David and Grace from Turtle Creek Wine and Spirits are awesome! They have a Great store in Bethlehem, Ga. I haven't visited their McFarland 400 store yet, but if it's anything like Turtle Creek, it's awesome!
loving the barrel pick videos more and more each time as i get to understand more how the process works! thanks for bringing us along as usual, boss man
Nice to have a local store put that much effort into their customers. I can’t complain one bit what I get (have acquired quite a few allocated bottles at retail mainly just Blantons, Weller SR, and Eagle Rare) but that store is a local grocer. They do have tasting every once in a blue moon but the guy who runs everything caters to the rich folks
I'll be down there doing our pick in a couple months. The Four Roses pick experience seems like the next best thing to a rickhouse barrel picking experience.
Video on Tuesday? Christmas came early this year :-) I will enjoy it today evening with a glass of 13th Colony Sour Mash Bourbon (discontinued edition)
You should shoot more videos with Kyle. The hunt you guys did together was great. I think he has a solid palate and can articulate his tasting notes very well.
@@fitter6362 right off 316 in bethlehem GA. Great selection and they do raffles for their allocated bottles. Buying a store pick gets you an entry into it.
Really been enjoying these videos lately. Been trying to get into whiskey more. I've been drinking bulleit rye for a while and now have tried Woodford rye and yesterday I tried the four roses small batch I didn't enjoy it much but honestly I meant to buy the small batch select that you like to recomend so maybe that was my bad or i just need to stick to rye 😂
I think you should come to Thomasville Ga. 1861 small distillery is here and we have some good spots to hunt for bourbon most stuff is at msrp love your videos just trying to get into bourbon
Yes i think the same also but...as a store, business wise, they need to pick a mashbill that suites most of the people palates...becouse they have to sell the bottles to make money. If the pick is somewhat unique some people may like and maybe alot of the people may not like it. Its a niche thing. Just my 2cents.
@@sorinsrn5442 I get that. I have an eagle rare sp that tastes nothing like eagle rare but in a good way. It’s a big investment for 200 bottles or so of bourbon. But I bet if brewzle or spillway got barrel #8 it would’ve been an instant sell out. It’s like Brewzle said, you don’t want to be basic. I bet you could sell way more picks by establishing yourself as an out of the ordinary store pick. I’m not sure how many regular sippers are going to spend $100 a bottle or something similar to what they can pick up on the shelf for less than half the price. Playing it safe to me just seems like the worst thing to do, I’ve seen it ruin many what could’ve been special barrel picks. I don’t own a store so maybe my opinion is invalid but it hurt to see Brewzle so heavily advocate barrel 8 and they’re like yeah my money I’m gonna do the safe pick 🤦♂️
I was going to grab a bottle of wild turkey 101 at Safeway when I spotted a single bottle of eagle rare 10 @ $39.99 This was the high point of my week I’m starting to think I have issues…
Not sure I’d ever video the pinnacle of all barrel picks which is Four Roses. Mandy is an incredible host and I’d be worried I’d offend her. Too each their own.
Technically about 275 - but an older barrel will have a lot less, depending on evaporation and how much soaks into the barrel wood. Really old barrels can end up less than half full, which is very common in Scotland, as they age a lot of their whisky for a long time. All of which of course affects price.

David and Grace are awesome! So nice! They are always so kind and thoughtful whenever we are in their store! Love them!
Brewzle hammered by the end 😂
Got that lazy tongue😅
Someone snatch up that barrel #8! I like this video and seeing the barrel pick process. Great job everyone.👍

The McFarland store is great too ... my favorite store picks come from them. I recently picked up their Jack Daniel's BP and BP Rye.
@DaveNorton-yi5ix , I do have one of McFarland's SBBP Rye's that I got at Turtle Creek and it's awesome!
What a lovely couple
loving the barrel pick videos more and more each time as i get to understand more how the process works! thanks for bringing us along as usual, boss man
Love having turtle creek nearby, great store
David and Grace are the nicest folks and generous to boot. Turtle Creek is my store for sure
Cole Cotton was in the Find a Unicorn Brewzle video. I think he was hunting when he was gifted that JJB Single Barrel.
Wasn’t he the Old Pogue guy (white t-shirt and hat)?
That’s correct

totally worth the watch, thanks for the show
I just picked up two OESV private selection from TW at 8 years 10 months at 119 from May this year. Fruite forward and love it! My first FR ps sbbs.
Nonstop content this week!
Love to see it
Turtle Creek crew seem like really cool people! Great video
I'll be down there doing our pick in a couple months. The Four Roses pick experience seems like the next best thing to a rickhouse barrel picking experience.
this is cool to see as somehow who is new into bourbon and has a small batch select from them

Cool setup and awesome people

Thank you that means a lot! I was just happy for the experience and getting to hangout with TJ for the week 😊

I love picking at Four Roses!! Can't wait to get back there in October for our 3rd Pick!!
Cool it, turbo.
?How much is one of these barrels
Seems like everybody gets to pick a barrel there. I see lots of barrel picks now a days at different stores. Pretty cool
@@thenajer911 not cheap lol I couldn't tell you exact costs, I dont know.
Great video! If I’m ever in the area, I’ll definitely spend money with turtle creek!
By far my favorite video!1 I don’t drink but I enjoy your content
Great video TJ, a place I hope to go someday. Thanks for your content and I am a proud Patreon, cheers!

I juat got a teir 6 single barrel four roses the other day and opened it last night. Amazing bottle !
Turtle Creek is one of my hometown spots. They always have great store picks.
Never heard of them?

To me, The small batch is pretty aggressive especially against the single barrel. . I haven't tried small select yet
Great vid thanks

I don't even drink bourbon or hardly at all, but I'm loving your videos dude. Might have to start into it
Turtle Creek you guys are awesome! Looked like a great time with the Four Roses folks.
David's reaction to the 135th LE bottle was amazing
Can't wait for this to hit the shelves will definitely be picking one up.
Enjoyable as usual
Hopefully their fall festival has some bangers!
I literally bought like 7 bottles of their Woodford Double Oak. It was amazing
Keep hunting and keep tasting .
Fall / winter is around the corner, drinking season.
Neat video, always wondered how a barrel pick would go down, cheers, and can you share some of the pocket whiskey with me PLS?
Turtle Creek is my old neighborhood in Omaha, NE. Auto-default-like!
Very cool….WAR EAGLE !!!
Not related to this video but I finally tried dickel. I like it
Good ol Bethlehem, Ga!

Dude I swear I’ve seen Kyle somewhere before this
I wish I had a palated that picked up all those flavors.😅
Brewzle picking and selling barrels for others now! Pay the man his cut.
When do you expect the bottles to arrive?
GOAT
"Bubblegum". I got that note with Russels Reserve which was a little disappointing.
IMO barrel picks should be unique. If I wanted a every day sipper, I’d get a regular 4 roses 🤷♂️

real question. Did any one see R2D2 in the background at 24:07? LOL Great video as always!
Nice video. Like how everything was done in breaking each glass.
Lol dudes just drank 10 glasses of whiskey in under 2 hours? Impressive that they aren't falling over!
Less than 10 oz total though
I do have a difficult time finding a single barrel cask strength in orlando, fl any pointers or leads?

the audio is no good at times
Does the presenter have warrants?
Apparently you need media training to be on camera at Four Roses!
Often times the presenter is not authorized to appear on camera on behalf of the organization. She asked to not be shown and we honored that request.
@Brewzle lol, was joking, but interesting to know
What's with the secretive Asians?
