- In this video I show you how to replace your CV axle in 2005 Nissan Altima. This should be similar for replacing an axle in any 02-06 Nissan Altima.
How to change your gear oil in a 2005 Nissan Altima
While fixing a power steering leak I saw my axle boot was torn and slinging grease everywhere!

Respect. You do your own work, you do it right given the parameters and you make a good video. Cheers!
Thanks man
good stuff. my new go to guy for my 02 altima 3.5 SE
Thanks man, they're fun cars for sure!
Oh 😯 finally I found it
Thanks a lot bro 👍🏻
Awesome!! You helped me so much with this video!!
Thanks man! Hope you got yours going!
I'm confused here.
I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5S Automatic FWD.
Do I have to put GEAR OIL or CVT Fluid?
I thought the CVT Fluid was for my transmission and it runs into my CV Axle Housing.
I think you're right, Gear oil is usually used on manual transmissions like mine in the video. It would be different for automatic transmissions ATF or CVT. But every car is different so be sure to check around
Isn't there a fill plug at the bottom?
Is this the for automatic or manual transmission????
Manual
has the after market feq axle held up?
Sold it shortly after, but it was doing well when I had it.
Where did you get the replacement cv axel?
I went to a local Napa auto parts store and they had to order it. Not sure exactly where they got it from but it was tricky being SE-R with ABS. You having trouble with yours?
Under acceleration I can feel a decent amount of vibration coming from the passenger side cv. Ive been looking at getting a replacement from autozone.
Ah I see, I went with Napa because they are close to me, I think I paid about $135 for the complete new axle. They did offer to have my axle rebuilt for a little less but ended up going with the new one. Getting it rebuilt is good option if you can't find a new one that fits, but your car is down while you wait on the rebuild.
You can get them new from Cardone, RockAuto, even Amazon for about $50 >-< newwww.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZK0TRK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
