Never forget Chuck Bednarik had a degree from Penn... Was a war bombadier and flew numerous missions during WW2..oh and he also was the league's best LB and a great Center. RIP Concrete Charlie
I listened to the Championship game on my Christmas gift 7 transistor radio. Unfortunately my dad had to work, but i think he also heard the radio broadcast. I think Bill Campbell announced the game but i coulď be wrong. Thankyou Ray Didinger.
And that’s why I hate Dumb Cowgirl fans when they say we only one 1 Super Bowl , The Eagles also won three world championships. Like what these guys did don’t count
I have both Chuck Bednarik and Tommy McDonald's autographs. Met em both as well and they were two very outstanding people. Complete opposites from one another, but both very outstanding. Rest In Peace Concrete Charlie and Tommy Mac.
I know that Ray Didinger has been inspired by some NFL greats but I hope that he understands how many ppl he’s inspired with his excellence & the way he’s carried himself in sports journalism. He’s a quintessential pro while being an unabashed Eagles fan. I’m not an Eagles fan but learned to appreciate the team & it’s history through Ray Didinger to such an extent that sometimes I feel like I’m betraying my Steelers. Thank you Mr. Didinger.
When we were kids and my buddy Pete and I were having a catch we were always "Jerginson to McDonald, he was usually Sonny (he had a stronger arm) and I was Tommy, spent many a day doing that, great times! PS: we weren't too big on VanBronklin.
This is a lot easier to watch now that they've won the Superbowl. I used to watch these and be like, ah well it's not a Superbowl. Now since that hurdle has been cleared, I can appreciate the storied championship history of the 1940's and 1960 Philadelphia Eagles!
When men were men. When the NFL wasn't rigged and was real. When men played on grass and when wet became muddy and didn't care. When society wasn't offended by every little thing.
I don't even know that the Eagles were even underdogs against the Packers in that championship game, same as against the Patriots in SB 52. That is why Eagles and other original pre Super Bowl era teams are so much special than the other newer teams. Other fans always undermine of our single chip title, we actually had 4 chips old combined with the SB.
Ray Didinger, at 34:31 why does Green Bay player #88 have a "G" logo on his helmet? Don't see that logo on either side of any other Green Bay player's helmet. Again, thanks for the memories.
The Packers helmets did not yet have the famous "G" logos on them at this time. Their warm-up jackets were still in the teams original colors of navy blue and gold.
My family had season tickets (from my dad's company). Franklin Field is the best stadium for watching football in the nation. Then for the NFL championship game, the company gave their tickets to customers. The game was sold out, and we weren't going to get tickets. But the Eagles put up temporary stands on the Franklin Field track, and we got seats on the 50 yard line right behind the Packers! What a game!
True legends of the game Love my Eagles and all the history 🤝🦅
These men stil 'glow' when they talk about playing and winning thogether, as a team.
Never forget their legacy.

All Facts, check out the highlight i did of him.
Actually he was a waist gunner on a B-17. It was a much more dangerous job than a bombadier.
Rip Chuck bednarik one of the greatest Eagles players ever
"Nobody ever played Quarterback better than The Dutchman in 1960"-Alex Karras.
RIP Tommy McDonald. Retire No. 25

Still my favorite Eagles team of all-time. The 2017 team is second.

How great is it that we beat G.B. to win that Chip, n we beat N,E. to win our S.B,! Both teams were the best teams in their times.

What was it about Van Brocklin that you didn’t like?

Bobby Jackson and Chuck Bednarik made that game winning tackle on Jim Taylor. No one gave full credit where it was due.
My great uncle played for that team
Looks like #79 Gene Gossage getting to Bart Starr on the last play of the game won the game too at 34:34
1960 really was a great year all around for Pennsylvania sports lol.
Rip world champion John madden

The Eagles should have made Van Brocklin head coach in 1961.
They did but he traded away a bunch of players and then got sent to minnesota

19:55 The same music I hear from the early SpongeBob episodes came from these NFL classics?
Buck Shaw coached at Santa Clara, NOT Saint Mary's! Also, he coached the 49ers from 1946, their first season, to 1954.
I am an E A G L E 🦅
Hmmm a Field Goal was the turning point... Coincidence?!?!
