That's actually a bolt-on plastic hubcap on that Sunbird. GM actually copied Honda before going to plastic lug nuts that bolt onto the real lug nuts to hold their hubcaps in place.
@@brentboswell1294 Our old Odyssey had them too. Sucked when you had to take the wheel off for any reason, lining the hubcap up perfectly while holding the wheel in place to put the lugs on. I got to where I had 2 lugs without rings for each wheel, that way I could mount the wheel first, then the hubcap.

Same here man. I could watch it all day. My buddy owns a junkyard and every spring he has a mass crushing to clean out the yard, I love watching him smash all day, never gets old seeing them junkers get pancaked and stacked. I get my rocks off to it every time haha
@@jaysmith179 Even if it looked decent enough on the outside, there may be more underlying issues. Might not have had any running gear or it was totally shot, the underside & chassis might have been rusted so much that it would've been unroadworthy & not worth fixing, to name a couple. So yes, even if it looked good enough, could have had issues that you couldn't see that were bad enough to render it being scrapped.

That car had probably been in that yard for years and not a single significant part had been taken off of it. That's because there are no Berettas running around needing its parts. Even if you were to put that thing back on the road, they were such pieces of junk that it would probably have a major failure within a few months even if it had less than 50K miles on it. Compare this to a 30-year-old Honda Civic which I see at least a few every day still running around many of these with well over 200K miles.

I've never understood why so many of these vehicles are sent to the crusher when they appear to have so many parts that could be sold? The glass, wheels, wheel covers, tail lights, side mirrors...looks like there would be a market for such items especially as less and less of these vehicles remain. Seems kind of a waste...

I had a 96 TransSport with transmission problems and my wife had multiple Corsicas, all were pieces of junk and I’m sure the Beretta was the same way being the two door version of the Corsica.

My Dodge Avenger has the cheap plastic wheel covers. I took them off so the black steel wheels show in all their glory.

They had a space frame underneath (just like the Fiero). The "dustbuster" vans were built in the Fiero plant after GM canned the Fiero...

I noticed that too. Somehow the back end was pushed in so much the car looks like a hatchback but the trunk lid was still mostly straight.
