I agree as well. I love your channel and I love how dedicated you are. I mean you would have to be really dedicated to flying to stay up until 3:15 just to do a flight! Wow. Good job and keep it up... ; )
+Micahel Roach Haha, great! I never tell ATC in advance that I'm going to make a video, so the flight will be as honest as possible ;) Thanks to you and the other vZME members for providing a great ATC service! :)
I used to do it. Didnt have enough money to buy a pilot shirt when i was younger....took one of my white church shirts....took notecards and a sharpie and yellow crayon and the rest is hostory.
*truck drives through cockpit* "oh. That shouldn't happen!" -Made me laugh far more than it should have, mind you that's probably because I've just finished watching this and it's now half past 6 in the morning in the UK, time for bed I think :P
I realised that you uploaded only in school today! I couldn't wait to get home and watch it. Honestly, you make the best VATSIM videos. I really appreciate all that work that you put in. Keep up the amazing job mate! PS do you have skype? PPS Do not pressurise hydrolic system A when push back tug is conected, because system A controls nose steering, and once it gets presure it might damage the tug ir injure someone.
I did not notice all of the "technical difficulties" you spoke of except for the ground vehicle slicing through your a/c as you entered your parking spot lol, but that is the sim, not you. This was extremely informative and I learned so much! It is past my bedtime here in New Jersey but I look forward to getting some sleep and watching many more videos on your channel. Thank you, sir!
Thanks for a very Clear video. Fly using VATSIM looks less intimidating now. Your advices are the best. Keep doing more videos like this. Cheers from CZA2509.
+Adrian Koola Thank you! Who knows, would love to visit the other hemisphere sometime! :) Would be an early morning flight for me then, which is not impossible to do, so... ;)
Is this ATC Pilot Edge air traffic control via Microsoft Flight Simulator X effectively " streaming"? If this is in fact streaming, is the Intel or new AMD cpu/s better?
"Miserable weather" Haha. When it rains in Atlanta, it's something you definitely don't want to be stuck it. I can hardly sleep when there's a thunderstorm overnight.
EXCELLENT video mate! Thank you! very informative as I am preparing to fly my first vatsim and tbvh have no clue what to say... I can fly the plane exactly as needed, but this allows me to plan what to say and what charts I need ready. Side Note - The first time I tried online, I started on an active runway (not realizing thats no no) and got admins all over me :O So, thanks man!
+AviationPro No problem, because of your videos I started fly on vatsim so thank you for all your videos about Vatsim it really helps. Greetings from Czech Republic :)
Nice video, I give you a lot of credit for flying a simulated flight at 0 dark 30 in the middle of the night. How old are you, I assume by your age that you have a goal of becoming a pilot? I can remember being at 30 West over the Atlantic many times at the same time you are flying, so it is part of the international flight lifestyle. Here comes the instructor in me: when ATC gave you the clearance to descend to cross Rome at 14,000, you read back "descend and maintain 14,000". i am surprised the VATSIM controller did not query you to make sure you understood to cross Rome at 14.000. Also, once you get on radar vectors for the approach, intercept course to the FAF or one of the waypoints on the final approach course out in front of you, otherwise if you had to do a missed approach LNAV guidance would not be available. ATL was still the active waypoint as you made the approach. Also you want to start slowing a little earlier to be established at the FAF with Gear Down and final flaps, on speed. I can see you as a future "real" pilot for sure...Boy, if they only had this stuff when I was young and aspiring to be a pilot, amazing...
Thank you! Yes, it's not something that I (want to) do often, but it's nice to experience the ATC and flying in the US every now and then. I'm 22, I'm studying at university first before I'm considering going into flight training. Indeed, sometimes VATSIM controllers don't really bother if they feel you actually understood the instruction, sometimes it's too busy on the frequency to correct those kind of things, but indeed it would be good :). Thanks for the tips, I'm trying to improve wherever I can over time! :)
Well good luck to you, I see you on the Flight Deck for sure if that is what you want to pursue. You have a huge head start with immersing yourself in the flight simulation world. When I was young, the only thing I had was a small pen size radio with a little tuning knob and earphones that could tune and listen to aviation frequencies. Now you can do that much more efficiently with an app. Let me know if I can help you in any way, best of luck in your studies.
Is this ATC Pilot Edge air traffic control via Microsoft Flight Simulator X effectively " streaming"? If this is in fact streaming, is the Intel or new AMD cpu/s better?
AviationPro You are welcome sir. If you don't mind Id like to download the video and give it to some of my students who started working at the local airport in my city in Iraq.
Thank you for this very good video, again :) I love it when you fly IFR, because of your calmness in any situations THUMBS UP! You did great for your first time flying the US airspace. I departed KATL on CTP and it was amazing, too. If you don't mind I want to give you a slight improvement for the next time. When I am approaching, I try to keep my speed less than 220 IAS at least on the base leg. This gives you a better control on the approach and you don't have to dive that hard. Besides, you managed to look more professional than some other US guys on the frequency ;) Very good work and very good taxi awareness on the big airport in Atlanta! Looking forward for the next time! bye!
+Marco Hölscher Thanks! Yes, I kind of forgot about my speed during the approach. Since the 737 is already a pain to slow down I had to use the spoilers at quite a low altitude to lose some speed. Thanks for watching! :)
Great video, can't wait for another vatsim video! Just one question, I am still saving up some money to buy a pmdg, but can I fly with the default planes with a real livery and use online flight planner with sid and star? When do you think a person is experienced enough too start on vatsim? Should I buy the pmdg or wait for dovetail's version (idk if it's going to bee like the pmdg)? I know a lot of question haha :)
+Nigam Patel Thank you! You can't enter SIDs and STARs properly into default aircraft, I would just save some money for the PMDG. Trust me, it's a whole lot better than default airplanes and it actually makes flying on VATSIM easier. Minimum age you can enter VATSIM is 13, but I would say at least 16 with proper knowledge about the aircraft and procedures to start becoming experienced ;)
You should take a screen shot of the back of the cockpit, and put that behind you in the video. Make it look more realistic. Not sure if that's a green screen thing, or maybe there's a way to do it without a green screen.
This is a rather old video. My room was simply dark and the brightness on my screen quite high. In today's streams I have raised the gamma value so you can see stuff better at night.
Nope I don't. It is a bit outdated, but if anything is wrong I usually just add waypoints manually by inserting a coordinate instead of a waypoint name, that usually works :)
Love the videos and such. I have both FSX and FS9. Like you and so many others, love FS9 because of performance and invested a lot of time and money. Question in regards to VATSIM 11/19/2015 KMEM to KATL. As you pulled into RAMP 5, I noticed airport animation. Is that the animation from IS Atlanta 2012? I looking for some animation in my A/P. This is my first comment post to you and I didn't look that far into the others, but what is your Rig setup?
+SuperToiletDuck Thank you! :) That's correct, it's the ImagineSim Atlanta 2012 scenery. Most good payware airport addons come with animated ground traffic. Using Aerosoft's AES you can also add moving gates and other ground vehicles near your own airplane. Here's more info about my rig: aviationpro.nl/flight-simulation/tips-tricks/#system
Thanks for the feedback and link. I recently upgraded my video card to r9 390 from an HD6770. I have an AMD CPUx6 @ 2.8. Everything runs smooth now, but I might give a little OC to the CPU to 3.4 and see how much better it gets. Might help my other game. Thanks again.
I prefer the look of the ifly 737 to the pmdg as it has almost has the same amount of systems, it isnt over expensive and it doesnt require a MLG Pc. I think this should run it well. A8-6600K 3.9Ghz boost 4.2ghz and higher with Razor Cortex XFX 29 270X 8gb Seagate Barracuda f2a88xm-ds2 Im planning on getting ifly 737 and 747 for Christmas. This system should run it ok right?
Another question just popped into my head: If you do checklists on the simulator, there should be defined states after each new start of the simulator (so some items are always already checked). Is it possible for the simulator to introduce random failures every once a while so you really would have an emergency or an abnormal in your flight with VATSIM? Or do you need to set that feature up and just quickly forget yourself, so you are surprised when it happens?
+Faldrian I think for some addons that is possible, but then still, the chance that such a failure will happen is still too large compared to the real world. If I ever do emergencies, I do that offline. An abnormal flight in VATSIM would be more related to weather for example, such as a diversion or multiple go-arounds and then divert, but a mechanical failure would not be very realistic, otherwise VATSIM ATC will get way more mayday calls in one week compared to real world ATC in a whole year :P
I don't think I did, as far as I'm aware of it's not necessarily part of the standard phraseology, but ATC might notify you about the current information and then you will have to acknowledge it.
+TheKillerGamer I would recommend not to use FSX at all and go for Prepar3D and slowly start building up the sim with your favorite addons. If you want all the default stuff to look better without having to buy addons go for Xplane 11
AviationPro Ok thanks. However, how do you buy it. On the website I see many different options and I'm not sure of the "normal" one. Also, I already bought the PMDG 737 NGX for FSX. Will I have to re-buy it? Thanks
i love your vatsim flights! It teaches me alot of lesson before i start my first flight from VATSIM! please make some more! But i dont understand the "via BBKING" thing..
Can you do a flight in The Bahamas? MYNN its a beautiful airport and I am an S1 and to be an S2 next week! Thanks very much. Love your videos by the way.
+Eric Boxerman I can't make any promises on that and I have a busy schedule next to this hobby, so unfortunately it will take a little while before I can make a flight again :(. Have fun becoming a S2 though! :)
I did not say that the wind would be coming from the West, but that the airport is probably going to use "West operations', you can read more about that here: www.atlantacenter.net/pilot-center/atlanta-tower
What is the logic deciding which engine to start up first? Is it the "outer" engine when pushback will turn you around (the engine on the wing doing the big curve above ground) - and if so: why? Oh and it's a pity there was a scenery mismatch... would have liked to see another vatsim-pilot taxiing in front of you. Nice guy though. :)
+Faldrian It has nothing to do with the pushback. It differs per airline, but in most cases I see that they start the #2 engine first on the 737, because that engine runs some hydraulic systems that you want to make sure are working properly. Besides that, there might be some other mechanical and safety reasons to do it that way, but that would become a technical story of which I'm not familiar. Other than that, it's just a habit for me to do it this way as well :)
+Craft The Computer I believe I've heard @AviationPro say that he uses FS2004 because he has a lot of money invested into FS2004 addons already. Also, FS2004 surprisingly has some advantages over FSX, such as VC rain effects and less OOM errors.
+Craft The Computer That's right, and even no OOM errors at all! And it runs a lot smoother, 40 - 60 fps in various conditions, and I will not be able to get that with FSX or Prepar3D, but I'm looking forward to a 64-bit version of Prepar3D if that ever comes out. :)
I just started vatsim and I use your videos a lot. You made specific mention of saying seventeen and not one seven in your flight number are there specific rules for this? I also regularly use 17 in my flight numbers.
@@AviationPro Thanks! I actually just came across your video on 10 differences between Europe and US where you explained that haha. Appreciate the reply though.
hi there! how long have you been flying with vatsim and were you nervous your first time? how many flights did you make before you actually became comfortable with talking to ATC? How long does the flight planning take and what do you do to occupy yourself during your flights...i know, (a lot of questions, right?) :)
+chidragon60 Hi! I'm on VATSIM for about 9 years now and yes of course I was nervous ;). I think I had to make 15 to 20 flights before it became a bit comfortable. Flight planning takes about 1 to 2 hours. And I make short flights most of the time, so I'm busy enough with preparing the approach already ;) Otherwise, I would be eating or I try to learn a bit more about the aircraft I'm flying.
Hey, I start using Squawkbox some time ago cause I can't run Vpilot! But I have got a problem: I can't calibrate my microphone! It always says there was too much background noise, even if it's completely silent! They tell me to buy an new microphone with higher quality, but mine is working well! I have no problem when talking on skype or for my FSX Videos! Do you know what to do? Thanks! :-)
Hello Aviationpro! I just started with vatsim and i realised that my fmc is not working I am using the Boeing 737-800 default fsx airplane what should I do? I have tried to download some free airplanes but the fmc aren't working there either.
Before takeoff, you need to put the V2 speed in the MCP. Do we have to do V2 speed plus five? For an example, if the V2 speed is 140, do we put in 145? Also the same for approach speeds
AviationPro Okay, so usually wind is over 5 knots, then i will select vREF + 5. And if its under 5 knots, or there is none at all, i'll select just vREF
I'm a newbie at vatsim and honestly, before starting my flights, I watched and learned all your videos. Very great videos. :) But I still have this one problem. I need help with the honeywell FMC.
+AviationPro Well I'm having a hard time with SID and STARS because I can't program those in the honeywell FMC. I just had my first "not so successful" flight last night from EGLL > EHAM and flew the BPK6J departure manually.
+Ultimate Aviation HD That's right, I don't like them. Sometimes you want to park at a gate that's being used by the same flight in the real world, and then a static aircraft is blocking it, that sucks. Also, if ATC assigns you a gate, and you can't go there because a static aircraft is blocking it, that sucks too! :P
Does anyone know where he gets all of his information? for example, at ´14:18 he showed a picture at what heading Runway 36C was, and it also showed his route.
There are multiple places you can locate this information. For example, at the time stamp you have he has the SID procedure up for the BBKNG FOUR Departure. I use Air Nav (www.airnav.com) for all of my charts for SIDs/STARs/Runways. Very valuable information on that site for each airport.
Depends on what airplane you ar eflying, but in general, yes. Although you have to make sure you reset your MCP altitude and that the altitude restrictions on the charts correspond with those in the FMC.
+MrQwerty2524 Lots of studying and practicing. You can find a lot of aviation communication and cockpit tutorials on my website: aviationpro.nl/vatsim/ and aviationpro.nl/flight-simulation/
I was just entering JAAXX as the first waypoint in the legs page again, because I wanted to directly fly towards it. If a controller tells you to direct to a certain waypoint you can use the same procedure.
+AviationPro Ok. It would be really annoying if default ATIS stepped on Vatsim's ATIS! Can you do a tutorial on how you actually set up the flight on FSX? Did you just go to Free Flight and change the location and gate?
Can you help me with my AES? It says chocks into position. And then ctrl shift w doesn't work it gives a blue screen with no options. Can you make a tutorial on it?
+CaptainZhariff Thank you! I purchased it at some kind of work clothing shop, but you can get it at any pilot shop. Just search for it on Google and you'll be able to find some cool stuff ;)
+Andrew Letaev Yep, this is still FS2004. Somehow UA-cam assigns FSX to all my videos while it's actually FS2004, but I can't change that on every video ;).
+AviationPro Thank you for prompt reply and usefull material within your channel. So, I was very surprised to see FS 2004 with this beautiful graphics ! As undersstand you also fly for yourself and as minimum PPL holder or on the way to it ?
Great to see you again! Now, if you had landed at Nashville (KBNA), I would have bought you dinner (or breakfast, even)! Superb work here. Thank you for it.
+Bud Fields (PPTS) Thanks! Yeah, that would have been awesome! It was my alternate though, unfortunately the weather at Atlanta was too good for that! :D
+elle ee ALT INTV still takes into account the VNAV flight path. I believe it descends the aircraft at around 1000 feet/min and it does not change the cruise altitude in the FMC. Level change is simply descending at a selected speed without taking the calculated vertical path into account.
I was the Memphis Tower controller! That's hilarious that I randomly came upon the video!
+THE BRYAN (thebryan426) Haha, that's great! :) I always make my flights for such videos without any notice, but I'm glad you found it! ;)
Was it just the radio or did you sound quite tired

Misschien wel ja, het liefst KLM natuurlijk, maar voorlopig is een pilotenopleiding nog niet aan de orde ;)

"Miserable weather"
Haha. When it rains in Atlanta, it's something you definitely don't want to be stuck it.
I can hardly sleep when there's a thunderstorm overnight.
Haha, hmm I guess it's because we don't encounter such weather in the Netherlands that often, so any rain is miserable weather for me :D
At least it makes for great flying. Flying in Atlanta rain is like playing Russian Roulette with lightning strikes.
True that, good thing that we have a weather radar in flightsim these days ;)

I had a ATC lead me right into on coming traffic in ATLANTA once. Guy was busy I think.
James Meunier Same
Well done !
Thanks! :)
What flight planner are you using? Btw, i like your videos man! Keep it up ;)
+Muhd Syahmi Thank you! :) Usually Rocketroute.com, but lately I'm also using Simbrief.com a lot :)
+AviationPro So do you subscribe to navigraph for the latest navdata? because simbrief seems outdated already.
Nope I don't. It is a bit outdated, but if anything is wrong I usually just add waypoints manually by inserting a coordinate instead of a waypoint name, that usually works :)
Great video :)
+utd4life09 Thanks! :)
@AviantionPro at 5:50 why do you think they will be using north side for landing? Longer runways?
Did you learn everything from Vatsim? I want to join Vatsim but I worry I'm not prepared enough. Is there training for beginners?
Yes, watch videos, read tutorials etc. and practice at small airports. You can watch loads of VATSIM tutorials on my channel ;)
Super vette video! Toch vraag ik me af waar heb je die t'shirt gekocht? Ik kan het niet vinden! Bedankt :)
+Pimmie24 Thanks! Zoek gewoon op "piloten overhemd" op Google, dan zie je wel een paar opties ;)
Thanks haha :p
Badass cat!
this is the lad I remember
From what?
@@AviationPro from the FS2004 VATSIM vids :P
Yes good idea, because FS is quite a CPU-dependent game. Just make sure you cool the CPU well ;)
I enjoyed the live stream, Even though I couldn't log onto chat for some reason.
Thanks! Not sure what could be the problem, you don't need any account so you should just be able to type when the admin (me) is online ;)
I prefer the look of the ifly 737 to the pmdg as it has almost has the same amount of systems, it isnt over expensive and it doesnt require a MLG Pc. I think this should run it well.
A8-6600K 3.9Ghz boost 4.2ghz and higher with Razor Cortex
XFX 29 270X
8gb
Seagate Barracuda
f2a88xm-ds2
Im planning on getting ifly 737 and 747 for Christmas. This system should run it ok right?
+Oracle Gaming Me too ;)
Another question just popped into my head: If you do checklists on the simulator, there should be defined states after each new start of the simulator (so some items are always already checked).
Nice! I would love to see a flight from EHAM to LPPT.
+Bastiaan Mulder Thanks! Unfortunately, I can't make any promises on that ;)
I’d love to copilot with you next time you fly in America!
Sorry if I missed this, but did you report the ATIS information when approaching KATL or was it in ATC's discretion?
I don't think I did, as far as I'm aware of it's not necessarily part of the standard phraseology, but ATC might notify you about the current information and then you will have to acknowledge it.
AviationPro Thanks! Best of luck on your aviation-exams preparation ;)
Thank you :)
What graphic addons do you recommend? Do you think it is worth it to start "playing around" with FSX itself or should you just stick to default?
+TheKillerGamer I would recommend not to use FSX at all and go for Prepar3D and slowly start building up the sim with your favorite addons. If you want all the default stuff to look better without having to buy addons go for Xplane 11
AviationPro Ok thanks. However, how do you buy it. On the website I see many different options and I'm not sure of the "normal" one. Also, I already bought the PMDG 737 NGX for FSX. Will I have to re-buy it? Thanks
TheKillerGamer I suggest the £50 version, or academic, you still get the full sim, no restrictions!
TheKillerGamer Also, if you bought it off steam, contact the company and check to see if it works with P3D Also.
Lord Walnut Thanks for the reply. Got everything sorted out!
IM NOT DRUNK, or HIGH but i see VATSIM VIdeo YAYAAYYAYAYAYYAAYYAY!
+Vuk Radevic Haha ;)
btw how old are you? maybe you can make some vid telling us more bout yourself... maybe name or are you going to be actual pilot??? btw luv new vid
Just 20 years old, maybe, I don't know. Could also do that on the website ;)
Yup that would be awesome! Just let us know on Facebook
Love it
+elle ee Thanks!
i love your vatsim flights! It teaches me alot of lesson before i start my first flight from VATSIM! please make some more! But i dont understand the "via BBKING" thing..
Thank you! Glad they do help. The BBKING Four Departure is a Standard Instrument Departure (SID), you might want to look that term up ;).
+AviationPro ohhh ok i will look up more. Thanks!
I wanna get in on using a flight simulator, I wanna know what you o r anyone recommends on software and hardware and possible add-ons.
+Eladio Flores Check out this page, maybe it'll help: aviationpro.nl/flight-simulation/tips-tricks/
+AviationPro No problem man I understand. :)
How did you determine the wind would be coming in from the west in ATL if the TAF was giving you 330 and 340 directions?
I did not say that the wind would be coming from the West, but that the airport is probably going to use "West operations', you can read more about that here: www.atlantacenter.net/pilot-center/atlanta-tower
Just one minor thing: at 3:39 you say, "Six square miles". The "S" in this case actually stands for statute as opposed to nautical.
+Martin Durkin You're right, my mistake :) Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks for the info! :)
+AviationPro I see, thank you!
Great video. :) Why do you use FS2004 and not FSX?
+Craft The Computer I believe I've heard @AviationPro say that he uses FS2004 because he has a lot of money invested into FS2004 addons already. Also, FS2004 surprisingly has some advantages over FSX, such as VC rain effects and less OOM errors.
+Alex's Flying Club ahhh right. thanks
+AviationPro ok, thanks. :)
MORE MORE MORE! (Whenever you feel like, of course ;) )
+Saurabh Acharya Haha, yes more will follow for sure! ;)
I just started vatsim and I use your videos a lot. You made specific mention of saying seventeen and not one seven in your flight number are there specific rules for this? I also regularly use 17 in my flight numbers.
In the US they tend to combine the numbers in callsigns. So KLM1046 becomes KLM ten fourty-six instead of KLM one zero four six
@@AviationPro Thanks! I actually just came across your video on 10 differences between Europe and US where you explained that haha. Appreciate the reply though.
nice!
Thanks!
KMEM is my home town!!!
Awesome!
hi there! how long have you been flying with vatsim and were you nervous your first time? how many flights did you make before you actually became comfortable with talking to ATC? How long does the flight planning take and what do you do to occupy yourself during your flights...i know, (a lot of questions, right?) :)
+chidragon60 Hi! I'm on VATSIM for about 9 years now and yes of course I was nervous ;). I think I had to make 15 to 20 flights before it became a bit comfortable. Flight planning takes about 1 to 2 hours. And I make short flights most of the time, so I'm busy enough with preparing the approach already ;) Otherwise, I would be eating or I try to learn a bit more about the aircraft I'm flying.
Sometimes you just have to make that little step, and then you will find out how amazing VATSIM is! :D
ok, i'll try, and when I do, you'll be the first to know...lol
Hey,
I start using Squawkbox some time ago cause I can't run Vpilot! But I have got a problem: I can't calibrate my microphone! It always says there was too much background noise, even if it's completely silent! They tell me to buy an new microphone with higher quality, but mine is working well! I have no problem when talking on skype or for my FSX Videos! Do you know what to do? Thanks! :-)
+LUX Spotting That's always what Squawkbox says, but you can ignore that. I have that too, and as you can hear my microphone sounds fine ;)
Thank you! :-)
Hello Aviationpro! I just started with vatsim and i realised that my fmc is not working I am using the Boeing 737-800 default fsx airplane what should I do? I have tried to download some free airplanes but the fmc aren't working there either.
The default 737 doesn't have a FMC. Mostly only payware addons have fully functional FMCs like the iFly or PMDG 737.
YESSSS new vatsim best ever thankssssss :) btw are u going to be a real pilot?
+Tiger ezpi Thanks! Not sure yet, currently I'm studying at uni, so no plans yet ;)
AviationPro u should be you would be a great pilot .Hope to see more VATSIM videos in the future :)
Haha, thanks! More will follow for sure! ;)
Your welcome :)
Before takeoff, you need to put the V2 speed in the MCP. Do we have to do V2 speed plus five? For an example, if the V2 speed is 140, do we put in 145? Also the same for approach speeds
+Ozan Akdag Usually just V2. As you can see (at 26:48) there is already a marker for V2+15 (in this case at 160 knots)
AviationPro Okay, and the same for approach speeds?
vREF is indicated, but you usually select a speed of vREF + 5 knots or higher (depending on the wind speeds).
AviationPro Okay, so usually wind is over 5 knots, then i will select vREF + 5. And if its under 5 knots, or there is none at all, i'll select just vREF
No you always select vREF + 5. But depending on the wind speed you should select an even higher speed to compensate for the headwind.
I'm a newbie at vatsim and honestly, before starting my flights, I watched and learned all your videos. Very great videos. :) But I still have this one problem. I need help with the honeywell FMC.
Thank you! What's the exact problem?
+AviationPro Well I'm having a hard time with SID and STARS because I can't program those in the honeywell FMC. I just had my first "not so successful" flight last night from EGLL > EHAM and flew the BPK6J departure manually.
Try to watch some tutorials here on UA-cam, it should work out fine ;)
Wait, in VATSIM, can you see other aircraft even though they are in different simulators?
Yes
@@AviationPro That's awesome
what software do you use to plan your flights I'm sick of the automatic route generators
I am using Simbrief together with Vatroute and Skyvector.
+AviationPro ok cool thank you
Could you please make some video of LPMA approach?
+joku randomi I can't make any promises, but I have done a little video at Madeira once: ua-cam.com/video/PFQyHDVyqx8/v-deo.html
You should collab with Airforceproud95. :)
Lol, I'm not really sure if we share the same style :P
That's what would make it interesting. He did do VATSIM flights on his channel without trolling.
I noticed that if you go to any airport, you never have static aircraft at terminals
How do you know what SIDs are active?
Check the date on the chart, and if you’re in the window it gives it’s active. Hello from 7 months in the future :)
@@Marg1312 haha just seeing this. I am glad to say I am a much more seasoned vatsim pilot. Thank you for the advice!
@@sam83af61 You're welcome! I'm glad to hear of your improvement. Safe landings!
you good tut
Thanks!
Hi there. If I program a star into my fmc, in xplane 10, and I activate vnav, will the plane have me at the right hight to start an approach?
Depends on what airplane you ar eflying, but in general, yes. Although you have to make sure you reset your MCP altitude and that the altitude restrictions on the charts correspond with those in the FMC.
How do you know all this? Where can i find aviation communication tutorials, cockpit tutorials etc?
+MrQwerty2524 Lots of studying and practicing. You can find a lot of aviation communication and cockpit tutorials on my website: aviationpro.nl/vatsim/ and aviationpro.nl/flight-simulation/
AviationPro Cool! thnx
What did you do when you entered the JAAXX fix into the fmc? Do you have to do that whenever it tells you to course intercept to a fix?
I was just entering JAAXX as the first waypoint in the legs page again, because I wanted to directly fly towards it. If a controller tells you to direct to a certain waypoint you can use the same procedure.
AviationPro I understood that part, but when you were talking about calculations, where did you get the number 210 from?
Been a vatsim member for 10 years and never logged on. Needed member number for vAirlines.
Do you have to disable default ATC in FSX to prevent communication issues with online controllers? +AviationPro
+Kevin Davis It is usually automatically disabled. If not, do it manually and lower all the default ATC volumes within the sim.
+AviationPro Ok. It would be really annoying if default ATIS stepped on Vatsim's ATIS! Can you do a tutorial on how you actually set up the flight on FSX? Did you just go to Free Flight and change the location and gate?
I suggest you start following my step-by-step guide here: aviationpro.nl/vatsim/pilot-training/step-by-step-guide/
I was wondering how do you know what SID’s and STAR’s to use
i think either atc assigns them or you add them to your flight plan based on weather and direction
Can you help me with my AES? It says chocks into position. And then ctrl shift w doesn't work it gives a blue screen with no options. Can you make a tutorial on it?
Unfortunately I can't since I don't use FS2004 anymore, best is to check out the Aerosoft forum for help regarding AES.
Thanks
Nice flight and landing! Can I know where or hoe you buy that pilot uniform? I want that too :P
+CaptainZhariff Thank you! I purchased it at some kind of work clothing shop, but you can get it at any pilot shop. Just search for it on Google and you'll be able to find some cool stuff ;)
+AviationPro Ah, thanks so much for the info :D
EZ DOK. YOU NEED IT
Chaseplane is better!
Are you still using FS2004 or this flight was made in FSX ?
+Andrew Letaev Yep, this is still FS2004. Somehow UA-cam assigns FSX to all my videos while it's actually FS2004, but I can't change that on every video ;).
+AviationPro Thank you for prompt reply and usefull material within your channel. So, I was very surprised to see FS 2004 with this beautiful graphics ! As undersstand you also fly for yourself and as minimum PPL holder or on the way to it ?
Nope I don't unfortunately, but I might do flight training in the future! :)
+AviationPro Thank you for clarification :-) Anyway wish you all the best and a lot of interesting videos in the future !
+AviationPro P.S. Special thanks to you for this training flight in USA :-) I felt my self like observer on jump seat :-)
what is the different between flight level change and altitude ITNV?
+elle ee ALT INTV still takes into account the VNAV flight path. I believe it descends the aircraft at around 1000 feet/min and it does not change the cruise altitude in the FMC. Level change is simply descending at a selected speed without taking the calculated vertical path into account.
