I will never not be proud of what we did with GH2DX. My copy of that physical disc is one of my most prized possessions.
The combination of GMS breaking the strum limit and the debug ELF for GH2 being found in the 80s prototype is really what spawned what became Deluxe. We wanted to put the strum limit fixes out there in a way where it was kinda obvious the game was modded (hence why we did so many other visual changes, even in 1.0).
Fun fact: the original name for Deluxe was going to be "GH2: Community Edition". I forget if it was me or jnack who came up with the Deluxe name, I'd have to look through the old MHX1 archive. That original name is still reflected in the "game ID" of Deluxe, which for 1.0 was GHCE-00001.
Fun fact 2: I was already working on a janky method to increase the strum limit before the strum limit fix and the debug ELF dropped (in a predecessor project I was calling "SuperGH2") by speeding up the beatmatcher to 200% and then feeding it half speed charts and audio forced to 22kHz. The first ever NTSC Trogdor FC with unmodified hardware happened on that build of SuperGH2. I cancelled SuperGH2 when GH2DX started development.
Track speed changing and making things easier/harder is the Rhythm Game equivalent of changing your FoV in an FPS. Higher FoVs makes you feel like you're running faster than lower FoVs. When really, gameplay isn't changed.

You can also use the black wiidow v4 & blue indigo v4 authorization port with your standard xplorer and use it like a Arduino guitar. I was using my xplorer on ps5 to play RB4 recently. 1st player green light on and everything, plugged into the auth port on my blue indigo

I can also confirm the RB 4 lag spike thing. Even on a jailbroken PS4, which doesn't connect to PSN or the Rock Band servers whatsoever, if the PS4 ethernet cable is connected to my router I get a lag spike every so often. Until now I thought it was just me!

as a certified RB4 gamer, I can confirm that the game has been very laggy recently. Slow menus and lag spikes are getting worse every week.

YARG has circle theme gems now, they've been a thing and available for a couple months now. RB Gems are default for each new profile created, the circle theme needs to be selected for each profile.
The GH II Deluxe website has a link to an archive which stores the 1.0 version as well as other goodies. In 2.0 some songs, such as War Pigs, Push Push (Lady Lightning) and Less Talk More Rokk, had the Rock Band charts for some reason, so I used the 1.0 files to restore the original charts back into 2.0. It worked, but now some songs freeze when playing on original hardware. This issue probably has something to do with me having 0 experience at making custom isos.
