We were so lucky in Australia to have home grown bands like AC/DC. For those of us who were teenagers in the ‘70’s,, Bon Scott will always be a legend & Brian the “new guy” even after 40+ years at the helm!.
Been an ACDC fan for 50 years and yup this is definitely a good one. My favourite album however and song of the same name is Jailbreak. Give it a listen if you haven't already. It came out in 1974
Hi from Down Under. Dave Evans was the original lead singer for AC/DC in 1973-1974. Bon Scott replaced Evans while changing their sound from glam rock to harder blues rock. In September 1974, Bon Scott, a vocalist previously with the Valentines (1966-1970) and Fraternity (1971-1973), joined AC/DC after his former Valentines bandmate Vince Lovegrove introduced him to George (Angus & Malcolm's older brother & former member of the Easybeats) during their stopover in Adelaide in August. Scott worked as a chauffeur for the group until an audition promoted him to lead singer. Former AC/DC manager Michael Browning wrote in his memoir Dog Eat Dog of Evans: "No disrespect to Dave, but they wouldn't have made it with him as singer. He could sing OK, but he didn't have the character Bon brought into the band. The character, the sense of humour, the swagger. They were never going to go as far as they went with Dave out front. Bon was the real deal."
You can bring Wifey out anytime. The two of you are very entertaining!!! I totally love AC/DC as well. I was introduced to them later though via Tony Hawk's skateboarding games... LOL ❤❤❤
I love how your wife said "it's so loud". I saw these guys in concert at an old 2500 person theater, in the 70's. It was so loud that my ears rang for 3 days!!
I saw them in London about 25 years ago and they were AWESOME!! Someone interviewed one of the brothers and asked hey are you guys bothered that everyone is complaining that you all have had 17 albums that sound Exactly the Same? He said...Oh Of Course!! That Bothers Me Terribly!! How Dare they Say that!! We've had at least 19 albums...that sound Exactly the Same...
@@IggyStardust1967 I wasn't a metal head; I did appreciate Awesome Music like the Arrowhead metal fest in the early 80's; yeah I was there in KC. Saw Ozzy in the 80's Also, I saw M Jackson in the mid-80's in SL. Cars, and of course the Eagles in multple places including Denver . Oh, and Billy Joel and Elton. the last couple I mentioned IMHO were the most pathetic
Saw them at Chequers 😂 that's where I met them, hung out between sets, I feel privileged beyond belief - I knew them before they were the phenomenon they are now, Dave was a dick, Brian (brilliant as he is) will always be the "new" guy and Bon ...... well Bon is Bon and he's irreplaceable.
I’ve said this many times. I grew up in Melbourne Australia seeing these guys in the mid 70’s as a teenager with the amazing Bon Scott. We saw them every chance we got, they were my first rock band concert. Bon was the best frontman, so much charisma and he interacted and worked the crowd every time. He will always be their frontman to me, I know that for me I saw the best. What a a legend he is in this country, along with Mal. RIP to them both, never forgotten by Aussies!
Fun fact- an experiment was conducted on the ocean....chum was used to attract sharks to a boat equipped with underwater speakers. They played AC/DC, Judas priest, Iron Maiden, and Ozzy Osbourne to the sharks that were gathering. Guess what. The sharks behavior became excited instead of violent. They played music for hours without offering food, and the sharks circled and only became aggressive when the music stopped. LOL the sharks know how to Rock n Roll. Just an FYI.
G'day Angus school uniform is from where he & myself went to school in Sydney suburb of Ashfield boys high school, Everyone thinks the A on his jacket is for Angus but honestly it was our school jumper A for Ashfield,
When I worked for a huge government construction contractor back in the day, every Friday morning, I used to blast this this throughout the compound. Friday, payday, and some AC/DC always made for a good day. Being in construction for the government was always all about "Dirty Deeds".😂😂😂
I remember a parody of this song called (Dirty deeds done with sheep). At the end he's saying.. " Kneehigh boots, Velcro gloves" haven't heard it in years.
I think this is from Countdown, a famous Australian music show that started in 1974. Every Sunday night and then on Monday at school we'd talk about all the bands that were on the show. Good times.
I never get tired of this song! Their greatest banger. Brian was the best replacement ever but Bon had such charisma and attitude dripping in his voice. Great reaction.
This is going to be fun 😄 Wifey is always welcome. AC/DC is so addictive. Please check out For those about to rock studio version first 🙏. I saw them live in Toronto in 03 in front of 500,000 crazy Canadians at Sarstock. 15 hours of pure entertainment 😅 When they hit the stage the ground was literally shaking 🫨 Great reaction and Peace out guys ☮️ ✌️ 🙏 Yes studio version first always and then live is the best way ❤️
Valentines and fraternity... build me up buttercup...is so Bon Scott! Saw Bon with ac/dc in the early 70s awsome show, especially in a small town, everyone you knew was there...knew of the buttercup song, but only recently put the two together...😊
Dirty Deeds is a great introduction to the Bon Scott era of AC/DC, but you definitely need to check out "TNT", "High Voltage", "Love at First Feel", "Whole Lotta Rosie", and of course "Long Way to the Top if you Wanna Rock and Roll". ☮💜🎶 EDIT: That last song they used in School of Rock.
Also include Let There Be Rock. Fun fact: Bon broke his ankle coming down from his jump when filming the video. That's why every clip of him singing after that point in the song is a live clip
As a grandma from the south in her sixties…can I say that your wife is cute as a button! I recommend the song The Sweetest Thing by Juice Newton for you and your wife.❤
The best thing about early AC/DC with Bon Scott is they were only just breaking through with an original sound and style. You don’t realise how retro the music is till you see the film clips. The sound is so unique to them it hasn’t really aged or dated. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you are in, if there is a radio playing you will eventually hear an ac/dc song.
AC/DC still performs 'Dirty deeds done dirt cheap'... live in concert w/ Brian Johnson on vocals... Rumor has it that AC/DC will announce a US tour soon for 2025... They just completed a European stadium tour in '24. Here's a link to a live performance clip from 1991 of AC/DC performing 'Dirty deeds...': ua-cam.com/video/cAk4OAAzZBs/v-deo.html
My mum loves to tell the story of when she was at an AC/DC concert and Bon Scott picked her up over his shoulder and took her up on stage. It’s one of her favorite stories. 😂
Never saw Bon Scott but in 1981 I saw the Back In Black tour with Brian Johnson still one of the best concerts ever. Live in Thunder Bay Ont Fort William Gardens
I swear as a kid and through my adolescence I always thought they were saying dirty deeds and the Dundore chief! I wasn’t sure what a Dundore chief was but it sounded 😎 ! Gave me a whole new meaning to the song when I got to be about 11 or 12 and figure it out the whole new meaning to the song. Another one that got me was Steve Miller band, jet airliner, it says big old jet airliner but the way he says it sounds like big old Jed had a light on if you listen to the song almost exactly! And if you listen to Aerosmith Sweet emotion, the next time you hear it think of them saying sweep the ocean! Sounds just like it! I guess I used to seeing a lot of the wrong words when I was a kid lol but I’ve always loved music and rock ‘n’ roll baby! Seen AC/DC many times!
You're a lucky man BP, you have a beautiful wife, we should see her more often! I love it when she does reactions with you, I really like hearing a female's reactions to the songs, as well as yours!!!
Straight from the 70s show Countdown, an Aussie staple, 6pm on Sunday nights. Had amazing pull for international and local artists back in the day. Great memories
This filmclip was from a TV show in the 70s called Countdown which was a music show to showcase local and international artist. It came on air in 1974 but it finished in 1987.
Anyone who lived around Bon's hometown of Fremantle in the 80s and 90s has heard stories about him being a player. He actually was regarded as a sex symbol back in the day.
Love your wifey... you are both so entertaining and she brings in a new and interesting take on things which is why I have now become a member so yeah more wifey please! ❤😊
I could be wrong but the guy that jumped bon looked like ted mulry, lead singer from ted mulry gang. They had the song jump in my car, another classic rock song with that touch of humour.😊
"Dirty deeds... DONE WITH SHEEP!!" 😊 Yes, you have to do the studio version, it's really in the spirit of the song... A good friend of mine did the artwork for Bon Scott's head stone!

Yep, Dave actually sucked, Bon was way better 😊
i think wife would also like It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Roll, on the back of the truck with the bag pipes that you loved

The John Farnham live cover worth a mention also.
@@IllyO yes you are right, i feel she would like John Farnham
Same song on the tv program is cool as well.
and i welcome you to Melbourne , Australia 🇦🇺
I hope you understand my meaning ....😂😂
Love anything with Bon Scott!
For a huge laugh, watch him as a priest singing “ Let There Be Rock” with Angus dressed as a choirboy with a halo! 😂

Old AC DC is the best. Bon Scott's era is definitely my favorite. Another great one is "Can I Sit Next to You Girl". Also, "Whole Lotta Rosie".
Her head immediately started banging to the beat. I like it. Definite head, banging music.
AC /DC should play half time in the Super Bowl
Wild man Bon Scott!! I love him!!
Angus still misses Bon to this day, one of the greatest bands in the World. Thank you for listening young people ❤

I never get tired of this song! Their greatest banger. Brian was the best replacement ever but Bon had such charisma and attitude dripping in his voice. Great reaction.
"Ride On" is one of their serious songs. It's sad but totally relatable. IMHO
Bon was the best frontman ever!

Such a fun song! Every AC/DC song seems to sound similar, but they're all entertaining, so that's fine!
Squeeler, problem child, high voltage, anything pre 1980 its all gold.
Yeah Bon really growls on the studio version
This is the version of ACDC i grew up with . They were electric live .
