We just bought a 2024 F450 Lariat, 6.7HO, Star White, FX4, chrome, rapid heat, moonroof, 2kw power, 5th wheel hitch, roof lights, all weather mats, we paid $92,410.
Yep spot on, I have 2 orders in at separate dealers for a f450 limited in iconic silver, neither order has been picked up and doubt it will, my second color choice being glacier gray. Wet out online looking for one available one closest to me dealer marked for 50k over msrp, eventually found a glacier gray 450 limited available at a dealer in Ohio (I’m in CA) listed for 5k over msrp so I bit the bullet and put down my deposit, should take delivery next week
Just traded in my 2019 F-450 6.7 black Platinum (w/ moonroof) on a 2024 iconic silver 6.7 HO (w/ sunroof). The 2019 6 speed is now a 10-speed in the new truck. Hopefully, all the 10-speed issues are in the rearview mirror. I liked my 6-speed. Anyway, my 2019 was worth $70K in trade, and I got the 2024 at $5K under MSRP. This was offered the next day after I initially walked away from a lesser offer. So far, I'm liking the truck, there have been significant improvements over the last 5 model years. And, I won't miss black.
In California you pay sales tax on the entire price of a vehicle with no allowance for the trade in value. It’s the only state I know of that does that. Thank you Gavin Gruesome!😂
Congrats on the new truck. I just traded in my 2020 F250 Tremor for a Ram 3500 Dually with the Cummins standard output. I know everyone says go with the High Output/Aisin combo but this one was on the lot and they made me a great offer. I did a lot of research and it will work out fine for me. I live on the east coast so not a lot of long mountain climbs and we only pull the 5er a half a dozen times a year. I'll take the better milage and smoother shifts. We have a 5th wheel that weighs about 13k fully loaded that this won't even break a sweat with that we travel with. We also have a much heavier 5th wheel that I would like to start taking to Florida in the winter so that's why I went with the dually. I have been following your channel for years and always knew I would end up with the right tow vehicle based on your recommendations.
15:28 I learned that as a teen, the more you modify a vehicle, the more random stuff nobody can fix pops up. Engineers put these vehicles through so many tests to keep them smooth, and changing something out (like wheels and tires) can cause a harmonic in the suspension, or with the engine, body, and drivetrain mounts because they were tuned for what the manufacturer offered. The more you deviate from stock, the more issues can randomly pop up that some folks don't notice. Vibrations are pretty annoying when you travel long distances at speed.
I appreciate you keeping up with the new technology and the need for the truck on this channel, I loved your Ruby Red truck. I'll stick with my old 97 F250 HD 4x4, it also has a terribly rough ride but it's mine.
JD, I have to admit that I commented awhile back to you to keep the 2017, but after seeing and hearing the numbers what you got for it !!! I appreciate the choice you made. With that said I also have a 17 Ram Limited SRW 3500. That I could trade and get what I paid for it used in 2019, but it's really hurtful to pay the difference on a new one when you have it paid for,I know it's only money but I am wanted to retire in a year or so and with the state of the country right now I am going to sit back a wait it out a year yet!!! Good luck with the new truck! I also have the bright white and love it, after owning 2 black ones before.
I love that California doesn’t give you the tax credit on trade in. It’s so nice to be able to pay the full 9.75% sales tax and get nothing from your old vehicle. That’s so awesome. And even better is they require us to register all pickups (with tiny exceptions) as commercial vehicles so we pay 3 times as much registration every year. And paying the highest fuel prices in the lower 48 is just icing on the awesome cake. I definitely am glad I don’t have any extra money left to drive on the worst roads around.
Should move. I did. Lived in California 28 years and gone. Some great states to consider: Texas, Georgia, Florida, also North Carolina. Set the population you'd like, could be 6 million, pick Dallas, TX. If you want small could be anything lower. You want land I'd pick outside Atlanta, Georgia, go north if you like the more mountains and south if you like less. The choices are infinite. You can have anything you want for less with people that love being there, its a world of difference when people love where they live. You win in everyway possible by moving out of California. You lose in everyway by staying in California. This comes from someone who lived in California, as I said for 28 years and have *not* lived in California for 16 years.
I have a 2016 Ram 3500 Laramie with 36k miles that I love. I bought it used from the original owner who special ordered it and like you he doesn’t like sun roofs which I’m fine with also. Mine has the 6.7L Cummins with the upgraded Aisin transmission. I sold my beautiful 2010 F150 which still looked almost new with 57k miles. Condition is key to me with any vehicle. In SC the sales tax on vehicles is capped at $500 so I didn’t have the issue you dealt with. You have a beautiful truck and I’m really a Ford guy but I do like the Cummins. I’ve owned three Ford gassers and now two Rams, both times to get the Cummins. Safe travels. 😊
beautiful truck man!....completely understand about trade in, as a buyer of many trucks the whole deal is treated equally.....factoring in everything is important, we dont get trade tax credit in CA so I just have to negotiate aggressively.....there is a cost for convenience......selling stuff can be such a hassle really like the onboard scales....just purchased a GMC HD
I keep looking at that big square hole in the front of my F450s bumper and thinking...this truck needs the winch that goes there. I'll probably never use it but at least the front end will look complete.
Apologies if this has been asked and answered. You noted that without the stiffer front end additions/components (for my spec it keeps getting added when I add in the "camper" addition), the ride is much improved and to the point that your wife is willing to ride in it. So, do you think, have you experienced, a noticeable improvement from the continuously variable suspension that comes with either the Platinum or KR trim? In particular, I am curious if that helps with "bumpiness" when towing a fifth wheel (looking at pulling 18k fifth wheel here). That option is not available to the Lariat trim, even at the Lariat "Ultimate" package. Thanks!
I'm going to be honest, this is a much better looking truck than your red one. I really liked that truck but this truck just sings to me.. Love the color...
Hopefully there will be content on fuel consumption and how obvious the high out put horse power is compared to the 17. I had a 17 and now have a 20 and the fuel consumption is not as good on the 20 as it was the 17. Power difference was some what noticeable but the ten speed is where it’s at in my opinion. Just curious about your thoughts
When I bought my F150 I made sure there was no moonroof. A moonroof should always be an option in any configuration. I live in Florida and I tint every piece of glass in my vehicle but I also always make sure that I am compliant with the State Trooper’s. Great Videos Thank You 🙏
Be interested to hear about all the features and what you love over the 2017. I think I’d use the power in the bed more than I think I would. Been meaning to add a power port in my bed of my 21 but haven’t gotten around to it. Also interested to hear fuel mileage comparisons.
The front bumper is an integral part of the truck as far as air flow for cooling the Hi output and the front sensors for cruise. Trucks are not what they used to be you can change parts just to make content.
Most aftermarket bumpers that aren’t only $500 have done testing for air flow, it’s perfectly fine. But keep crying in multiple different comments if you’d like
Both of my ‘99 & my 2020 Super Duties were/are white. IMO, it’s the easiest color to keep clean. Also had a 2018 F150 that was white. Great color!! Also, All my work trucks, “fleet trucks” have been white. Haha!
For what you do I believe the high output was the correct choice. You have had the previous version of the power stroke so people want to know how it compares. As far as the flex goes, I think if you are towing in a normal safe manner and not trying to win a drag race off the line the extra torque is not going to effect it. If your trailer is stuck or trailer brakes are locked up then that is where I see the extra torque possibly causing flex and damage.
I got 61k on my 24 f450. The new conti’s are great. 8oz beads in each. Fronts came off right away and I ONLY run Kumho krs 03 as steers. No other steer comes close for the money.
I love a white truck I ordered same truck in April 24 only a lariat with a sunroof. Who knows when it will be here but not in a hurry I'm a gmc guy I have a 2021 2500hd diesel It killed me to order ford but the 450 is a great truck Turning radius and brakes 👍🏼
It really depends on if you're replacing your factory springs with airbags, or augmenting your springs by adding airbags. If you're simply adding airbags, your ride could actually decrease in comfort. They would primarily be used to love a lot the vehicle when towing or hauling heavy.
@@BTBRVReviews Yeah I'm thinking augmenting. I talked to a lot of guys when I was doing RV transport and they said air bags made a big difference loaded.
Congratulations on the new truck! This is definitely my Dream truck. I currently have a 2015 Ford F350 SRW. Does the new truck have Ceramic coating on paint?
It’s a super nice trick. But man, the depreciation on these are back to being brutal. Hindsight seems to say you should have sold the ‘17 KR in fall of ‘21 thru summer of ‘22. With such low miles it’s barely used. Then just waited 1-2 years to order a truck at a dealer that actually gets allocations from the factory. Looking forward to the content. Including CARB approved pusher intakes and the DCR fuel pump! Of course after your warranty expires if that’s your choice.
@@kylepokorski6045 no it doesn't. Enforcement is different than lawful. The light bars come with a warning "for off-road use only" and are not DOT Approved or it would say it on it.
I would have liked to have the drop down step too. We bought strait off the lot like you. I bought this stool\step for $60 from Amazon, Safety RV Steps Extra Large Platform 19in x 14.5in Extra Size RV Folding Step Stool and Ladder, 600lbs, Height Adjustable, Aluminium with Reflective Stripe, Anti-Slip Surface and Extra Grip.
I just purchased a 2024 GMC 3500 Denali dually diesel. Bought it off a dealer lot. Not many around new or used. This one came with a sunroof and I don’t care for them either. I bought mine to carry our large truck camper which weighs 5000 lbs. my payload is 5200 lbs. I installed 7500 lb airbags to help support the weight and improve the ride.I got my truck at dealer cost GM employee discount was almost $12000. Family member works for GM.
I ordered this same truck, platinum trim, including no moon-roof, no max-reclining seats and same color, but as a 350, with a 4.10 gear ratio - do you have that or the 4.33 gear ratio? Could you speak to the pros and cons of each? Also, as I understand it, 350s have higher pin-weight capacities than 450s, while 450s have some better structural components. Probably the 450 can do more than what it says it can do - but who does that? What is the objective comparison btw the 350 and 450 and why choose one over the other? In a perfect world, I would have ordered a 450 for the turning radius - but I didn't because I didn't think it would ever arrive. I compromised that getting a 350 was better than ordering a 450.
The turning radius and bigger brakes are the biggest advantage of the 450. I don't know that the 4.30 makes that big a difference over the 4.10. It took a year and 49 weeks (over 2 model years) from first order to delivery to get my 450 KR.
No, none of the Superduties have Bluecruise due to the fact that they still have hydraulic steering. The f-150's actually have electric steering which makes Bluecruise possible.
JD.... I'm 700 days from retirement and FT, plan is to pull a Heavy Brinkley... I want to Order an F450 Limited... Do you think in a bigger city I'll have luck ordering and how far out should I start, would like a 2026....
Imagine traveling pulling a big heavy trailer, and wanting to take a break and instead of going in the back, just sleeping in your seat. To enjoy the full homelessness experience
It can be a pain to get the trailer unhooked, leveled, slides out and power situated to use the trailer. A lot of fifth wheels have beds in a slide, most slides can not be used while in. So you would have to go through all sorts of stuff for a quick nap.
@@andrewm1058 I would put that under the heading of bad design. And you don't necessarily have to use the bed in front, most of them have a sofa. Or another bed.
Did you consider the wheel issues with balance etc may have been the harder front end ,with no give, one would imagine that any vibration would be transmitted through to the steering wheel ? I think that the deciding factor must have been Tax and not wanting to pay it ,all good in business where right off of adjustment is allowed, and average Joe ain't going to be buying a hundred grand truck . IMO those large RVs should only be towed with a HD Truck a real truck with the weight to match what's behind it trying to push you down the road ,a HD truck has big potential to cater for disability access especially for senior drivers ,even yourself with machines and things would benefit a big truck , bigger trailer, and then bigger equipment.
Consider having a small pin stripe (painted, not decal strip) running down the length of the truck. Friend of mine with a white F-250 had a pin stripe put on and it makes a huge but very subtle difference.

So someone that can spend $100K in a truck can't special order one and get it but Ford can afford (pun intended) losing $3B in the altar of EVs... This says something about the status of the industry, doesn't?
I HAD TO TURN SOUND OFF..HIS VOICE DRIVING ME CRAZY....OK BACK TO THE TRUCK...LOVE THIS TRUCK....IM TRYING TO DECIDE IF I LIKE THE PEARL WHITE OR NOT....MAYBE MORE GOLD TRIM TO IT....AND YES I HAVE THE SUNROOF ADDED....AND DIFFERENT HUB CAPS..SOMETHING FANCYER WITH SOME GOLD TO THEM....OK THANKS
Here in IL, our Democrat super majority controlled politicians in Springfield has passed a law that requires us to pay a tax on the value of our trade in on anything valued $10,000 and up. Just one more reason to drive your vehicle until it drops. These vehicles cast way too much money anymore. There are numerous automotive journalists out there, and they get the privilege to test drive these vehicles for a spell. What is the typical length of time that the manufacturers let you test drive these vehicles?
@thewoodworkersjourney3314 Nah, he can do what he wants, just personally think it makes a truck look ugly. Not sure why you are making it your business.
When I was looking at the F-350 vs the F-450…..it is now August 2024…..I was told by Ford that most Ford dealerships around the country do NOT work on the F-450 for certain maintenance requirements ….because most dealerships do not have the capacity or equipment……this information I received directly from a Ford dealership in Wisconsin and I confirmed this information when speaking to several Ford Dealerships around the country (I travel all over the country on business)…..so based on that information I went with the Ford F-350. My thoughts were why would I purchase something that is not fully supported at ALL Ford dealerships around the country….and chance voiding the warranty…..and consequently then being stranded somewhere with no support for God knows how long….I went with Glacier Gray…a new premium color…
I love white on any vehicle. It's amazing how much cooler the vehicle stays compared to any other color.

@@Itsa_Meaall LEDs are technically illegal too if we’re gonna follow laws by the book, therefore most newer cars are illegal.
@BigTruckBigRV I’ve watching the rain in Florida. I hope your brother and family are safe.
When did you purchase it?
Does the F450 have Bluecruise..
What is your towing setup?
Which part? For fifth wheel or conventional
@@BTBRVReviews B&W for 5th? You mentioned it in one of the videos but i forgot model
Question. You said you gave your wife a thumbs up concerning no sunroof .Has your wife ever seen you or has she just seen your hands too?😄
Where are you going?
Why did you get a new f450 when you had one just a few years ago older and did not have the notoriously problematic 10 speed transmission??
11:15 $999,000? I knew these things were getting expensive but that's getting ridiculous
😂😂🤣 I thought the same thing!!
I don’t like Sunroof either! 🏍💨🏍💨
Curious how it’s 400 lbs lighter than your King Ranch
Believe it or not, it's likely the lack of the panoramic sunroof and all of the mounting and framing necessary.
No winch
@@BTBRVReviewsahhh I forgot about the sunroof. Crazy that it weighs that much 😮

Leave bumpers alone please!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Consider having a small pin stripe (painted, not decal strip) running down the length of the truck. Friend of mine with a white F-250 had a pin stripe put on and it makes a huge but very subtle difference.
Should we put flames on it too 🤣🤣
👍
In my opinion, the white looks better than the red. Especially when you hook up to the fifth wheel. It matches.
listen y'all the reason he turned his paid off truck in is because he's making that UA-cam Money and its all about the likes shares and subscribers that's it...... so please if you like this type of content and want to see more of it make sure to like and subscribe and turn on on the bell icon so you won't miss a video

powdercoat the wheels black would look great against the white
So someone that can spend $100K in a truck can't special order one and get it but Ford can afford (pun intended) losing $3B in the altar of EVs...
This says something about the status of the industry, doesn't?
You paid too much, brought home a 2024 Star white 450 limited last weekend for under MSRP! In stock unit, not ordered.
That's awesome! Rare find
The best looking dually is the white!! Ford and Chevy
Purchased recently and paid MSRP+ ? Hmmmmm
Yes, pricing is dropping and will accelerate
What is the typical length of time that the manufacturers let you test drive these vehicles?
people can afford this??
Please don't put that ugly front guard on this one like the other one did.
Are you going to ask him to dress the way you want too?
@thewoodworkersjourney3314 Nah, he can do what he wants, just personally think it makes a truck look ugly. Not sure why you are making it your business.
I like it as a deer catcher
Congratulations 🙂
