I never had a mommy makeover type surgery but I do know what it's like to have a blood clot and they are not fun. Prayers going out to you Gina Young and happy holidays to you and your family
I'm so glad you're almost "out of the woods". I'd LOVE to get a mommy makeover too. After I went for s consultation, the surgeon said I was too likely to have a clot due to my having Von Willebrandts disease. Elective surgery was something he wouldn't approve of for me. I'm living with a blood clot in my head already, so I guess it's for the best. I was lucky enough to make it through a massive bleed that caused me having 4 pints of blood infused and me producing 1 pint for myself (over time). ICU wasn't fun for me or my family- so I had to say no to my mommy make-over. I can live vicariously through you. God bless & Godspeed to a full recovery!

I had blood clots that traveled to both my lungs. Once blood clots travel to lungs, they are called pulmonary embolism. It damaged my right side of my lungs. I was in ICU and CCU, BUT God.

The blood test the checks for blood clots is non specific, meaning it just shows inflammation, which can be high due to blood clots, but there are other things such as trauma/surgery etc, these are factors that can raise a D-dimer value. The way to have a definite answer is an ultrasound of the lower extremities, this will look at the legs vasculature for DVT's ( deep vein tbrombosis). Remember not to rub your legs, massaging can move a blood clot upwards towards the lungs, at this point it will become an emboli which is serious stuff. As a registered nurse I have cared for many patients with blood clots. Just be aware of pain behind your legs, redness and swelling, they don' t all necessarily come together, but any of these signs could be the red flag for a blood clot.
