That Astro really has seen a lot by the looks.. Love these older cars. I used to spend my childhood in a junkyard.. In Vermont it's illegal to have a junkyard without a permit.. But mostly it was the fact that none of the cars were registered... For some reason they had to be registered... That and some yuppie from another state flew over in a helicopter and whined about the junk cars saying it was bad for the environment.. while they were right... they ruined my fun.. I loved searching the old cars.. my favorite was the El Camino because that's where I found a ton of porcupine quills in the cab.. There were several other cars there too... mostly cars from the 70's and 80's.. and a little ways away from our property sat a frame to an old model T.. which sadly rotted away in the woods.. it never was cleaned out.. just evaporated into dust
My first thought when I see something like a totally rusted out un-roadworthy 35 year old Astro is where are these things coming from? Have they been rotting away in someones yard for 20 years and finally being sent to the junkyard?
@@brentboswell1294 There are a few other white wall tires from different companies that you can still get, I got a set of Tigar Paw white walls for my Ranger a few years ago.
Light-colored cars (white, silver and gray) are usually primed with gray primer, which traditionally is less durable than the red primer used on darker-colored cars (you'll notice the Buick had bad spots in its paint, too). And newer cars with clearcoat paint are even more sensitive to fading and peeling than older models
It has to do with the manufacturers switching from solvent based paints to water based paints, and paint manufacturers like 3M and PPG telling manufacturers that the old solvent based paint preparation techniques didn't have to change (patently false).
Look at the Chevrolet Express van. If it's white it's probably peeling somewhere! Most companies cheap out on white paint since you can do it single-stage and call it a day
I thought they will have to turn in the tags to the Department of Motor Vehicles .. the original owners.... This makes me so sad , as I remember when all of these cars were brand new.

That's some great memories
Had a 87’ GMC Safari. That sucker ran for 477k miles before giving up.
wow that '86 astro van looks RATHER CLEAN to be CRUSHED ! wow i saw ZERO body /paint damage on her*
I had one of those Astro vans for my work truck. It was all right drove for years. After that they gave me a pickup. Good stuff. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
I would've taken those cool mudflaps from that Astro if I lived in Wiscy.
The astro van looked real nice! 👍
Great footage, Thanks for posting.
Poor Astro
Wow you can fit so much in an astro!
Nice hope to see more very soon!
I love when the glass shatters when the machine crushes the cars. So satisfying.
Can't wait for the next video
Question. What was the one car you had to crush that bothered you the most? The one that you had to crush that you didn’t want to.
out of these? the '88 Skylark of course lost my virginity in a '91 Skylark . Had a wild crush on Jennifer.
Awesome video keep them coming 😎

Must've been. Whitewall tires are pretty hard to get since about 2015 or so....Hankook was the last company that sold whitewall radials in the USA 😉

Many of these cars have vegetation growing on roof. Probably been on the lot for 10-20 years before final farewell.
Just what the doctor ordered!

@@brentboswell1294 Paint technology changed dramatically during the '80s and '90s...
I want to use some of your smashing cars footage in my automotive online game show. How can I reach you with details?
Saw the hand shadows lol
Love the crushing
The Mazda had a peeling paint job...1990's cars in white seemed to be the worst for peeling paint 😕

And fading too at least with the Toyotas
It’s always 90s and early 00s American cars lol
Always wanted to do a V8 Astro
Buen video entretenido saludos desde Tijuana BC México
Its so satisfying to see the glass go flying
I agree man, especially on the astro van. Love how they shattered one by one.

the crusher seems to be struggling a bit
Fuel filter is most likely clogged up or the fuel pump is starting to go bad. These things run on Diesel fuel

They have been on the scrapyard for 15-20 years somewhere in Wyoming.
Why don't you clean up the room around your crusher? There's so much nonsense that doesn't belong. - you wouldn't 2me
