The thing to remember about rape fantasies is that they are FANTASIES. Which means that they're happening in a person's head. She is the God of the world she's created. She's imagining herself being attacked, but it is entirely on her own terms. She created her attacker, and everything he does is exactly what she wants him to do. The imaginary victim in her head might not be consenting, but the person having the fantasy is, because she is the one who is causing the event to occur by imagining it. The instant she's not into it anymore, all she has to do is think about something else and it's over. She has 100% control.
Which is why a rape fantasy is pretty much the opposite of a rape reality.

For guys who are having trouble understanding women's rape fantasy: Compare it it to a man's fantasy of rescuing a woman from danger. In real life, rape is often borne from the perpetrator's frustration and anger toward the other person, and it's a violent attack that is too marred with fear and pain on the victim's part to ever be desirable, in that context. There's a huge disparity between what our bodies can handle and what we fantasise about, and Laci's totally right in that it has to do with our culture.

There was a fourth possible explanation for some rape fantasies that occurred to me... I haven't fantasized about being raped, per se, but I've had fantasies that came pretty close, and for me it was about the idea that someone could want me so badly that they acted selfishly, disregarding my own feelings. I like being bossed around for a similar reason-something in me feels like if you need me to do something so badly that you won't factor in whether I actually want to do it, you must really need me to do it, and feeling needed like that is a turn-on for me.

I think there's an extra difference between rape fantasies and rape. In a rape fantasy, even though you imagine yourself without control, you're actually in control of what's happening, because you're the one thinking it. In actual rape, it goes without saying, you don't have any sort of control. You can stop a rape fantasy at any point where it becomes uncomfortable, you always know what happens next, and nothing that actually makes you miserable makes its way into the fantasy.

Would like to suggest that, potentially, women who are in dominant or straight-laced, rule-bound positions by society or by their chosen line of work, may have rape fantasies as a way of allowing themselves to be dominated or powerless instead of being dominant or powerful.
