I played a LOT of Weiss in high school, and unfortunately the reprint policy is a huge barrier to the game, where if there's a series you love, if you missed the boat, there's no chance of getting it for a decent price (case in point, Persona 5). Interesting to see where you go with this game. I love the game a lot, but from the seller side, I'm very curious.

I only recently got into Weiss but from a collector standpoint. I was going to collect Konosuba but saw the prices (even a few months ago) were too much for me. Decided on Disgaea instead and it seems I got the cards cheap before the surge that is beginning to happen. Cards I picked up for $30 are now being priced at $120. Japanese booster boxes I got for about $15 now priced near $100. It looks like I got the last card I needed/wanted just in time...

@@TaskuWright Some are worried that a surge in popularity would cause massive reprints. Classic sets that are worth a lot and hard to find would decrease in value. Very, very, very rarely will first printings and reprints look different. Weiss doesn't do 1st editions and whatnot.
Pokémon Company in Japan also did this kind of pre-order method up until literally a couple of months ago. Now distributors get an allocation number of X many cases and they can say yay or nay, it's screwing up the whole process for most stores who have done this pre-order method thru distributors for many years
As a long term weiss player and big anime fan there are probably a few things that influence the games value/popularity 1. The strength of the set 2. Availability 3. The anime fan base 4. The... waifu -_- Hope it works out with your investments but the value is probably also determined by how the animes do in the future with further seasons One of the draw backs and strengths of weiss compared to games like mtg, yugioh, and pokemon is that you can't combine sets unless they are from the series. Eg. In mtg you can combine war of the spark, zendikar, throne of Eldrone etc in modern, standard or edh etc However in weiss you cannot combine jojo, rezero, and konosuba in the same deck (unless there's a tournament that allows it but bushiroad doesn't run such tournaments) - this makes certain less popular sets less sought after because the cards in the set aren't as strong- collectors will try to get the sp's but not necessarily the sealed boxes themselves unless of course another season of the anime comes out that causes another set to be released. Just my thoughts but I could be seriously wrong with predicting the future. You never know this video may just affect sales and cause a spike in buyers/investors
The bond between man and waifu is very powerful....
Amen!

Dude you got an adventure time case back there? I’ll buy one
I buy the Project Diva stuff and that's it.
You are right. I didn't watch that late into the video.
It looks like I got the last card I needed/wanted just in time...
knowing about the anime community and which shows are actually popular and which are just this month's hot sauce. that time i got reincarnated SPs will be worth thousands by the end of next year, and adventure time might take some more time, but its fucking adventure time, cmon, any kid that grew up in the 2000s would LOVE to own a Finn, the Human trading card signed by Jeremy Shada.
Bitcoin is to magic as Dogecoin is to Weiss
Rudy. Save some for the rest of us man. Its kinda getting old watching you flaunt your wealth.
The first thought of Rudy working on it for months was *I have created a pyramid out of taco bell party 12 packs*
I love the part of every video where Rudy says no one is probably watching right now... Secret Lair: Alpha Investments 😂
I dunno... I feel like this is if someone said in the 90s they bought 1mil worth of Don Russ, Fleer... "Desert Storm" military sets... and other weird card brands that are pennies on the dollar today.
I'm surprised that he hasn't invested in vintage Yugioh. So many early Japanese sets with banger chase cards are being slept on.
Share your wisdom. And name a few sets.
are you being sarcastic? lol
@@jeef16 why would he be being sarcastic? Vintage yugioh is very strong right now. Even OCG market is fairly strong. Anything really old is strong.
@@Normaleman23 Look up the sets with highly desired ultimate rares. Also, the early volume boxes.
@@jeef16 I can't for the life of me see how my comment could sound sarcastic. Yugioh, Magic, Pokemon, you name it - Vintage is NEVER a bad investment. Grails are grails are grails.
Blowing your money Rudy.
I remember seeing sleeves with waifus on them in Japan. Starting from $20 going up to $200.
Its a strange market, but amazing.
Do you sell any of the Weiss cases
Where do i buy weiss schwarz?
JoJo always be popular and/or have cult following especially among English players vs more obscure anime, etc brands, so I don't think you could have enough of those really.
Also Nazarick stuff is cool. Did some googling too and my hopes are real with this brand, Guilty Gear was a set they made, but looks like years ago, so...good luck to me find any of those xD
@@alphainvestments6141 Oh awesome, you can hook me up Rudy? Wait a second, this isn't a taco it's a burrito, from Canada...and this box of Guilty Gear cards is just full of...some toilet paper, strixhaven art cards and used cat litter...I...I'm starting to suspect this is a fake account!
Bought 4 booster boxes at 60$ and 2 starter decks of FGO when the set came out since Im a huge fan of the game. Made a deck from the booster boxes but I wanted to fix it with more cards now that I've use it for a while
I went to tcgplayer to see how much they were and these things are going for over 100$ :^)
Next time Ill buy 10 boxes just to make sure I dont have to go through this again lmao
If you're just starting to get into the game and see a set you want to play I highly recommend looking online for people that sell playsets.
Will be much cheaper and let you build any deck you want in a series.
How big is his basement!?
Cavernous. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a team hollowing out the entire state of Florida as we speak.
Inb4 Florida is already hollow.
it's a multi-story basement
The one with the lead character that pays homage to berserk, they just announced a second season to the show, cards from that set look great.
Didn't take Rudy for a Persona fan that's nice to see
Rudy doubled down on anime I've never heard of as an opportunity investment.
Pretty sure he's onto something here. Definitely a longer play. We will see the fruits of his position in 3 to 5 years imo. Good job Rudy 👏
next buy the card game precious memories !
lol
That first print hololive stuff is actual gold I am sad I didn't grab any
Soooo if you're preordering product and not selling it, does that make bushiroad make more than they would have thus inflating the production run?
How can we try it if you're hoarding a substantial amout of retired sealed product?
Welcome.
I only own a few starter decks of Weiss Schwarz, but I missed a few sets I wanted when they came out because I thought I could just get them at a later date... boy was I wrong. Watching your videos on it have been very informative and I hope I can find some No Game No Life and some That Time I got reincarnated as a slime someday
Hardly keeping up with investing in all the magic releases..Can't even think about other games..
Glad you covered this Rudy. I'm also investing in weiss and reducing my magic sealed since I'm so ticked off at wotc. My focus is on 2020 releases with sp chase cards (signatures) since they discontinued it. Hope you'll have a sake for patreons😃 I'm also buying negative weiss stuff like batman ninjas and mob 100. Still very cheap
Something you said that was very incorrect. They do indeed make reprint sets. Like for Sword Art Online.
Reprints or sequels? Because I you can count the english sets that got reprints on one hand over it's lifespan of a decade.
@@TaskuWright Some are worried that a surge in popularity would cause massive reprints. Classic sets that are worth a lot and hard to find would decrease in value. Very, very, very rarely will first printings and reprints look different. Weiss doesn't do 1st editions and whatnot.
I always watch to the end
Pokémon Company in Japan also did this kind of pre-order method up until literally a couple of months ago. Now distributors get an allocation number of X many cases and they can say yay or nay, it's screwing up the whole process for most stores who have done this pre-order method thru distributors for many years
As a long term weiss player and big anime fan there are probably a few things that influence the games value/popularity
1. The strength of the set
2. Availability
3. The anime fan base
4. The... waifu -_-
Hope it works out with your investments but the value is probably also determined by how the animes do in the future with further seasons
One of the draw backs and strengths of weiss compared to games like mtg, yugioh, and pokemon is that you can't combine sets unless they are from the series.
Eg. In mtg you can combine war of the spark, zendikar, throne of Eldrone etc in modern, standard or edh etc
However in weiss you cannot combine jojo, rezero, and konosuba in the same deck (unless there's a tournament that allows it but bushiroad doesn't run such tournaments) - this makes certain less popular sets less sought after because the cards in the set aren't as strong- collectors will try to get the sp's but not necessarily the sealed boxes themselves unless of course another season of the anime comes out that causes another set to be released.
Just my thoughts but I could be seriously wrong with predicting the future. You never know this video may just affect sales and cause a spike in buyers/investors
Wow, balls deep. Hope you aren’t over leveraged Rudy meister.
The lack of stop tape is very concerning.
Rudy pinning comments that he made from his 2nd account.
Looks like I met my new Weiss Schwarz dealer... Meet me it the back alley with some of those pink boxes, Rudy. 👀
“The man in the van down by the river.” -Joey Moss 😆
Selling how much is ordered exactly months before shipment. Thought he was talking about secret lairs.
@Alpha Investments why is Rudybot trolling?
