      Thanks for watching! Yes, I understand. My home who is Joseph able to camp conveniently. And not have to pitch a tent and be stuck in one place. Since I quit tent, camping, because my youngest son came too old to go with me, I started researching the van camping idea, just because it seemed the most practical and this is also my family van. I had no intention on building it out and spending a ton of money. However, I did spend money on the refrigerator and the power supply. Those things are important to camp comfortably in my opinion. But everybody has their own way. I might also want to add that I am not full-time, I just camp in my van, I don’t live in it. What goes in must come out! lol
      It’s totally doable. Make it as simple and cost effective as you need to. You will love it! 😃🙌🏼💯 Have a fantastic day!

    My dad built a very similar camp kitchen when I was a child and we would go camping as a family. We would sit it on the end of the picnic table so that the open front would be a countertop. And we could close it up and lock it at night to keep the animals out of it. It made packing for camping so much easier for my mom.

    Nice set up. However I' use a 5 gallon and cut a swimming pool noodle to go around the top of the bucket with trash bags for my toilet since I have bad knees and can not bend that low.
    Also the fold up chairs are good to cut a hole in and stick a bucket under as well if no padding for the bucket and the arms help you get back up too.
    With all that room under the table these things can store easily.

    I know you’re doing a no buildup but let me suggest. You could also have a nesting table above your center console. You can use 3 dollar store cutting boards for the tops and sides L brackets to connect. You might be able to find the brackets, screws and screwdrivers at a good dollar store. Any way it would not take up much space and it would be useful for cooking or setting up another workspace for projects or holding a pitcher of cool water, candle etc. ❤ love the bed setup. How could it be perfect? It does not have heat or air conditioning. Heat, you might get a sleeping bag or something to keep you warm but it is not possible to live without air conditioning, or at least I would not want to.

    • @ModernDayPilgrim
      @ModernDayPilgrim  Рік тому +3

      @@Swan-rb4yg once again, thanks for watching! I guess it’s perfect for me, and other people who think it is. I don’t need heat a built-in heat source. I have a small Mr. buddy heater that I use occasionally. Otherwise, I just sleep in my mummy sleeping bag in all my layered clothing. It’s very doable. No if it was 25 below zero I can see the concern. as far as air conditioning goes, I don’t have that either. I just leave my van window and doors open, and I’m outside for the most part. In the evenings, I take a cool bath turn my fans on and relax. It’s a very simple set up. I have a friend, that is a full-time nomad that lives in his truck. And he does not have air-conditioning either or full-time heat. And he’s been doing this for years. He’s quite content with his set up. And I’m quite content with mine. We all have different ways of camping, and mine is perfect for me. I do appreciate you stopping by and commenting. Have a fabulous evening!🙌🏼💯😃

    Well done! I'm 5'2" too, so it's good to know the width of a van would work for a bed. A lot of people put double beds in their campers/vans, and they take up so much room. Never understood why a single person would do that. I live in a house and use a single sized bed. I've seen those camping boxes before. Always like seeing no-build setups. Thanks.

    I would see if a swivel base could not be attached to the two cab chairs to turn them around. Makes a big difference.
