VIDEO SUMMARY:
In this video I respond to requests to explain how to shave your pubic hair. I begin by expressing hesitation to show people how to do something which often happens as a result of outside pressure and advise that if you do not want to shave, you shouldn't. For those that do, I offer a method to get a smooth, non-painful shave on your pubic area. The method I lay out has helped me to avoid razor bumps and ingrown hairs. For pubic hair removal, more than shaving, I prefer using hair removal creams, although they don't come out as smooth. - Розваги
It's okay if you want to shave, do whatever makes you happy, I'm all for it, but we REALLY need to stop with the whole "it's gross to have hair" or "it's unattractive to have hair." It's not gross. It's not unattractive. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAIR. We have become a weird, hairless obsessed society and having hair is not bizarre. It's not abnormal. It's natural. Girls and boys should not have to shave, whether they're sexually active or not.
***** I don't think it's necessarily gross, but I like how it looks when a woman is shaven. Doesn't mean I won't find a woman attractive if she isn't clean shaven, but I find it attractive. Nothing wrong with it either way. Only a problem when people are outright shaming people for having hair.

Ok I don't always shave because I can't be bothered lol but I personally find pubes a big turn off :/ I'm not evil, I'm not "brainwashed", it's just a preference. If a man expected me to shave, I'd expect him to aswell. I don't like all the comments saying "REAL women shave", "you look like a child if you shave", "you're a pedo if you liked shaved women"; that's just as bad as calling someone disgusting for not shaving. It's all about preference- some prefer hairy, some prefer shaved.
And some just don't care at all if you shave or not.
I heat body hair especially pubes I shaved my whole body arms legs chest and pubes and if I'm with a woman that shaves too skin on skin action feels much better 😉

I used to find the creams to be pretty useful, because the hairlessness lasted longer than shaving. The last time I used a cream, though, I ended up leaving it on a bit too long (in part because it can take a while to put on, so by the time you're done with one bit the other bit is ready, but you can't clean it off because the other bit's in the way), and got burned pretty badly. It's funny, though, because not everywhere had problems - my calves hurt terribly, but the bikini line, where it had been on longer, was just fine. I was ok with that, though, since I'd rather have uncomfortable calves than uncomfortable upper thighs.
So, uh, be careful with hair removal creams!
inrii that happened to me my thighs were cut up for days and they burned!! i waited too long and it just ruined everything. my skin is too sensitive for shaving and it grows back so quickly so i'm just stuck right now!
I think im the most dangerous lady part shaver. I do not prep with trimming or exfoliation, i shave upwards, i shave the inner lips, and sidenote i shave back and forth when i shave my thighs 😳 its amazing ive never had a bad cut on my vagina

I never ask a girl to shave, I prefer that they don't actually. But I hate girls who pressure me to do it. I had one girl that stopped having sex with me because I refused to shaved there. I didn't yield. 2 months went by and she broke it off with me, saying I was unsanitary and disrespectful among other things. Haha I laugh looking back at it, so ridiculous.

as a guy my opinion is: it doesnt matter. if you really dont like that hair then that is up to you but dont shave for some guy, they probably dont care or have some preconceived notion that they should think it needs to be shaved but it really doesnt, really just think of what a healthy natural version of your body; completely unaltered but healthy. using that you can solve pretty much what the most attractive state of any part of your body is.

pubic hair actually keeps your genitals sanitary. we grow hair down there so it doesn't itch because of friction. we'd get rashes all the time. its also a sign that you have sexually matured which is very attractive. It also shows that your very healthy and your body is capable of growing what you conveniently need. I really don't appreciate it when both men and women tell me it is gross that I do not shave. We have hair there for a reason. It protects the vagina!! Like eyelashes and eyebrows protect our eyes. When I went through puberty, I was so ashamed of my pubic hair and shaved it always, always dealing with the itchiness of the hair growing back. Ingrown hairs. You name it. Until one day, I said, F*ck it. Why should I have to go through this torture?? I just recently started shaving down there and I got some really helpful tips from my mom! she said that instead of using shaving cream, you should use conditioner. also after you've toweled off, put on non scented deodorant in the direction your hair grows. that helps with itching and irritation

yes any conditioner or deodorant should work as long as the deodorant is unscented. i don't remember what brand i used but i don't think it would make a difference.

So if someone asks how to shave your pubes you wont give them advice because you don't want to force a pube shaving ideal on them, but you're perfectly okay with telling them how much you love bushes. That doesn't make ANY sense. Personally, I HATE pubic hair. I find it unsanitary, dsigusting and personally painful. So I shave. That doesn't mean that I'm being "forced" by anyone to shave anything. I do it because I want to myself. And if someone asked me for advice, I'd give it because there's nothing wrong with helping someone.
Disgusting* and before anyone says "How is it unsanitary do you not shower?" I have thick thighs, I live near the hottest part of California. I drink about 4 pints of water a day, so I fucking sweat. And I always found having periods while having pubes was absolutely painful because I'm not going to sit there and wash myself 5 times a day to avoid get dried period blood stuck in unnecessary hair. So yeah. That's why it's unsanitary for ME. Most girls don't seem to either have these problems or mind them. I do.

Men definitely should remove their body hair. They would look and feel way better.
A tip for anyone with razor burn in the bikini area: my number one natural remedy for this is a small scoop of coconut oil with tea tree oil mixed in. Both oils will moisturize the area, and tea tree is a natural disinfectant and an anti-inflammatory so it will help those bumps reduce while preventing infection. The coconut oil is mostly used as a carrier oil, but it has disinfectant qualities as well. You could probably different kinds of oil as well. Coconut oil IS comedogenic though, so if you break put easily, you might wanna try something different. Anyway, this is my favorite remedy and works flawlessly for me. Put it on at night and the razor burn will be almost gone by the morning. Just avoid getting tea tree on your actual lady bits as it will burn like crazy.
I don't think hair removing cream is a good thing to use down there.
I once tried hair remover cream for my legs,mouth it basically conditioned the hairs instead of ridding them. I think it's false advertisement

Taffy Reviews I use Nair and it works okay for me. Hair removal creams don't work as well for super hairy people but I don't have much hair so when I'm lazy I use that. I will say, razors work much better. Also I'm sure there are creams specifically to use around genitals and ones for sensitive skin.

It's honestly not good to use anywhere. My mom and I bought it and tried to use it for the summer and it burned us. She has a lot thinner and paler skin then me do her burn was worse, even for me it hurt like hell though

I once tried veet for my legs. It says you have to wait a few minutes and then remove it. I think it says ten? Or five?
The things is, I only had to wait for half because I looked down and I saw little circles of blood on my calves. I washed it quickly off and the hair came off well but some of the skin was lacerated... it looked like I had five or six tiny circled scabs I scratched off.
Don't even have to ask myself again if I would use veet for my pubes because the answer is a resounding "NO! YOU'LL DIE!"

I think this would be less of an issue of people just walked around naked all the time. Think about it. Some men have beards. Others are clean-shaven. Because men's faces aren't covered, we get used to seeing some men with facial hair and others without, which reinforces the idea that facial hair is optional. We'd probably have the same attitudes about pubic hair if we saw everyone's.
I would prefer not seeing pubic hair at all. I have seen enough untrimmed pubic hair for a lifetime.

And to go with the "not just for ladies" bit, I have always freaking hated shaving my pubes.
For awhile, I did. Because when misogynistic women expectations are put on you, before you figure all that crap out completely, you feel good to see your "worth" in some ways. Which because of misogyny means with women and people forced into women roles, that your worth is dependent on how attractive you look. And shaving is just one of those things.
So I felt pressured to do it. It actually made me feel really vulnerable, it made me sore, I hated the look of myself because I felt too "feminine"/it looked too "feminine". But I convinced myself I liked it because I was tired of being the unattractive non-conforming person at that point in my life. And like a backhanded compliment, it *sort of* made me feel good to know in some ways my body/appearance was accepted. It put me on the held high side of the horrible expectation for vaginas. I bought into the misogyny and shame around vaginas and pubes a lot.
After figuring out I was trans*, I realized how terrible and gross and out of place shaving made me feel. I always realized I didn't have to before, and the dislike was still there before subconsciously and ignored mostly, but it still made me feel free to feel sort of escaped from that pressure (~male privilege~).
Bottom line is do whatever you want with your body, and don't let yourself be forced into or pressured into the misogyny and female objectification of needing to look a certain way to be worthy, better, worse, wrong, right. Your body, your rules. Have fun.

Hey ladies! Question... When I only shave in the direction of hair growth, it does feel smooth when I run my hand in that direction... But obviously if I rub my hand (or my husband rubs his hand) in an upward motion, it feels like a five o'clock shadow... Very rough! So.... Do you just break the rules and shave against hair growth for a smoother effect, or do you have another suggestion? Thanks for reading this in 2015! The best technique I've found is to shave on the right horizontally to the left, stopping to leave a strip in the middle, then on the left shavings towards the right horizontally stopping to leave a strip in the middle. then shave the middle strip and run the razor down in the direction of the hair growth across the whole triangle area. just something to try!

I like to shave (because I like having smooth skin) and my parent never buy shaving foam. My mom says 'just use soap.' I did for a bit and I got razor burn and cut myself a couple times doing that. I use conditioner on my legs and stuff until I can buy shaving cream from myself. ;-;
Goodness gracious, your mom needs to learn a thing or two about shaving down there. NEVER use soap on your genitals unless you want a yeast infection. Warm water is all you need 👌🏻 and conditioner works really well.

If your skin is sensitive that could've caused it too. Just tell your mom and don't be embarrassed it's a very normal thing that has happened to many people 😊

I recommend only trying when your scrotum is loose, not wrinkly and tense. It varies. Make sure you're not aroused, and that you're not cold. When I feel really cold, my scrotum gets all tight and it hurts.
Low-grade sandpaper is the answer my man. My balls are now shiny and smooth.
You need to stretch your scrotum out when shaving there.

I shave when and cause I want to. My boyfriend likes it both ways! He doesn't care either way. Which I like because in my opinion if a guy or girl tells you it's gross for you to have hair, they're messed up in the head. EVERYONE HAS HAIR! I shave when it gets too big for me, but sometimes I'll go a couple months without shaving! It's not bad either way.

But still, no matter how we "style" our pubic hair, keeping the area clean with soap and water daily is of huge importance in staying clean and infection free.

Personally, I feel cleaner after I shave, but everyone has their preference. I used to use shaving cream but it would irritate my skin and I'd accidentally cut myself down there. I use a bit of water & hair conditioner as an alternative and I haven't had any problems. I do the same thing with my legs too.
Hair removal cream? Holy shit.... would that work on scrotum hair? My life is most prominently punctuated by the moments of unmitigated terror where I have to wield a sharpened blade against my scrot'.
If you've never used hair removal cream, I would say don't for the love of god drive straight into using it somewhere so sensitive. It basically works by chemically burning away the hair, so on a sensitive area of skin it can be quite painful. It also doesn't give spectacular results, so personally I don't find it's worth it, but that's something to judge for yourself. I'd use some on your leg or somewhere less sensitive to see how you find it before lathering it all over your scrotum XD

When I shave mine, I like to use the Venus Spa Breeze razors with the shave gel bars. They work super well and I would definitely recommend them.

Get laser hair removal (can get good deal on groupon). It'll make your skin feel baby smooth. Trust me, it'll change your life if you hate the pubes.
For people considering laser, it hurts like hell, and it hurts eeeevery time. Also, the zone will be irritated and uncomfortable for a while. You also really need to apply yourself and go as kind of like a regimen so that the hair starts to grow less.

It also helps to lighten your skin (in case it had those dark stains that sometimes form), but it reaaaaaaaaally hurts, a lot, and for it to have an effect you need to be very strict.

Nahchuva Honestly? The first time I got lazer was at the age of 14. I was extremely insecure about my stomach hairs since I was a very hairy girl and my mother respected that and took me for an appointment. I would say that the pain was pretty surprising, but hurt less than waxing. Also, the pain only lasted a second, and at least I didn't have to live with those nasty red spots you get with waxing. needless to say, I did it for the winter and even though the hair grew back, it was much thinner and no ingrown hairs were peeking out. I actually recommend it if you have any kind of pain tolerance. hurts WAY less in the end. I would just recommend not to do it in the summer. I don't remember exactly, but I think the skin gets really dark in the sun. Hope I helped!

Shower and get whatever you need to get done first. THEN fill a warm bath and shave that area while submerged. I don't use shaving cream and I've found that this method works without irritation. Afterwards, just rinse out the tub. I've found this works best with a detachable shower head, but there are other ways of course.

I've never shaved before, too afraid of using razors to cut myself - that even includes my legs. So I use hair removal cream for my legs and arm pits. For my pubic hair, I used to always get a brazilian wax but boy it would KILL! The "v" area hurt the most! So I haven't gotten a brazilian at all this year, I've only trimmed the hair. Guys have told me that having some hair actually tastes better for them when having oral! - Just putting it out there! ;)

Yup, I did that mistake with the disposable razor. Now I usually just stick to a trimmer I picked up from the drugstore. If I want to do a close shave I'll have to try your suggestions.
Toner works well for preventing razor burn! Toner then unscented lotion as you would for an acne regime. Don't apply the toner near the inner labia, just on the top triangle shaped patch. Hope it helps!
Just grow it out. Get past that 5 o clock shadow and then maintain with a trim when necessary. I don't think as many men care as some of you think. No matter how carefully its done you probably still have micro abrasions. If the guy is doing it too then same for him. What a great way to spread herpes or whatever else it would increase the chance of contracting.

veet is amazing ive had several horrible experiences with shaving. my hair on my face and everywhere else does not seem to follow the rule of growing in one direction so to get a clean shave and not shred my skin is next to impossible down there. i have super sensitive skin so i was very very nervous to try veet on my privates but surprisingly it wasnt bad at all maybe a tiny bit of discomfort but well worth it for the amazingly smooth feeling. if you have trouble with razors i highly recommend and laci said it doesnt get a close shave but i think it depends on the person i usually cant feel any hair at all after.

As a guy, I don't like having a lot of pube growth down there. I will shave my balls but be ever so gentle doing so. With the "George" , I mean Bush, I like to use a hair or beard trimmer and shave it nice and short maybe a 1 clip or occasionally without the clip. If I want a change I'll do the same but will use a disposable razor and shave it all.
The mistake many people do is shave against the grain or growth causing redness, soreness and ingrown hair. Go with the grain and you will NOT have any problems at all. I know I don't. Use shaving cream or whatever you use.
I'm not hairy overall and use sorbolene cream when I shave my face or otherwise, it moisturizes at the same time.
but for women, when we don't shave against the growth it's gonna look ok, BUT FEEL AWFUL. you'll be able to feel it. and hair feels sharp and terrible when it's cut/just starting to grow back. if that's what it takes not to have redness and shit, why the fuck bother shaving at all o.o when hair is properly grown [not a huge bush but just you know, after a week] it feels fucking smooth! so much better than when it's growing.

Probably in other comments but I'm laze so I just wanna still had DO NOT PUT HAIR REMOVAL CREAM ON YOUR GENITALS. You can use it for the big patch on top and use a razor or close trim for the rest.
