Lots of love union workers getting a lot of work. That destroys the “no locals benefited from the race” narrative. Also without the race, those unions that went on strike would not have had so much leverage to get there demands so quick.
I think the construction workers made out pretty well. I don't know for sure, but I'm hoping they hit the jackpot with overtime.
@@OneManOneCamera I didn’t know that Vegas was a big union town until I moved there. Well after I left I should’ve say.
Next year will be better 😊 the first time is always the hardest.
I hope so. It was the traffic issues and the high priced tickets that ticked people off. I wonder if making the Sphere Zone a locals area, with lower priced tickets, show your Nevada ID to get in, would have been something possible. That would have been exciting.

Yeah it's very strange that the simple things like removing everything from the pedestrian bridges weren't done first. They need to get this stuff cleared out by Superbowl time, it's right around the customer. Unfortunately by the time the stuff is taken time it will be time to do it all over again🤷🏾♀️. Because this is on the strip it will be a nuisance every year.
I'm surprised they didn't have teams of people hitting those bridges first thing Sunday morning after the race. Poor planning. Yeah, the Superbowl is coming to town and the Raiders will be watching with envious eyes.

haha! I found one of those metal covers while on my way to the Strip on race night. If I was carrying a backpack, I might've took it with me. lol
Much as I watch F1 I think it was a waste to tie up the people in the city. They could have made a purpose built track and ran it out of the Las Vegas speedway. They do that down in Miami so what difference is it to build a track on the outside. You can put palm trees and trim it all out. Not only that you can use it for other racing events like IndyCar, IMSA,WEC and possibly MotoGP. You can still have the attractiveness of the city and host things downtown and not inconvenience the citizens of Las Vegas. And just think eventually if this race is going to come back again the citizens are going to have to go through all this again.
Also to add on to my comment they could have at least pave the other side of the strip it looks horrible.
On the money comment. I purpose built track out there by the speedway or a few miles past the M Resort would have been nice. Manage it well and have as many events as possible and everyone wins.

Will you be getting footage at the Durango and Fontainebleau grand opening? I miss my every 6-8 week Vegas trips so much, was planning on coming Dec 17th but it looks like it's still too messed. Haven't been since June😢.
Yep! Durango opens at 10am tomorrow to the public, but I can't get there until around 2pm or so. Hopefully, the connection will be good from the interior. I want to try one of the restaurants in their Food Hall.
Fontainebleau will have their private event from 8pm on the 13th with the public allowed in at midnight. I bet that will be a zoo and I will be there too. lol.
I bet those every 6-8 week trips helped you to relax...
@OneManOneCamera I'm sure both days are going to be crazy because everyone once to be the first. I swear I find Vegas so relaxing, but anything away from home always feels like a vacation. And I usually do all the driving getting there so that starts the relaxation.
Is the Mirage volcano still up? If so, any word as to when it'll be replaced?
It's still up but no show until the grand stand is removed. After that, I'm not sure of the timeline, but it's scheduled to be torn down for the Hard Rock transformation.
