Audio magic once again man, and what better way to end than with a Jun-off?! You make a digital data-compressed medium sound and feel like condensed milk every time! Thanks a bunch.
Man, I LOVE this channel. You deserve way more subscribers and likes. These videos renewed my interest in Eurorack and gave an interest for the Teenage Engineer sampler too. Very well balanced between review and quick to the amazing musical examples (which are really songs right there). Keep up the amazing work! Cheers from Argentina!
That classic jam sounds amazing, I saw your video on instagram and I had to stalk your UA-cam! Thanks for going through the sounds and everything. I have the Castor and Pollux I and it sounds amazing but you really made it shine here.
I have one of these too and love it! (As well as the Neptune filter which I also love.) Thea at Winterbloom is great. Very responsive and helpful. She wrote a long detailed article on the architecture of the Juno that is very interesting for the more technically inclined.
Hey! I love this module and I’m glad you found it. Your patches are amazing! Any chance you can provide more details for the Classic jam (with Pamela + Maths…)
Thanks! Pam’s is clocking Beads and the delay on the MFX, and Maths is just two envelopes modulating the filters for the individual oscillators. Hope that helps!
Killer jam - would love to see how you approach sequencing something like this. Do you already have something in mind for the two interweaving parts or are you largely stumbling into it? 8:27
Thanks! I’m mostly stumbling into it tbh. Once I have a sequence that I like I’ll experiment with ideas over the top until I find something that works.
If you check the manual on the Winterbloom web page there’s a section on the 4 different effects, which are accessed with the button and top middle knob :)
@@TheUnperson I assume you used the LFO FM mode to get the vibrato effect then? Vibrato wasn't specifically mentioned in the manual. Regardless, your review prompted me to buy one :)
@@TheUnpersonyeah max polyphony is 16 so that's not a problem but I wouldn't bother because I actually own a real Juno-6 😅 Not showing off, it's the only proper synth I own but to be honest i don't use it much. I just don't find that it makes a huge range of sounds. It does however do a couple of sounds really well, pads and juicy acid arpeggios. The issue with emulating it in anything like VCV is the filter, everything else on it is fairly basic.
Looks like a nice simple module, why do you think the pitch knobs are so big? are people touching them all the time? I probably don't want huge pitch knobs for life performance.

Thanks for the lovely comment! Years of band practice has ruined my ears so I don’t even notice the compressed digital media anymore lol
Great oscillator, taking those Juno roots into new places. Great jams as usual! This oscillator looks really easy to get some really great sounds.
Thanks Howard! It definitely has that classic Juno vibe but flung into the eurorack world of madness.
I bought one of these on release day and have had zero regrets. It slaps.
It absolutely slaps!

Cheers man ~ glad you hear you’re enjoying the videos! ☺️

Thanks!! I really love the sound and simplicity of the castor + pollux. It’s currently my fav oscillator ~ tho that award does change daily lol
The sound in this video always gives me goose bumps. It simply had to be ordered!
It’s still one of my favourite oscillators ~ it’s got such a classy sound :)

Oh nice ~ I’ll check that out!!
You're such a talented musician, always great fun to watch your videos!
Thanks man! Glad you’re enjoying the videos ☺️
What a refreshingly musical demo. I think you just sold me a Castor & Pollux II. The Vostok Atlas sounds pretty great to boot.
Thanks! The Atlas is a verrry nice filter, and pairs beautifully with the castor & pollux.
amazing quality as always! keep em coming. Would love to see one on the make noise XPO with QPAS
Thanks! I’ve definitely added XPO to the video list :D
@@TheUnperson hell yeah
Great demo of the Castor & Pollux II. Now I need to go back to my unit and explore it myself.
Thanks man, it’s always good when you feel inspired to re-explore old gear!
That sounds incredible! 🔥 And it looks gorgeous!
The perfect combination!
Nice!
Fantastic demo, as always!
Thanks!!
Hell yeah! It sounds fantastic!
It sure does!
Great workshop. This is a fine instrument, wow.❤
Thanks!!
Gorgeous!
Thanks!!
Flipping heck mate; that's MASSIVE! 😊👌
Haha thanks man!
03:00 Oh! That sound is delicious! (I just saw someone else commenting that this oscillator sounds delicious too. They are very correct.)
Delicious is a very appropriate word for this module!

Amazing sound. But then, all your videos have really great production values!
Thanks ~ really appreciate it!

aw yea
Miss my Juno, but this looks like more fun
I’ve actually never tried a Juno before! :O
Gotta get back to my Juno 106. Only one with six working voice cards? Someone helped fund a Prophet 5 by selling it to me.
Niiice! I’ve never actually played a Juno before!
How did you get the vibrato? It's not in the manual.

Great module. Where can you get hold of the expander from?
It comes with it in the box!
That’s right! It comes with the module :)
Thx, received my module today 😎👍
Amazing ~ enjoy!
Face/Off Reference? nice
Great film!!
Sounds great, but presumably you'd have to buy 6 to properly emulate a Juno? 😂
I’m sure you can sort that out in VCV rack no bother!

As an astronomer and eurorack hobbyist u really hate the name of this module bcs it is too hard to resist
It’s definitely a must-have for that niche group of eurorack astronomers!

It’s pretty handy for tuning the oscillators, tho definitely more risky for accidentally nudging!
Nice jams man. @rareitchproject
Thanks!
