The stove itself is 18" long and each of the 4 stove pipes fit inside. With the legs attached the stove sits about 20-22" above ground (to the top), the tubes (4 x 17.5" = 70") stand almost 6', eight to the top when assembled. The tobes are 2.75" in diameter, basic exhaust pipes for a car, which means you buy extensions at an auto parts store.
    I acquired this through E-Bay for $45.

Can you comment on the quality of this stove and how it has held up? I am looking into getting one for my preps and am looking to see how well it holds up. It looks like it's been about a year since the last comments have been made on here and wanted to see what you thought so far. Thanks!

mikeycfd79 I have no complaints. It has worked well for at least two years now. I would recommend that you go outside and do a hot burn for several hours and burn off the cheap non heat paint. Then sand it down, coat with high temp wood stove paint and burn it in again to set it. Then you're set! For the price you can't beat this stove. it is not the most perfect little stove, but if you watch the hot tent video you'll see it in action in a snow storm,, kept me nice and toasty and I used it to cook breakfast in the morning. I have used it camping in -25 degree weather and stated nice and warm. If you're solo it will be cold in the morning, if there are 2 or more of you, set a watch rotation to keep it stoked all night.

Could the fact that the water is taking so long to boil............boil down to the fact that your fire may not be hot enough for a long enough time to produce percolation?

Thanks for watching. I have used this stove now 3 times and so far,, wonderful! I don't know how it will last but so far it has handled being knocked around and used. If you can get it at the right, buy one.

The later models issued by this company have no problem with the paint burning off. Also, this is not a military stove , it was made for campers only and has not been issued to any military of any country.

I think that a good rocket stove would boil that whole jug of water in 8 minutes or less and the eggs in 2 or 3 minutes. Plus they use 1/4 the wood. I just don't know if the exhaust they create is a big problem in the food or not.

Yes a rocket stove would probably be faster, the exhaust shouldn't be problem if a person is using hard woods, pine would be an issue for sure.
I do use this stove in my tent so I can control the smoke and intensity of the flame/heat.

So, it took 40 mins for water to simmer? A concrete rocket stove boils water in 5minsIt's odd the manufacturer doesn't use correct paint for the stove, wonder why

I found the rounded top doesn't conduct heat like I thought it would, but has gotten a bit better with practice. As to the paint,, that blew me away for a stove,, but I only paid $45 for the whole shootin' match so I figured I'd have to make some kind of a mod!!

I am contemplating getting one of these stoves. Would you recomend this stove. I am interested in it for packing only and minimal use. I built a stainless steel tent stove with secondary combustion air ducts as well as a baffled flue. It works extremely well but weighs about 80 #.

I recommend the stove. however not sure I would pack with it. It doesn't weight 80#, maybe 25#. If I had pack animals or 4 wheelers, then yes I would take it.
