Jeremy, I just wanted you to know I keep coming back to this fucking video cuz these jams are soooooo good. And I might be getting a castor and Pollux of my own today 🤭
Came for the ferret thumbnail. Not disappointed. This video is mustellar. I love what you do, great musicianship, really refreshing to hear something else than bleeps and bloops in a gear demo (reminded me a lot of disasterpeace here and there). Keep up the awesome work !
Getting ready to settle in to work late tonight. Listening to this video has become a ritual for me. The opening 2 minutes are like turning the windshield wipers on when ADHD symptoms are raining. It lets me settle into myself to design. Thank you.
That sound incredible. I was going to comment on how absolutely sick 1:56 sounds, then I noticed the groove sounded familiar. I realized it reminded me a lot of the feel of Reggie's Song. So.. when can we expect a modular remix
i’m just now getting into analog, and really synthesis in general. but wow does this sound incredible. i just got the behringer 2600 but this will definitely come next
OMG! This is rad! I can't wait for mine now. This is actually the first module I ever ordered (on pre-order but still, my first $ spent in modular), I love the sound of the Juno and it also feels good to support minority-owned businesses.
At the opening there, Why do I feel like eating haggis? Joke aside, Good show as always. The module makes me think of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince", but probably intended to look a "bit" like childhood nostalgia.
so good to hear castor and pollux in action! a lot of the tones you dialed in literally made my jaw drop. just curious, and apologies if i missed it, but what were you using to trigger the melodies?
Such a gorgeous module. Constructive crit: I wish you'd adjust knobs from the side so we could see, instead of covering a really nice close-up with arm and hand.
1:53 I call BS! This is an amiga chiptune overdubbed on the video! Superb sequencing Jeremy! (Aside, unless I missed it in the onscreen type, what are you using for sequencing for this demo?)
@@RedMeansRecording I more meant that it's impressive but it does have a bit of an intimidating look at first glance. Going to be watching some videos on it now.
Great videos I can't get enough so ty for all your hard work it shows. I would like your opinion on 2 modules 1) castor & pollux the dual oscilator and the Erica synth black vco2 with the expander. What module would you choose between the 2? I follow your channel clearly you are well educated in this area. Your opinion means a lot. Ty for your help. Cheers Shawn
this sounds dope. and i have one preordered. and i'm excite. question: how much do you think about tuning when you use your modular? the pitch CV coming out of hermod goes into the C&P. but there's also a pitch knob (which it looks like you turn to the far right?). so... do you tune the oscillators at all? do you use any quantizing? at which stage in the patch do you do any of that? or do you wing it all by ear and I should learn to relax? THANKS!! :D
Hey Frank, I'm Thea from Winterbloom. I care a lot about tuning and such and I knew the minipots would have some drawbacks. I actually made those pitch adjustment knobs have a non-linear response so that it's easier to tune them true to pitch. You can read more about it here: gemini.wntr.dev/#tuning
This Juno sound, originally out in 1984 which you could say is today, sounds nice but unfortunately no boundaries pushed here for “new”sounds in eurorack 1984 land.
if/when i get into modular, I'm definitely making this a part of my system, I've always loved that Juno sound. The only thing it's missing is the lusciously lush chorus (wow, that's a tongue twister), but that's another module for another time. Thank you so much for the sick jams, Jeremy
I own a Soundforce DCO which is also modeled after the Juno. I never thought I would find an oscillator I liked the raw sound of more. This is just...ughhhhh I was saving for a Hydrasynth lol
If I had gear that made sound starting at about 6:00 minutes I think it would be a very bad thing for me getting anything done ever, thems are some delicious ear calories.
I'm no astronomer, but I do know that Castor and Pollux Troy are the names of Nicholas Cage and his brother in Face/Off. So I assume this is music for some kind of reboot.
This is an awesome sounding module but seeing Plaits sitting there unused makes me sad (yes - get a life!) and those micro pots look pretty wobbly - paradoxically unlike those on Plaits (and Marbles)!
to winterbloom modular, the first minute fifty from this guy earned you some money. ordered v2 yesterday.
A great many binkletinkles contained herein.
This demo and the visibility you are bringing to Winterbloom makes my heart happy!
I could listen to the "unquantized ambient melody" section all day - beautiful stuff!
Jeremy, I just wanted you to know I keep coming back to this fucking video cuz these jams are soooooo good. And I might be getting a castor and Pollux of my own today 🤭
❤️
This thing built up on itself is amazing. That final fantasy piece really makes it shine

that dual sharp adsr electro rhythm is AMAZING. Songify that one!
Have been excited to hear this one, thanks for posting 🙏🏻
I'm really digging all these modular videos, especially ones like this where you showcase a specific module!
Getting ready to settle in to work late tonight. Listening to this video has become a ritual for me. The opening 2 minutes are like turning the windshield wipers on when ADHD symptoms are raining. It lets me settle into myself to design. Thank you.
When I heard those first tones, I was reminded of the old adage "a gentleman is someone who can play the bagpipes... but doesnt".
As soon as a get mine, I try to let it play Flower of Scotland for sure.
I saw a post about this module and the “Juno” selling point grabbed me, then the pretty panel grabbed me... and then this demo sold me.
There are no instances where I walk away unsatisfied from your videos. YAGD (Yet Another Great Demo).
Killer as always. This had refreshed my coffee and watered my crops. 🙏
Openning melody is absolutely beautiful!
That last tune was super cute!! I loved it
Wow, I haven’t thought of Final Fantasy Adventure in forever.
Great rest of the video too.. but that was unexpected memories there.
Well done! So glad you got into modular - you continue to be hugely inspiring.
came for sound demo stayed for final fantasy adventure theme. beautiful module.
on repeat again
Cheers!!!
What lovely sounds! Very inspiring videos as always!
your presentation to me, explains the story...from cover to cover, thanks
Really nice piece of gear, love the full bright sound.
holy shit the final song. Sorry Chord V2, you are getting replaced in my rack
6:25 - Yes - I wan't that! What a tune Jeremy!!!
Beautiful, really loved the adsr electro and final fantasy part, but it was all ofcourse a great listen! Sounds like a very nice module!
The Blades Filter section is what I want to listen to while I fly Airwolf around, solving crimes and righting wrongs.
That sound incredible. I was going to comment on how absolutely sick 1:56 sounds, then I noticed the groove sounded familiar. I realized it reminded me a lot of the feel of Reggie's Song. So.. when can we expect a modular remix
Loved this, especially part 4. 4:50
the jams in this video are SO GOOD
Damn some sick melodies and grooves
Holy smokes this thing sounds incredible
You really have your shit together in this video! Great module and control over your rig!
Awesome! Would love to pair this up with the new Jove filter for some awesome classic tones. Your patch sounds very Tangerine Dream like!
Really cool module. I think it sounds closer to a c64 than a Juno 106/60, perhaps a little like Juno 1. I'd love to hear a waveform comparison.
I love everything you made with it! 🥰
i’m just now getting into analog, and really synthesis in general. but wow does this sound incredible. i just got the behringer 2600 but this will definitely come next

within 5 minutes of this I already preordered one. holy shit i want it terribly
oof couldn't not order one after listening to this demo! Amazing!
Thanks mate; great demo 👍
Thank you for making music in your demo rather than a ton of sound!
WINTERBLOOM THE GOAT
At the opening there, Why do I feel like eating haggis? Joke aside, Good show as always. The module makes me think of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince", but probably intended to look a "bit" like childhood nostalgia.
Yes!!! I got this feeling exactly. It's so bright and warm
@@RedLeaderTrackMaster : )

I used the Squarp Hermod
@@RedMeansRecording sweet, thanks!
7:07 to 7:09 transition
So many bangers! 🤘
great presentation, but now I've got part 2 stuck in my head :D
Wonderful !
So nice !!!
One day I might get into Eurorack......one day.....
Sounds amazing!!! @_____@
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This first patch is none-more-children's-science-PBS and I am here for it
Such a gorgeous module. Constructive crit: I wish you'd adjust knobs from the side so we could see, instead of covering a really nice close-up with arm and hand.
god this thing sounds damn good
Juicy
album of this when, would purchse
🚀
Dammit.
Alright, I'm gonna need to try and make modular happen now just because of this...
What are you using for the drum sounds in these demos, Jeremy? They all sound so good
1:53 I call BS! This is an amiga chiptune overdubbed on the video! Superb sequencing Jeremy! (Aside, unless I missed it in the onscreen type, what are you using for sequencing for this demo?)
Hermod!
@@RedMeansRecording That is one crazy sequencer! I need to look more into it now.
It's pretty straightforward actually!
@@RedMeansRecording I more meant that it's impressive but it does have a bit of an intimidating look at first glance. Going to be watching some videos on it now.
Anyone have tuning problems with these oscillators through the octaves?

And now I want a ferret too...ah piss!

Nice ferret thumbnail

Great video! Is that your ferret?? 😍
no, haha
For the sequence at around 3:55, how did you manage to get these random melodic fills breaking up the main sequence? Is there a module for that?
I think I played live over the sequence
this module was named after Castor Troy and Pollux Troy from Face/Off?
I could eat a peach for hours
I absolutely love the part 5. Is this gonna be a full song that i can buy on bandcamp ?
Mmm... them sweet, meaty squares and saws... Nom. Thx~ :B
Absolutely gorgeous stuff ! What are u using for the drums ?
VPME QD with custom samples
Hey, at part 2 what drum machine are you using? 0: thanks!
Vpme qd probably
Wait so it’s panel is back lit by rgbs? Those lights are built into the module and not something you’re doing?
I definitely unintentionally copied the first jam in this video with one of the first jams i did on my deluge when i got it lmao
What's the main melody sequencer here? e.g. 7:00
Hermod
this sounds dope. and i have one preordered. and i'm excite.

I tune to scopes and by ear when needed.

I would listen to "dual melody through blades" in my car if it were a full song
What sequencer are you using here to create those melodies?
Key step pro probably
@@RedMeansRecording Thank you!
@@RedMeansRecording Wait, so are you playing the melody in the first demo with your hands or are you using the sequencer function of the Keystep?
Sold me one...
Are these sequenses? Ore did you create something in a program and play it through the winterbloom?
im using Hermod to sequence the oscillator with sequences i created
@@RedMeansRecording Thanks!

This Juno sound, originally out in 1984 which you could say is today, sounds nice but unfortunately no boundaries pushed here for “new”sounds in eurorack 1984 land.
ok dad
@@RedMeansRecording that’s “mean”
What drums are those :) 2:25
Stuff I have loaded on the vpme qd. Probably samplified soulful electro pack. Heavily processed.
I've been trying not to buy this module so hard and this isn't helping me nor my wallet :'(

Jesus, Jeremy.
Intro sounds like something out of Stardew Valley, Celeste, or one of those retro games. Very warm and fuzzy :)

Jeremy you, one of the lovielst of all humans, you DID IT AGAIN... i spent some money on tech. This is definetely the osci i was looking for, amazing!
Dude, thank you for putting this together -- I got in on the first batch and I'm so damn excited to play with this thing now. Sounds amazing.

Yeah the mi knobs are top
Oh man, I just got a shiver from that PWM.
This entire thing is soooooo fire. What an amazing demo-set!
What final fantasy song is at 14:49? I want to make a high quality rip of it.
