessing a cartoon character emitting common magic words from his/her mouth.
    If you are a true believer and continues to abide in the guidance of the Holy Spirit under the whole counsel, you wouldn't have to be crazy other than expressing, "Let Your will be done!"
    Charismatics are not weird, but we have to understand the fruits of the Spirit: Self-control.

Another time he was on top of the Temple contemplating jumping, just to see if His Father would catch Him. Another time he was walking around on top of the water following his friend's who were riding in a boat. And another time he was throwing tables over in the Temple and whipping people with a homemade whip. On another occasion he was standing near a dead man's tomb demanding he come out of it.

    Well, gotta agree with you, Rod on the ol Justin Peters. Yeah, the apostle Paul wrote (by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) in Phil. 1:9 "and this I pray; that your love may abound yet more and more in all knowledge and judgment." If we are growing in our judgment (discernment) we don't really need the Ol' Justin Peters to guide us. Is he trying to shame us concerning the gifts? Does he want us to defend every action and word of every Charismaniac? (I mean Charismatic) I voted for Donald Trump, does he expect me to defend every word (the Donald) says? Even Melania won't do that. He's almost the National Enquirer of the Cessationist/ Strange Fire conference. Whether you laugh or rage, there seems to be no rest. I would guess that the same group of easily amused Christians tune into Justin Peters to get the latest leavened bread. He seems puffed up against the Charismatics/ the Charismatic movement and to little avail. I'm not sure what good he imagines that he's doing. He doesn't seem to be a man of great understanding. No. He just seems ready to argue and hope that some will come to the Cessationist churches that he approves.

      In Luke 11:11-13 "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, for a fish will he give him a serpent? (12) Or if he ask him an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? (13) If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.
      This is an important scripture to hold on to concerning the suspicions that the Cessationist would like to bring into the Charismatic church services. If you are asking for the Holy Spirit and the gifts that are available, God the Father is not going to give you a (devil or demon) scorpion. The cessationist are desperate in their desire to keep people/christians out of Charismatic churches, that they've stooped to saying crazy things about services and the supposed counterfeit spirits that are supposedly going around. It happened in Jesus day, and that's the reason for that scripture. We don't have to fear getting anything less than something good from our Heavenly Father when we ask Him.
      No. Kenneth Copeland doesn't have another 'tongues' Be careful with what the cessationist are saying; trying to bring suspicions concerning their competition.

    Those who oppose the doctrines of Grace aka Calvinism, often speak sarcastically about predestination, The Elect, and the sovereignty of GOD. Clearly they have not done their research. I found 100 verses that speak directly about predestination and the Elect, and 100 verses that speak about the sovereignty of GOD, and that was just from looking at my Bible app. As R.C. Sproul has said repeatedly “Nothing occurs outside of the Will of GOD”, that includes, who will be saved, the Fall of Mankind, every evil done in the world…everything! GOD is never to be blamed for evil, and just because GOD ordains something, does not mean He stamps it with His approval. GOD’s sovereignty and predestining does not negate our freewill, in relation to our ability to make choices. Predestining, or Electing those who will be saved is not an act against our freewill, rather GOD changes the disposition of those He elects, that by nature is enmity against GOD to a new nature that desires Him. God has complete control; He is the one who, of His own sovereign will, freely chooses those whom He will save. He not only Elects those whom He will save, but He actually accomplishes their Salvation. Rather than simply make salvation possible, God chooses those whom He will save and then saves them, This view puts God in His proper place as Creator and Sovereign. Many claim that GOD would be unfair to save some, and pass over others, lets me clear about some facts, no one deserves Salvation, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. Romans 3:23. GOD does not owe anyone anything, and that certainly pertains to Salvation, what we deserve is Hell. We ignorantly cry out for justice, but what we really mean and want is mercy! Some people will receive mercy, others will receive justice, no one receives injustice with GOD.

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  Рік тому

      All Christians believe that God is sovereign, but we disagree on the implications of His sovereignty. Even Sproul acknowledged that. And all Christians believe that God predestines the elect to be conformed to the image of His Son in the resurrection, but we don't all see Calvinistic predestination in the Scriptures because nowhere does it say that God predestined some for heaven and some for hell from the beginning of time. If God were to ordain the fall (as per Calvinism and the "whatsoever" in the Westminster Confession) and then only provide atonement for a small minority (Limited Atonement) then that would mean that the vast majority of mankind fell into condemnation that they had no choice in, and will suffer for eternity as a result. That is in fact injustice, and that's why Calvinism is wrong.

I don't think this is what Jesus had in mind when he spoke of five in one household being divided, two against three, three against two. I have always entertained the idea He was referencing people in the Spirit--i.e., brothers and sisters in Christ known for their unity and love one for another--divided from nonbelievers in the world. I won't put that in stone; it's just what I've always thought. Albeit, these peoples' behaviors could explain the hatred epidemic within the ranks of the church. So if no one understands it must not be a known language. So much for your final point. As for your first point, nobody interpreted on the Day of Pentecost did they? You see, when tongues are manifested as a sign there's no need for an interpreter because people are hearing their own language being spoken. What Paul was referring to in 1 Cor. 14:26-28 was the gift of tongues in public assembly. He wasn't saying that every time you speak in tongues you need an interpreter. Only when you are gathered as the church. When you speak in tongues in your private devotion no interpreter is necessary because you're not around others who could be confused.

      @@JewandGreek He is though and you are easily deceived... you've literally defended Joel Osteen who thinks that homosexuals, Catholics and Mormons are going to heaven... you need to get into God's Word (kjv) and not any other books, trust that the Holy Ghost will reveal truth to you, as Scripture says.

    I think you are missing the point on what Justin Peter's is saying. He specifically is pointing out the weird people, and showing on video the crazy weird stuff they do! Justin did say that he believes God heals people, but not the way Sid, Benny, and Jesse Deplantis ECT do. I totally agree with brother Justin Peters.

      And I think you're missing the point. There's no basis in Scripture for calling your theological opponents weird. Justin is pushing a narrative, and he doesn't care about facts. What Chynna Phillips was saying was in no way suggesting that God is not active in the universe. That's absurd.

      Justin P does not believe the gift of healing still exists, even though it’s in the Bible - and nowhere in the Bible does it say the gifts ceased, unless you are actually in heaven, where they are not needed.

    Do you think Christmas Town exists in Heaven!?
    Why are charismatic weird!?

    • @JewandGreek
      @JewandGreek  Рік тому +1

      99.9% of charismatics don't believe in Christmas Town, but I suspect that you know that. Now, John MacArthur said that you can take the mark of the beast and still be saved. That's diametrically opposed to Scripture. John Piper said that God ordained 9/11, as well as the letters you get when you play Scrabble. That's pretty absurd, wouldn't you say? Voddie Baucham calls babies "vipers in diapers". That's outrageous. R. C. Sproul said that God damned Jesus on the cross. And then the ultimate Calvinist John Calvin had Servetus executed for denying the Trinity. You can't get much more outrageous than that.

    If you speak in tongues they still have to be understood by someone It’s nonsense. I like Justin Peters. I’ll bet he’s drawn more people to Jesus than what I’ve read today

      Tongues only need to be understood when they're manifested as a sign gift as on the Day of Pentecost. When you're speaking to God (1 Cor. 14:2) He understands but nobody else needs to. When you're speaking in a public gathering of believers nobody needs to understand but there needs to be an interpretation accompanying it. As for JP, he draws people away from continuationism but not necessarily to faith in Jesus. The vast majority of evangelism on the planet is done by charismatics.

      It's all subjective. I could just as easily ask "why are Calvinists so angry and mean?"
