Flake (flaw-kah) on keys can walk up to 17 miles per show. And while Till looks scary...he is a soft spoken, well educated and rather shy poet. Who can also kick your ass real bad! Loved this, thanks!

The difficulty of pronouncing the "e" in "ke" is that in English words, such as "enemy", that "e" is pronounced like the "ä" with the 2 dots above the "a" in German and therefore there is no English example word for it.

I love it when people think of Till Lindemann a certain way. He was expected to be an Olympic swimmer until he left the sport due to injury before the games in 1980. He's also a poet and once worked as a basket weaver.
Whatever people think about him from his appearance, they're almost always going to be wrong lol
On Wikipedia it says that he wasn't allowed to go because he left the hotel in Italy during the Europacup, and got some Stickers from the "Klassenfeind (Capitalists)".

Till is a total badass. As others have stated, he was a basket weaver, Olympic bound swimmer, poet and Father. His alpha male persona fits the band perfectly, yet he is a very intelligent, reflective and mild mannered man. You truly couldn't ask for a better front man for a hard rock band, yet he is much more than that. I have huge respect for him as a person.
the keyboardist Flake says he gets bored just standing at the boards so he likes to walk to the beat...fyi..Flake still hasnt joined the band officially, he still hasnt given them the answer to 'do you want to join the band'...Flake is also the only band member who gets to do whatever the hell he wants to onstage. read up about him for more

What? Just saw them live in Prague and I'm pretty sure he's very aware of the act and what he has to do with the band without getting killed by the pyros hahaha.

Rammstein is a must see live, even if you are not the biggest fan you will get the experience of a lifetime. Such a great stage show

I noticed that both of you and Dolly were in awe during Pyros. Rammstein is known for its Pyros! Lead singer, Til Lindenmann is also a licensed Pyrotech Expert. Noticed that they are covered in gel. Gel protects the band from being burned. Reason for Til being licensed Pyrotech, there was an incident with some in the audience were burned from failed pyros in 1996. Til works with a crew of technicians make sure all pyros are safely designed. Fans of their shows can feel the heat from their pyros.
Forget the heat. I got a suntan from standing at the front. Manchester Men Arena, Reise Riese tour... Was a feast for the eyes and senses in general. And Rammstein crowds are awesome. Saw a granny, legit granny who was dressed in leather, enter the mosh pit. They (the pit) let her mosh without interference and some actively kept an eye on her in case she fell. But she didn't.
To this day my eyes still cannot believe what they saw. Epic.

Rammstein does not wear any kind of protective gel. At some point I believe Till and maybe some other members had something fire-retardant in their hair, but I don't believe they even do that anymore.
So, if you see anything on them, it's either makeup or sweat.

The singer Till Lindemann is not only a singer and poet he has been a trained pyrotechnician since 1996. After explosive and fire performances became the core element of the stage show at Rammstein concerts and often resulted in injuries to fans and musicians in the initial phase, he acquired a so-called pyro certificate. So he know what he is doing.
The blood on the lead singer arm is came from their performance of the song called Mein Teil before this song. Hope you can do a reaction of that song too: Mein Teil- live at Hurricane Festival and see how pyro maniac they are 😂

In addition to the fake blood from a previous song performance, the band coats themselves in an oily looking substance that is a fire retardant. Waaay back in the day, they used to coat their hair in Desitin, the baby diaper rash cream...also. fire retardant.
The blood on Till is from an eariler song on the setlist called "Mein Teil" ( REACT TO THAT TOO, I'd love to see you guys react to that haha). And the reason why Till is shiny is because he has flame retardant on which will protect him from the fire and flames ( in fact, all the members have it on, so Till is extra careful and ensures the safety of himself and his bandmates ). They have it on for basically the whole show, I'm sure it gets HOT on the stage, with all the lighting and pryotechiques and fireworks, etc.
Nope, the flame retardant gel thing is a myth. You'll only see references to it in comments youtube videos. They've never actually talked about something like that themselves.They're shiny, it's due to sweat from the heat.

The flares he fired are on wires so they hit the targets. Probably too dangerous otherwise even with Till's expertise. Most amazing and awesome band ever!!!

You've got to love their stage shows, it's because they know a lot of non-german speakers won't get the wordplay in their lyrics, so they go all out on their theatrics.
They played a festival here in the UK a while back, the amount of pyro they said they were going to use forced the airport adjacent to the festival site to do all aircraft movements from the other end of the runway.
Have a look at their stadium show build time-lapse, they've gone even more over the top over the years.
Til is a professional and would never fire a gun at his audience. That was a rocket launcher.
Seen them here in Winnipeg Canada and their concert was hands down the best concert ever and I'm over 50 years old and seen many concerts. This video is exactly what they do in concert. Til also wears metal angel wings with flame throwers on the end... if u get a chance see them. I would pay $300 to see them again!!

The ‘glitter blood’ is gel to stop the band getting burnt. It’s not a ‘gun’ - it’s pyrotechnics
Just think that this video shows an entire arena in France singing in German. Also with the lightning - while it was digitally added in for the video, during their live concerts he does have a Tesla coil behind him and wears rings to get actual electric sparks to his hands

Till Lindemann, the lead vocalist, is covered in flame retardant gel, since they’re using fire. Although some of it (the red parts in the crook of the inner elbows and on his forearms and hands) is most likely from another performed song, Mein Teil, where he’s supposed to be covered in ‘blood’, because he was practically drenched in it

The fireworks are "Flying Pigeons" basically a modified rocket motor on a wire.
Dont usually go for this heavy thrash head pounding music. But this band is something else they are hypnotic and know how to get the crowd in the palm of their hands

Edit: I'm just jokling ( ;) ) Till is known to be one of the nicest persons you could propably meet. Oh, and if you want to check out more reactions of the crowd to Rammstein, you propably should check out "Haifisch" (Rock am Ring), "Ramm4" (Hellfest), ""Ich tu dir weh" or "Engel" (both at MSG) and "Ich will" (Hurricane 2016) Apart from that, *ALL* live performances of Rammstein are amazingly impressive. Literally, *all* of them.
The shiny stuff on them is actually flame redardent gel due to the sheer power of the pyrotechnics Rammstein use. (Till is a licenses pyotechnician)

Everything that happens on stage is out of Till's head. Every little part comes from his pen as in a screenplay author. For someone who is afraid of the stage, his performance is not bad or ;-)

In short the song is dealing with the wedding oath. Yet Till Lindemann, who is responsible for pretty all of their lyrics (after the other bandmembers have put their riffs into a melody) liked it to start with a chanting about owning and hating, as if the "merry age" wouldn't last long because that formal contract might turn love in its opposite...
So Till is playing with the 3 different alterations of "hast". Before the upcoming wedding oath "Willst thou...", they use it as a temporal proverb "THOU HAST / ME / ASKED". But "hast" is also 2nd person singular form of both verbs "to have" and "to hate". So depending on its context, that stripped down line can either be translated as "you / hate / me" or "you / have (own) / me" (as the full verb "to have" translates also in "to own").
Pretty near at the end, there's a tricky and even by native speakers overheard variation within the wedding oath verse. While in English THE is the only definite article, German has half a dozen variations of it: "der, die, das, des, dem, den", which enables those gender-sensitive articles to also work as WHO or WHICH to create a relative clause if being set right behind a nomen with the same gender, like in: "Willst du bis DER Tod, DER scheidet, ..."/Willst thou until death, which is parting (..be true and faithful to her for all time). Just by deleting the last letter "T" from scheideT, the verb is turned into its noun "Scheide" (Sheath), which is not only the cover for a blade in German, but also the official term of "vagina". So in "Der Tod DER Scheide" the second DER doesn't start a relative clause anymore, but becomes the Genitive singular article for the female term vagina now !!! "...until the death OF THE vagina" like willst thou be still true and faithful, even when sex doesn't matter anymore ?
P.S. In a matrix of 3 genders x 4 cases x 2 numbers, there are 24 variations to fill in with only 6 articles. That means that the six forms of the definite article need to be used more than once. In detail DER / DIE / DAS is male/female/neuter in Nominativ singular, while in Nominative plural all genders use "DIE". While "DES" is the definitive article in Genitive singular, but for female nomen. There and for Genitive plural "DER" is used. Finally "DEN" is the definitve article for nomen in Dative and Accusativ, but in Dative singular, when it's replaced by "DEM".

Btw, this insane pyro and fireworks were not exclusive to this Paris DVD. They do it in every show. That's why they sell out almost immediately and why it's not exactly a cheap show.

The action with the fireworks did not even take place in a stadium but in a hall ( Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy ) and would be unthinkable in America due to their immense safety regulations. If they go on tour there, the fans miss out on a lot and will never get to see really wicked effects !
At some point Ramstein discovered that you can make up with instant coffee. According to concentration, black to red spots appear, which looks like dirt or blood. Flake was hyper nervous all the time during an earlier tour. What did he forget ? That he was made up with lots of coffee in the evening during every concert 😂 - Maybe the reason why he needs a treadmill 😄😉 But without Flake Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more. It´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds almost like any metal band. Together with the typical Rammstein monster guitar riffs the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this Rammstein sound so unique !
I grew up with DEEP PURPLE and a lot of progressive rock like from YES, GENESIS, PINK FLOYD, KING CRIMSON, ELP.... and the later emerging metal hype never interested me because I found it pure noise but Rammstein stand out so pleasantly because they prove that hard music can also be melodic and complex.👍
Now not necessarily "Du Hast" but e.g. "Sonne", Dalai Lama", "Donaukinder", "Spring", "Ohne Dich"...............
And until today I might bite myself in the butt that I jumped on the Rammstein train so late !
The most epic thing with this performance is 50K Frenchmen singing the lyrics like they're Germans

Flake, the keyboarder often got bored during their stage performanes with so little to do for him. That's also why he plays the part of the fool and does all kinds of stage theatrics.
Flake asked the other members to give him the treadmill because he plays the synths which are very repetitive. That's not something I made up to diss Rammstein. It's something they themselves said during an interview: they WANTED their music to be repetitive.
The synth parts are often simple and widely interspersed in the songs.
That it worked out well for them can be seen by fans noting that ALL reactors to this performance note sometime during their videos: "Is he on a treadmill?" or something similar.

From an Interwiev with Flake : As a keyboard player, I'm untethered on stage. I can just go off and do something at all the places where I'm not playing. The guitarists have their guitar - until they have taken it off (...) and have the transmitter off - they can't get into the boat like that or make shenanigans.(...)

The whole pyrotechnic is controlled by Nicolai Sabottka, the ideas comes from Till Lindemann - he is a trained pyrotechnican
