You guys should check out Benny's beverage depot in Chicago, IL. It's a huge store with very good prices. I live in Detroit Michigan and I sometimes take a drive there to stock up my home bar.
😂😂😂. "I love you mom"! That was so cute! I live in Michigan....& do recognize some of the places you stopped at in Lake Orion. I live in Detroit ....usually find better prices my way....course it does depend on what you want! Lol. Red Breast 12 is good but that's whisky...lol.

In Europe we either have state monopoly liquor stores with ONLY alcohol in them or no state monopoly on liquor, in which case you simply buy liquor in the grocery stores.
Like the employee says, they need to compete. Buscemi’s is a local chain of liquor stores that usually have unique snacks but also make pizza, subs, and occasionally other things.
I was trying to put my finger on why I love this series so much , and you're right. Feels like old world interactions that we don't have since the pandemic even
You know, it isn’t the bourbon itself that makes your content so great. It’s your total all in passion for it. Love watching you get really into new bottles.
The beer barrel bourbon you saw is a bottle which is aged in some sort of barrel then taken out and a stout beer is aged in the barrel and then the bourbon is put back in the barrel and aged for a while longer. I liked it when I tried it. It’s an interesting taste from the stout. Definitely worth trying at least and I don’t think it’s too rare.
I’ve lived in Lake Orion my whole life and recognizing all the places you show is so amazing. I am glad you found Orion Keg and Wine it’s a great place!
alan put on a freakin show for you guys! glad you gave him some business. right in my backyard too! here we pronounce lake ore-eeyun instead of how it looks, o-ryan. just a lil tidbit for when you’re here next!
Alan D is my go to spot for liquor. Great selection of bourbon. He's not lying about how good the chicken fingers are. The pizza and cookies are also pretty damn good
True story. Back in my early days of my bourbon hunting when EH Taylor tornado surviving came out, it just sat on the shelf. I bought one bottle and didn't think it was even worth the 69 dollars I paid. I could have bought at least a case of it. Now, this guy sold 1 for 10000 dollars, LOL. I could have put my daughter through college with bourbon
Idk how, but a gas station near where I live had EH Taylor cured oak for only 300. I bought it to have a nice bottle for when I have guests, and I thought I overpaid for it. I didn't know until halfway through the bottle, a friend who came over looked it up and saw some bottles of the stuff going online for 10× the price 😱. I'm gonna have to go clear the shelf and find a way to resell those bad boys! Lol
Selling that bottle for 10k is a slap in the face of whatever customer bought it or anyone else that shops there honestly. Above secondary pricing, bundles of shit people don't even want, no better way to disrespect your customers than to overcharge them and make them buy stuff they don't want in order to get something they do want. Throwing money at those kinds of stores as though nothing's wrong is the worst thing you can do. It empowers them to keep fucking over their customers due to their greed
Great video documenting your bourbon haul! At 21:00 minutes into the video I say a McKenna SB BiB 10-year that I paid about $62 for in San Antonio, TX recently and absolutely love it! The only thing it lacked for my taste was viscosity - would have liked a bit more. Other than that, I am kicking myself for not running right back that same day to grab another one!
Traverse City Barrel proof bourbon is very good! You can't go wrong with Michigan made whiskey. Iron Fish Distillery and Journeyman Distillery also make some incredible products.
Pretty amazing that a channel i've been subbed to for some time, visited one of my favorite shops. Zetouna is hands down one of the best shops in that metro area. Lived there for about a decade, went to all of it in the area. Jack really knows his stuff. 10/10 would recommend. Also strong (STRONG) production recommendation... you got two mics, throw one onto the other person speaking or add in a shotgun.
This has to be my favorite, Michigan is my home! As a Bartender though I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't pick up the Beer Barrel Bourbon! New Holland, the distillery that makes it, has a fantastic selection of products. Iron Fish has to be my favorite Michigan Distillery overall and obviously you know about Valentine with their Pingree lineup. Other good local groups that I'd not hesitate to pickup would be Journeyman and Gypsy!
@@DtownBlade313 hey I'm in Detroit until the end of August. You tell me where to go in Detroit proper and I'll go within the next week and reply with my opinion of wherever you tell me to go
These are my home town stores - I'm surprised they didn't take you over to Twisted Oak over on John R & Avon Roads. Great selection and prices as well.
At 23:04 that new holland beer barrel bourbon is one weird interesting bottle. I tried to find some online after trying one a friend had. Good stuff and they make great barrel aged stouts.
At the Red Wagon Shoppe, you showed two scotches I really like, the Aberlour 12 year (40%ABV, 80 proof) wich is really nice, and hanging out right beside it is the Aberlour A'bunadh, which is a recreation of an original recipe. They are usually ~60% ABV or 120 proof. The A'bunadh is really nice, and I highly recommend it.
My god I’m so jealous of all these bottles you get in the States. As a UK resident who is upgrading his Scotch collection to include bourbon it always hurts seeing this when our selections are so limited. I’m desperate for a Stagg Jr and the Redwood Empire Cask Strengths.
But we are lucky to not have to pay those prices even on secondary for the stuff we have. Eagle Rare in almost any grocery store for £37, Blanton's everywhere online, including gold and SFTB. Quality over quantity.
Yeah we have a much narrower selection, but I was amazed then I first found this channel that Americans can't find buffalo trace / eagle rare/ makers mark / knob creek 12, reliably in liquor stores. I can have them at a non marked up retail price from my local store anytime I want them.
@@grimacresYour comment isn't really relevant. The "drunks" already have access to all the alcohol they want since for them, getting inebriated is the goal of the drinking. For the majority of Whiskey enthusiasts, inebriation is not the goal per se, but rather we love to enjoy the different notes and flavors we get.
It's nuts to see you stop in the store in my hometown, that whistle store was my main spot for less-than-common bottles. Hope you enjoyed your time in the metro Detroit area! I don't miss it too bad but good memories there.

Also... Brewzle, You need to hunt in California. It seems like the gold rush for brown water runs deep there. Tequila is blowing up SUPER hard and CA seems to have transitioned mostly away from bourbon again so Stagg is even sitting on shelves in grocery stores (not long but that is still crazy). I'm headed to Monterey, CA pretty soon and I'm very curious to hit up a few shops.
Brew I am so excited. Live near Houston. Been drinking bourbon for 8 months. Did all the $30 or less and enjoyed. Strongest so far is Bonded 100. I could never find any Barrel Proof as always sold out. I just drove to Northeast Texas and stopped by some rural stores and found me a Larceny A123 and a ECBP C923. Decided to add a 4R Small Batch Select and a Rare Breed. I have not tried any of these yet. so excited but nervous about the heat.
man I love watching you spend money Brewzle !! You know you made it when they got you on the TV in the liquor store and the fix you chicken fingers just don't get any better than that
Missed out on the Highland Park 18 and Octomore at Red Wagon. The Lagavulin 16 is really good. Smells like smoked bacon and sea salt. The Lagavulin Distiller's Edition is non age statement whisky finished in PX sherry casks to round it out. It's solid. The Lagavulin 8 is also really good. More smoke though which probably isn't your thing.
The price gouging in MI for bourbon is insane, especially in SE MI. Those store have a great selection, but marking up Buffalo Trace to $37 is greedy.. I live in Northern Mi, and can regularly find Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare for state minimum pricing at box stores and grocery stores. I found Pappy 12 at Costco in TC. The liquor stores in Petoskey also get a good selection of allocated stuff at state pricing, but you have to inquire sometime. I watched a guy come in and ask what special bottles they had without buying anything else. I asked the same question as I was checking out with other bottles. I got a Weller and 1.75 Eagle Rare for my efforts.
@34:08. Always been a fan of the ECBP. I steer away from the C9s but really enjoy the B5s. That would have been $90ish well spent for an older B5 but I’d have passed for that C9.
Iron Fish is fantastic!! They're an awesome Michigan farm distillery. Their Mad Angler series is the best MI-made bourbon IMO (Bottled in Bond or Two Peninsulas if you can find it)! If you're still in state, I'll venmo you to get one for the hunt ;D

You skipped on two james distillery. I don't know if shopping local made brands is your thing, or if you focus on the name brands. But two james makes amazing whiskey, and a great price, and its local made. Consider trying their stuff. Growing up, I played in the family corn field they use to make their grass widow so drinking it feels heart warming, and it has such a unique flavor :)
I'm a MI guy, grew up in Detroit. When I turned 21 a buddy and myself started trying all kinds of different bottles, we'd get a bottle or 2 and try it out all weekend long and then next week try something else. I've had only a couple bottles that were a couple hundred dollars every once and a while but nothing north of about $350-$400 on rare occasions or maybe split the price with my buddy. That being said, my absolute personal favorite has always been Buffalo Trace ever since I tried it, and it's one of my buddy's favorites too, it's just so damn smooth and thankfully it was a cheap bottle in comparison to just about everything else we tried so we came back to it fairly often.
I kept a display shelf unit for all our finished bottles, like a trophy rack. It kind of hurt moving away and letting that go but it was just too much space.
As a bourbon guy I can appreciate this video, glad I came across your content. If you find yourself coming to Iowa I can line you up with the right spots. Iowa hosts a surprisingly large number of whiskey and bourbon distillers. We got stuff here you WONT find anywhere else in the world...and we are wayy less expensive
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale…. It’s Kentucky Irish Red Ale aged in Bourbon barrels… worth a try and definitely drink is cold! Another good mixed drink is Red Stag and Dr. Pepper mixed 50/50 on the rocks. Smooth but can sit ya down if ya have too much.
Ive been watching you since around February this year so interesting to see you come to Michigan I live right next to one of these stores glad you enjoyed the area so much
As far as RD1 goes... we just did a "tour" of their place in Lexington and the green label Amburana Oak finished stuff is super unique and cool tasting. Lots of honey overtones. Definitely worth the $60-$70 price tag. 110 proof.
You need to go check out the wine depot in Sterling heights Michigan at the corner of Hall road (M59) and Schoenherr IF THEY DON'T HAVE IT NOBODY DOES.
Hey there brewzle! I work in the industry and I just wanted to stop by for you and give you a little insider knowledge. There is a big up-and-coming brand out there called Bhakta that is making waves in the industry. They previously made Brandy and Armagnac but not too long ago they released a blended ‘100 Year Rye’ which is great, but the real gem is the brand new bourbon they just released called the ‘2013 Bourbon’ so if you see them around then don’t pass it up because they are a very cool pickup and a solid product.
Someone mentioned Butter Pecan ole smoky! That’s what I’m sippin on as a native to the Appalachian mountains it’s made in Gatlinburg whereas I’m from Bristol about an hour away. It’s outstanding!
The folks at Orion are lovely! Seem like such great people, I 1000% would have asked them for dinner recommendations next time! The Lebanese and Mediterranean food up there is untouched. They will blow your mind on some grape leaves, lamb shank, kibbeh etc sir!
Also good: Red Wagon and Off The Wagon in Troy. Buscemi's in Troy is a tiny party store with a shockingly good selection as well, but prices are a tad higher. Beverage Warehouse in Beverly Hills has a good selection, too.
If you're ever up in Michigan. Grand Blanc Mi just south of Flint Mi. Try Whigville Market in Grand Blanc. Also just down the road is Oliver T's Market, Grand Blanc Mi. Your in for a surprise with what they have in stock!
I like to vacation in Mich. I have been to Buffalo trace enough time to take every tour they offer several time. And I have been in the botting house where they bottle Blantons, Elmer , E.H. Taylor and Eagle Rare. On at least 2 of my tours they were bottling Eagle Rare 1.75 bottles. They call them "The Weekender". I havent seen them in the wild, but I have bought a Weller S.R and a Weller 107. I do drink what I buy, but I have to admit I am keeping those in the back for a while.
Mayor Pingree is made by Valentine distillery in Ferndale, MI not too far from Lake Orion. They have a world class ranked vodka and the Pingree is also wonderful
Alan D’s is the one. you can get every single thing you need without walking a mile around a grocery store. top notch food too. great guys there happy they got put on.
Scotch drinker pass by, the Talisker 25 showed up on 19:45 really draw my attention, its old package and i wonder what year of release, if its older cask strength bottling, 679 is a nice deal according to nowday secondary price
That Johnny Smoking Gun is not designed to be drank neat…but at the distillery, they have an apricot cocktail that features it and it was one of the tastiest and most unique things I’d tasted in a long time!
Brooooo I absolutely loved this video !! Need to do more like this ! Can’t believe some of the shops you have in the US bourbon heaven ! If ever you fancy taking a guy from England real bourbon shopping hit me up 🤙🏼
I'm so happy most people sleep on and or just outright do not like Dickel because I keep seeing quite a few of the 11 & 13 year BiB as well as the 15year SiB and they are in my top favorites of my 75 or so bottles.
Stout beer gets aged in barrels pretty frequently and when bourbon gets double aged (oaked) in a stout barrel, it can become chocolatey and very delicious. Brewzle missed out on that one at the 7:38 mark.

Growing up, I played in the family corn field they use to make their grass widow so drinking it feels heart warming, and it has such a unique flavor :)
Smoking gun is really bad tho lol
It’s insane to me that Eagle Rare is so expensive in the Midwest when I can pick it up at my local liquor store for $18
Good Ol'. ... Red Stag is my favorite..Dark black cherry SMOOTH Bourbon!!!!My Dads fav is Old Grandad. He said always has been..always will..
Love these videos, keep them coming. And don't pretend you don't love buying all those bottles haha
What a pain the butt to have everything behind the counters.
every inch of space in a store is directly related to selling potential. you don't waste space.
They may as well just say please don’t purchase
Love orion keg, I live right up the road! Awesome to see you support them, I’ve never watched your channel but will be now
As a liquor retailer, nothing personal, but we hate it when we have people come in with cameras asking for allocated.
😭😭😭😭😭
Gotta sell it somehow
Is it because you don't want to have to say how much you're gouging on the prices?
As a bourbon guy I can appreciate this video, glad I came across your content. If you find yourself coming to Iowa I can line you up with the right spots. Iowa hosts a surprisingly large number of whiskey and bourbon distillers. We got stuff here you WONT find anywhere else in the world...and we are wayy less expensive
Flat out enjoyable content through and through
23:36 ❤ welcome in my glasses anytime Gota❤JW 33:09 Absolutely Great Vibes made me want to have them as my store WOW 👍 even have 🐓 🍪
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale…. It’s Kentucky Irish Red Ale aged in Bourbon barrels… worth a try and definitely drink is cold!
Another good mixed drink is Red Stag and Dr. Pepper mixed 50/50 on the rocks. Smooth but can sit ya down if ya have too much.
Ive been watching you since around February this year so interesting to see you come to Michigan I live right next to one of these stores glad you enjoyed the area so much
Macs Liqior in Taylor Michigan on pardee and northline roads . Well stocked. Ask for Johnny.
You're talking about a 1.75 litre of Eagle Rare not outside of the bottling warehouse, I HAD a 1.75L store pick Eagle Rare. It just got polished off.
As far as RD1 goes... we just did a "tour" of their place in Lexington and the green label Amburana Oak finished stuff is super unique and cool tasting. Lots of honey overtones. Definitely worth the $60-$70 price tag. 110 proof.
I enjoy seeing some of the bigger bottles selling looking forward to seeing the review videos of them later on!
33:29 it’s Utica just in case anyone can’t find Ultica Michigan. lol
As a native Michigander, I came to make this comment 😂
The best Stout are aged in Barrels. So barrel aging beer is very common
I absolutely love the Knob Creek twice barreled Rye. Pick one up next time you see it
Scotch drinker pass by, the Talisker 25 showed up on 19:45 really draw my attention, its old package and i wonder what year of release, if its older cask strength bottling, 679 is a nice deal according to nowday secondary price
That Johnny Smoking Gun is not designed to be drank neat…but at the distillery, they have an apricot cocktail that features it and it was one of the tastiest and most unique things I’d tasted in a long time!
The Iron Fish finished in Maple barrels is AMAZING!
i didn't knew that a guy buying whiskey could be so entertaining, i haven't had a sip of whiskey in 5 years
Brooooo I absolutely loved this video !! Need to do more like this ! Can’t believe some of the shops you have in the US bourbon heaven ! If ever you fancy taking a guy from England real bourbon shopping hit me up 🤙🏼
That widow Jane 10 year Anniversary edition is one of the best on their lineup... The 10 extra proof makes a huge difference!
I'm so happy most people sleep on and or just outright do not like Dickel because I keep seeing quite a few of the 11 & 13 year BiB as well as the 15year SiB and they are in my top favorites of my 75 or so bottles.
The RD one regular bourbon is fantastic and the horse soldiers are great my buddy and myself have gone through a few
Stout beer gets aged in barrels pretty frequently and when bourbon gets double aged (oaked) in a stout barrel, it can become chocolatey and very delicious. Brewzle missed out on that one at the 7:38 mark.
