I have been a Arccos use for 3 years. This past year I’ve kept better stats because I write down each club I hit on my score sheet. Then I’m able to quickly and accurately update my stats at the end of the round. I’m also able to track penalties and any club that misses recording (so I know the sensor needs to be replaced). 123 rounds recorded.
I went with Shot Scope V5 with sensors. I like it a lot and get most of the same data and don’t have the subscription payment every month. I’m very anti subscription. That’s the only reason I went the direction I did.
I have an Apple Ultra, but recently started testing the DeWiz watch…so, not wanting to look weird and have a watch on both hands, I started using the Link Pro…works great. Flawless. I just wish it had a clip to clip to the inside of your pocket.
Watching cause I bought a demo set of PING G710 irons yesterday that have these built in Accos sensors built into the grip. The stickers are still on the top so I’m assuming they’ve never been activated. I’m assuming if I only use the watch for recording shots and never look at the watch, it won’t kill the battery???? I use one of SkyGolf’s incredible GPS’s that are ground mapped so…no need for watch or phone app info. As a side note, I use TruGolf E6 software with SkyTrak to play courses. When I’m done, the E6 portal has every shot overlaid on the course for a visual plus every parameter you could think of on every shot…guaranteed.
I think the Apple Watch is the best way to use Arccos! If you stay on the shot tracking screen, you can catch any missed shots immediately and add them in or just hit your club on the ground to make it register. If you register an extra putt by accidentally hitting your putter on the ground, which I do a lot, again you can immediately subtract it. This way, I am never out of sink with my shots or distances.
What do you suggest for a broomstick putter. My thumb goes on the top of the grip and feels terrible with the sensor. Can you just add a putt each time you put on your Apple Watch? Will that show the location of the putt
It is an absolute awesome product…on the outliers, you should still go into your shots and double check them…I’ve had some shots that were excluded that shouldn’t have been and some included that should be excluded, but rarely…just tap on the smart distance number in your stats and you’ll go to the list…I do love the highlight reel Arccos gives you now comparing you to pro stats…
I'm new to the game. How do you deal with a lost ball? If I hit into the water, or lose one out of bounds, what is the interaction with Arccos (assuming I carry the phone with me)?
I’ve played 337 rounds with ARCCOS (you win) 😉 I use ARCCOS on my Apple Watch WITH my iPhone I didn’t know about the icon indicating someone else has already set the pins 😳 I’ll look for it this morning But I’m curious … What range (how many rounds) do YOU use for your current stats? 🤷🏼♂️ I set mine “compared to a 10.0 handicap” and “over my last 50 rounds” Is there a better setting?
What happens if you take a practice swing and hit the ground. Does it register as a shot? What about if you hit it OB and you hit a second shot from the same place?
It is very good at night counting practice shots, but say you hit a really fluffy shot that isn’t registered because it thinks it may have been practice shot, you can go into the edit function, hit “add shot” and it’ll show where potential shots were taken from, usually including those “hard practice shots.” If you hit it OB, you can either go into the score and add penalty shot at the time, or after the round…very easy.
You can take as many Mulligans from one location as you want and as long as you stay within about 5 yards, it will only register as one shot. The OB question is a little more involved because of this and Arccos has a very detailed explanation in their FAQ online.
Likewise, it doesn’t record your second shot when you hit TWO to get out of a greenside bunker 🙄 … which unfortunately, I am the world’s worst bunker player 🤣
I ordered but sensor kept falling off of my super jumbo grips. I contacted Arccos support, they told me to use tape to hold it to the club. I returned the senors.
I added black electrician tape around the sensor and the end of the shaft. It looks really clean and legit. Just wanted to make sure the sensor stayed put.
No … but I know more about my own game (strengths, what to work on, etc) My handicap is my handicap, and I think it’s more about course management than yardage data. But I’m curious if anyone uses the “Caddy” function (uses the club ARCCOS recommends) 🤔
Have had it for 3 years now using an Apple watch or original Link. Consistently misses a 3rd of my shots. Takes too long to manually add them in while playing. I don’t want to give up on it but just too frustrating. Especially for that it costs every year.
I cannot find any details on their website regarding the subscription costs after the 1st year, even the App doesn't show you, I find this practice rather disturbing that they refuse to show you the costs
I may be abandoning it. was great to establish my distances but if we get a storm or any rain (Every day during the summer) the gps just stops working.
Feature 4 was clutch - was tempted to buy the Link Pro. Are there any advantages to the Link Pro over the watch? Aside from the watch dying on me mid game?
Yes, I love using Arccos with the Apple Watch. But since I now wear a Garmin watch for all my fitness tracking, I use the Link Pro. I miss having distances and the extra Arccos data handy on my wrist, but I use the Garmin for that. But the stat tracking is so much better via Arccos than Garmin, that I still use it, despite having shot tracking built into the Fenix 8. But to answer your question benefits of Link Pro over watch: Battery life not an issue, reduces the amount of technology you're using on the course, if you're someone who likes it that way, arguably less intrusive since you just keep it in your pocket and dont need a watch. But for the most part, if you use Arccos with a newer model Apple Watch, especially an Ultra, I dont think most people need the Link Pro.
I loved arccos too and used it for two years even buying grips with built in sensors but then your grips wear out and it’s a huge cost to buy new. So I was willing to re up with them but when your sensors fail they offer you a discount but still would cost over $100 + and then membership on top of that. I cancelled and told them if I’m paying yearly fee sensors should be free. Thanks but no thanks!
Your opinion vs Garmin CT10's...
Just ordered mine! Should arrive tomorrow and I absolutely can’t wait!

Truly enjoy your channel. Glad to learn that you can play the course with Arccos using Apple Watch! Game changer!

The best! Mine shipped so quick!
I have Arrcos already. Great info. How do you edit to show a penalty stroke?
When you go into edit, you’ll see the “penalty shot” option appear at the bottom of the screen…
What do the subscriptions run?
140€ a year
and when you buy your first sensors you get the year „for free“

I do the same thing
Great Review

If I would do the tracking with the link pro on the course and for the stats plan to use the pc version mainly … do i still need the subscription?
Yes in order to get access to any of it, you have to have the subscription.
THANKS!
I have 210 rounds on Arccos. I really hate the subscription but I'm a nerd enough to love the data.
what about the link versus the linkpro. Can you put the link in your pocket or does it have to be on your belt?
The pro you can keep in your pocket. Which for me is one of the biggest upgrades over the original.
So, I have the original link. Would you say it would be worth getting the link pro?

Can you set the pin on an Apple Watch immediately after holing out on a hole?
Yep!
I’ve had Arccos for several years now. I’m curious to know if anyone has actually improved their handicap since using it.
No … but I know more about my own game (strengths, what to work on, etc)

Try Tangent golf and it’ll more than blow you mind without all the cost
Seems like it’s Golfshot but on steroids. Tons of features!
It’s £120 per year on U.K. Apple App Store.

Loved Arccos until I was hit with the $155 subscription fee after the first year.

Can you play a round or a few holes, actually showing us how it works?
Stop tempting me … I already have a listing of arcos on watch in eBay for 2 months and could stop myself from buying for so long
Garmin having close to 0 approach data makes this painful to watch.
haha real, plus you cant edit the pin or add putts after the fact, kinda shit
