I will probably use Arccos for life. I purchased it at the start of my golf journey. I do not pay a subscription. I also have the link and it has made the system so much more useable. My big issue has been accuracy with recording my shot data. My big break through came when I started recording each club I hit on my score card. Now after my round it just takes 5 minutes to edit my Arccos score card. I love it!

I got the link and its worked really well. I've always wanted to get a more accurate idea of my distances, gapping and strokes gained. I'll probably renew

I got the sensors, link, and year subscription. I took it out for the first time and the link picked up every shot and club. I really like all the information and can’t wait to get more rounds in.

That's awesome! Not sure where you are weather wise, but I pause my uasge during the fall/winter as to not mess up my data since 80% of my usage is in temps above 70F.

@@ParfortheCourse I’m in Utah so my first try with it was in 35 degree weather. I am pretty much done until March outdoors unless we have a lucky winter. I will be hitting range ball at an outdoor place open year round or at birdie golf indoor simulator for winter. So yes I will be pausing the use until I can go back out again

Great review. I had Arccos for four years I noticed a degradation in shock detection. I originally purchased the smart grips and had four years of no subscriptions. I had the link GEN 1, and it was initially better, but since I don’t check my phone during the round, I would have several shots not detected. I also had a Garmin golf watch that I always had with me for distances while playing (I bought the watch before Arccos). I purchased new clubs, and after doing the cost comparisons, new sensors, Apple Watch (I wanted to have the watch for on-course information), and the subscription, I decided to go with the Shot Scope X5. I will admit the X5 rollout had some technical issues that have/are being worked out. However, from a data analytics perspective, I didn’t see a difference. It was hard for me to pay a yearly subscription when I could get the data I needed from Shot Scope for free.

Appreciate that. I don't know if I pick up the Arccos system without the new club purchase as I used a Garmin watch and handheld prior, along with some phone apps. I remember seeing the Gen1 Arccos sensors and having to tap the link to recognize the shot. I knew that wasn't for me back then. Arccos has come a loooong way, but we are still chasing perfect in this golf data world!

Excellent review. I just got mind with the link. I’m looking forward to seeing how they help me choose clubs and score better

Thank you! The club selection, and strokes gained/lost really are impactful in year 1. Good luck this season!

Got a ping driver recently, was so surprised with the free Arccos sensors, played 5 rounds with them, I love it

I got my free sensors right at the end of the season. I only have one round. I did use my apple watch. I'm still trying to decide on if I should renew for the upcoming year. It would "technically" be first year. While club distance was my main objective with getting it, I really like the score keeping. I was using 18 birdies for the last 2 years. It's nice with Arccos you really don't need to stop and enter strokes. Again though I did only use it for one round.

I definitely think it’s worth giving a try in year 1, and a full season of play. There is a lot of information that can be used to improve your game, and help with the score collection as you noted. That part has gotten much better through updates in 2022.

Beware if you have an Apple Watch. The first round I played, many shots were missed. I contacted support and found that I had started the round on my iPhone and it was picking up the shots from the microphone of the iPhone which was in my bag, rather than from my watch. You need to open the app from your iPhone but start the round from the iPhone.

I absolutely love my ARCOOS. There’s no way for an amateur to really understand what has changed over time, and your real distances in all conditions.

I also added the link after about 7 months of using the phone for shot detection. The link works great for me as well and i just leave my phone in the cart

Yep. I just played a round today with a new Apple watch, the link is undoubtedly the best option for shot detection.

I have been using this for a little over a month. I definitely do not like carrying my phone in my pocket. But my Apple Watch has been doing just fine. It would be nice if Arcos also provided the link with the sensors I am still on trial right now, but will be happy to update a further review

Yeah, it would be nice to have the link included, truly a different experience. Not sure why the watch isn’t great for me, just too many missed shots for my liking.

what you all have to remember is that Mobile GPS could be 3-20 yards out which is 1-3 clubs for some people.. always keep that in mind when buying equipment

Understand the concern, however when I first started using the system I always checked the gps readings against the range finder. as compared to other GPS based systems, Arccos has been pretty accurate, particularly with the ability to adjust the pin location via the app.

Strongly recommend using the Apple Watch, especially the Ultra as the battery life is long.

Hey, Ryan. My experience with the Apple Watch was so poor, I decided against bashing that aspect as everyone's mileage may vary there. I have considered getting the Ultra, but the Link has made using Arccos thoughtless although I lose the quick glance at yardages & club selection.

Great points here. Arccos is great for the first year to get a realistic assessment of your game, for reassessing when you get new clubs, or for tracking trends if you’re serious about practicing. I basically don’t use it for winter golf.
I decided to stick with Arccos for year 2 myself but not sure yet whether I’ll use the data as golf is hard and we can’t all expect dramatic changes.

    • @ParfortheCourse

Thanks! That is a great call out for winter golf, definitely think that skews the averages. We'll see in year 3!

Lot of issue with this product. Link an be spotty. And I can no longer get club distance and club recommendation to work during round. So far support has not been able to offer a fix.

    • @ParfortheCourse
      @ParfortheCourse  Рік тому +1

That sucks on the club recommendations not working...I have been wearing the link near the front on my belt, and it has improved the pick up of shot detection drastically.
