I am a person who has camped for many years. In my youth I spent a great deal of time outside. Somewhere along the way I moved towards the indoors, family, friends and jobs kept me busy and running around chasing my tail. I married my wife 12 years ago and promptly bought a motor home, in fact we had two of them, class A drivable types. We have since moved to a 22 foot pull behind and more recently moved towards a tent (again) as you can see on my channel. We have kept the pull behind but find that setting up the tent, especially in the fall, winter and early spring months has been a blast.
We have both re-discovered the great outdoors, and we spend much of our time outside.
If you like being outside or are thinking about being out more and are unsure of how to go about it, just follow along, watch the videos and ask questions.

Pulk Sled, Terrain Sport Sled D54
After buying a set of snow shoes I discovered the best way to carry winter camping supplies is via a sled. So I picked an inexpensive sled off amazon and made some simple mods. I believe this really help in the ability to get out and winter camp.

Here is the mod I have done to the the SCGF 36. This is the full rendition of what I did to mod the blade. I did the same process for the SCHF 37, except that I did not use the wire wheel on the drill press.

would two of these be good for setting around out side?
Am I able to refuel without going out or can I refuel immediately after it goes out?
why so nervous or worried mass used very effect and sold unit what is there to be scared about its either going to work or its not that's it the video is good and i appreciate your vid just wanted to point out this is not some rando nobody ever heard of item was a very popular and useful tool as you gained the knowledge yourself of and still use full and sold to this day (used)
Where did you get the teeth things on the front! Was it specifically for that brand and model? Thank you. Great vid!!
I needed to know if the pathfinder bottle and cup would fit. Thanks for the info and great video.
I'd love to buy that from u sir
There is no titanium version of this stove. I really wish they’d make one.
I just bought one for 5 at the thrift store. But it didnt gave a snuffer cap which was mentioned in the direction on the heater. That is why I am watching your youtube. Trying to figure this out. Thanks
Does the ugly label on your Pathfinder canteen set eventually burn off? Does the black soot come off without your scratching the metal up?I just got that set, but my cup has no holes in the top to attach the bottle-holder to. Did you drill those yourself? And the cuts in the lid - you did those, too?
I saw a black broiler set today at the thrift store that looked like I could put coals in the bottom of it and place the flat part on top of that to make a make-shift heavy-duty grill or stove to use at home. It even looked fine for using in a solar oven because it was thin enough and black. Do you have any metal pot/pan modification videos where you make them into stoves?
Is Zodi a real company made many attempts to contact them
put pink dish washing soap on outside of pan - no soot after light rinse wash
It is a catalyst system there is no flame inside it once the fire on the outside Burns out The catalyst takes over burning the fuel as it evaporates with no flame
I have a 512a with no Snuffer any idea what I could use to Snuff out the flame?
Qué bien! Gracias!
1. Your Anvil is too far from forge 2. Remove glove from hammer hand 3.work steel at bright orange or dull yellow 4. Bring Hammer higher 5.dont take so long from fire to anvil no need to brush before hammering unless looking for a punch mark 6. That Ball peen is too light for that material 7.your wrong handed (JK about this one)😂
You started the timer long before you put the pot on the stove.
Some models have you dribble a ring of fuel around the inside edge of the burner followed by an "X" pattern on top of the burner. Others, like your and mine have us trun it upside down. I really don't think it matters unless there's a new wick that needs priming. I dribble about 2 oz of fuel on top of the burner and it works fine.

👍👍👍 .. nice. Using what you've got and a bit of lateral thinking. Another advantage is that it is already paid for. Manufacturers and Sellers of 'Gear' will always try and convince one the one cannot function without what they have on offer (quite understandable .. that's business). I'm in favour of 'contained fires'. Here in Switzerland, even during periods where there are no fire restrictions in the forest, the Authorities have absolutely no sense of humour with those who set their trees on fire .. eye-watering fines being, in such cases, the order of the day. A preference for 'retro' gear .. all credit to you Sir. As a 'Baby Boomer' myself (YOB 1950), I tend to keep and use gear bought many moons back. As long as it does the job, it's good. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..
Anyone how can I get clean burn using this stove without soot can someone please explain measurements also in OZ and what your using ?
I see several versions of that knife on the website. What version do you have there and which one would you recommend. Dude that's a knife. No wimpy wannabe. Bit pricey, but quality costs. I clicked because I see you doing what I do. Never had the metal plate. Just cleared a spot of ground. That metal plate is nice. Do you sell those? No shop to Make my own.
👍
Thank you for doing this video! Been looking at alternatives.
Got some new life in that old hickory knife. Love those blades and love these sharpeners. 👍
Does this type of forge(table forge) work for crucible work as well for casting? I wanna start working in metals and I like the design of the table forges I've seen along with that I want a versatile forge.
Just use a lighter
Just bought one the other day this is exactly what I was trying to find wood burning using the Sterno stove thanks a lot
Simple and adequate for the purpose
Parts are scarce Coleman dosent have thdm, and takes a long time to heat up . Does not put out suffient heat. Now worth having.
Love my sage great bow for a even better price. Got the gloves hate them got the normal tab ahhh ok and picked up the Olympic style tab it’s ok I guess but keep going back to just off the finger tips like the feel way better but it dose start to hurt and more so in the cold 🥶
And love the arrows they look awesome
These woodgas stoves are meant to be burned from the top down. Preload the fire, rather than feed it
I love mine... it works great for me...
The month and year it was manufactured, should be stamped into the metal on the bottom of it
Definitely coming in handy 👍
If you run a wire (12 gauge copper is fine) from the front posts to the back rod, it can be used with a Trangia, or a soda can stove. The wire forms bottom to that space, and doesn't interfere with folding.
I've got two of these I picked up at a garage sale, they're the gold color ones though. Use it quite a bit.
I like this stove and have owned/used them over the years. The plate on the bottom seems like a great hack to hold a Trangia or other small heat source. However, I have a concern using wood in a thin-walled aluminum stove. It seems that there is the potential to burn/melt the stove if the fire is too hot. Anyone have thoughts on that? In my experience, after making a fire in a small twig stove, I let the fire die down to embers so it doesn't' blacken my pots and pans. That's a lot of heat for thin aluminum. IMHO Thoughts?
Thanks for the tutorial. I did it and came out nice. Waiting for the snow to try it on. Hope you are doing well. I see you are not active recently.
Super explicat
I wouldn't turn it over either
I got one at goodwill i havent tried it yet.
LOL, I still get a kick out of our friend telling us that "this is just for medicinal purposes". It never gets old. A smooth talking Skipper.
