And let her react to some of the songs you really didn't get. All the songs where the comments were yelling at you that you missed the point, see if she picks up on them immediately. LOL. If she does, well, I guess you'll know why your perspective was wrong.
I had read a newspaper article a long time ago by a reporter on an airplane, describing how an interesting man sat down next to him. He said his name was Mike. They chatted about business, current events, life in general. I don't remember when during this time that it him him this interesting and affable guy was indeed Meat Loaf, but he left a wonderful impression on him
She’s absolutely a singer, and an actress. This is a masterpiece. As someone in my early 20s when the song came out, I can tell you that even though it was the 70s, and there had been all that free love and sex stuff going on in the culture, most Americans were still very oriented toward marriage, and it was still considered a teenaged girl’s responsibility to resist until marriage, or at least engagement. Plenty of us messed around, but it was considered by most people to be something serious if you “went all the way” if you were “barely 17” or younger.
@@Deathbird_Mitch Funny, considering he was in the stage play for how long? And there are countless interviews of him praising the part for really jumpstarting his career.
I saw Meat Loaf at a stadium concert in Toronto. It started raining hard, but big Marvin Lee stood right at the front of the stage, and got soaked with everyone else! Terrific performance that blew away the headliner, ELO.❤R.I.P
"Stadium". Yeah, John Lennon showed up at that stadium as well. Varsity Stadium up at Bloor west of Avenue Road. It's damned cold in there and it was a freezer with the Yokester and John.

I love Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad, I’d love to see her reaction to that song. Love to see her reaction to the music video for I would Do Anything For Love and see her take on the lyrics
Best part of that song is "Now I'm praying for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive, cause if I gotta spend another minute with you, I don't think that I would really survive. I'll never break my promise or forget my vow, but God only knows what I could do right now." Too funny!
@scloftin8861 a number of reactors also seem to think it means he never really meant his promise but he's actually living out his vow despite wishing it could end. There's also the question of whether the resentment being expressed in the moment is an ongoing thing or just words fired out in the heat of an argument.
In this day and age where divorce has become so commonplace, I have always loved the way the song ended. Despite whatever struggles they continue to go through, he made her a promise, and he's refusing to abandon the relationship. And yes, vice versa.
The version he did on VH1 Storytellers is great too, and the way they end it is hilarious where he says "I have just 3 words for you" and the girl whispers "I love you?" and he shouts "Go #uck Yourself!". It leaves the impression that he envisioned the horrible future and backed out from doing the deed in the car and saved them both from their devastating future together.
I agree with everything in this comment . It’s one of the best songs on the album . I also feel the same way about abbas. The winner takes it all . They have a flavor that tastes like harsh truth .
Your wife is adorable how she blushes when you tell personal . Lol It's sweet seeing you both working together and laughing. For sure bring her back on the channel. God Bless your family. ❤
Mrs Pegasus, I am so glad you saw the theatrical production and realized he was acting. Lol Meatloaf was an actor as well as a musician. Most of his videos showcase both sides to his artistry. Hope to see you on more videos!✌️&❤
Hey congrats on 10 years, and two kids! So nice to see you both enjoying this great song! Keep the reactions coming BP and would love to see more of Mrs. (Or Ms.) BP. Peace.
You gotta love the 70s. I was in high school when this came out. It was such a fine time. Now at 63 I still get chills when I see videos like this. Thanks so much for a great video on a Saturday morning. And its actually an American tradition to do it to some degree by the dashboard lights. I remember my dad stick his head out the house window late at night to check to see who was in the car at the front of the house with the windows steamed up. Not great timing.
This was my grandmothers favorite song. Its so hilarious looking back. It has such a special place in my heart. Congrats on 10 years. Thats a legot achievement
In the summer of 1978 I saw Meatloaf touring this album in a small venue (about 3500 people) and it was one of the greatest concerts I ever attended!! Thanks for the reaction!
It is fun sharing videos you like with others, right? I do like you bringing wifey in. She is good in this format. It is so much fun when you know what is coming and can see their reaction to it.
Ellen Foley sang with him on the album. She had a prior commitment to a show on Broadway so she couldn't tour with him. Carla Devito is the singer in the video. She went on tour with him for a couple of years. She's lip syncing to Ellen's voice. Their voices are so similar that it works. Meatloaf had several duet partners over the yrs. Patricia Russo is considered his best duet partner
Russo featured as a duet vocalist on a lot of Meatloaf albums yes, but I would suggest that the best duet partner he had was Cher in "Dead Ringer for Love" 😉
@chrishansen4691 Cher was a one off on one song. Meatloaf toured with several talented girls. Patti was his longest duet partner of almost 15 yrs. Out of all of them she was the best. Shaun Murphy his first one was good. Karla was probably the second best. Kati Mac was only a couple of yrs. The Goff sisters did a good job for the 80s with the big hair and rocker chick vibe. Patti gave a more rounded show and complimented him better on stage. You could also say since they toured together so long that they instinctively knew what to do. Their performances were legendary. Aspen Miller wasn't too bad the one yr Patti and Meat had their first falling out. After the final falling out Stacy Miller and Cian Coey did the best they could but by then he was in bad shape and could barely perform. Once of the best reactions I have seen. You guys remind me of how my late wife and I used to be. Also as a fellow artist, you must appreciate the difficulty in singing two completely different vocal lines at the same time is.
Writing from Australia, I saw Meat in concert around 2001. Sitting in the cheap seats to the right of the stage there was an oxygen bottle partially hidden from view, however I could see it. From time to time Marvin would take a shot.
She was one of TWO singers. The original studio version has Ellen Foley doing the female part, but she declined to tour so Karla DeVito did the live version. This video is DeVito lip-syncing Ellen Foley's original vocals.
The woman in this did sing this live with him on tour, but in this video, they are both lip synching to the studio album version by Meatloaf and Ellen Foley. Foley wasn't available for the tour, so Karla DeVito was used for this video and the touring show. I don't know if there are any recordings of their live shows, but I have seen comments on other reactions to it that she sounded fairly similar to the album.
