I love how "you fucking asshole" and "shut up" were clear as day
It’s universal basic.
This means that non-native english speakers understand when someone says "you fucking asshole" and "shut up"
Lol! When a non-English speaker watches a movie, they understand these words!
I am a retired speech therapist. I have listened to more gibberish than most people. Listening to this was fun for me. My analytical side kicks in and I start to dissect. “What’s going on here? What sounds am I hearing? What sounds might be missing? What is the context of the conversation and what can intonation tell me?” The first thing I noticed was the lack of consonants. I worked for many years with children from 3 years to 10. Listening to this reminded me of a three year old who spoke only in vowels, but all the intonation was there, for example, having them the sing the ABC song. I knew what they were saying because of the context, which only highlighted what was missing. Another thing I noticed was how slurred the words sounded, words sliding into one another without definite boundaries. I love listening to other languages that I don’t know. You can sense the rhythms, some sound very staccato and others like waves lightly going up and down.

Yup
I like doing that with music. What I hear is usually much more interesting than what is actually playing.
It's the way they speak it that makes it sound like English. The cadence, and the tone, the emotion. Everything. Helps that they put real words in there occasionally, or write gibberish that sounds like real words when said quickly.
Specifically, English spoken by an American.
That's the point. There are words many would hear in a movie and latch onto, like the filler words that are constantly used, or the cussing because those are fun to learn. It's the perspective of the equivalent of someone hearing Japanese after watching many, many animes. Like.. it's the point of the video and for so long, people don't understand the point of the video or simply say the obvious.
@@akaviral5476 If I'm stating the obvious, it's because I, as someone who only speaks English, still think it sounds like English, despite knowing none of it means anything. And that's pretty cool, honestly.
As a Turkish, this was the language that i was using when i was prentending like "I'm singing an english song" when i was a child.

as someone with auditory processing issues, this is like, scarily accurate to what i hear in everyday conversations sometimes ngl, like the whole time i was just constructing sentences in my head based off of the sounds and context clues cos thats how i go about comprehending things in real life when i cant properly understand what i hear. seriously watching this felt so much like trying to understand conversation irl; the way i could catch a few recognisable words or phrases but some of them made no sense with the context, certain recognisable, significant phrases really popping out (specifically, the insults and swears), and the way the words all slurred together. massive props to the creators, this is really impressive!! i’ll probably use this video in the future as an example to explain to people what my auditory processing issues are like to experience because this is genuinely the most accurate representation of how it feels. this is a really well-made film and the way the lines were constructed like, linguistically is really interesting

The script and specifically the execution is super exceptional. For one, it's incredibly hard to intentionally talk respectable gibberish consistently for so long all while acting, and to add another layer of difficulty, they pronounced common words that even very very new non-English speakers know (what, today, swear words, ...) very clearly. So this is genuinely super close to how English sounds to non-English speakers that know the basics. But the execution was CLEAN.
Reminds me of back then when i didn't understand english and english songs were played in the radio.

So, there is this mix of Spanish and French called Catalan. And to spanish speakers it produces an effect in which, if we hear Catalan, we can absolutely swear to god it is Spanish and it activates all the parts of the brain related to language but -at the same time - cant comprehend anything or make out a single word. This video reminded me of it, but it's actually much worse.
