      I really appreciate that you are doing all of this and still going to art school. I was making art and going to school and working full time and it was a nightmare. I like cutting yupo paper for some stencils, but I have a stencil cutter too for long term ones

    10:57 A good tip would be to spray each corner with a little bit of paint with the first stencil. Then you can easily line up the other stencils on the corners of the paper ;) (If the paper is the same size and the design in the same spot on all of them) And I think doing the background color first would save you time from having to cover the thing in the end with tape and cutting it out... Is there a reason you do the background last?

      Love HS art teachers. Best material to use, what ever is handy. Artists spend WAY to much on supplies and equipment. The worst things is that people will think they can not do something because they don't have _______. Ovecome the expectation of spending money for art.

    Holy cow dude. Your video content is awesome! I love that you have a passion for video editing just as much as you do for art. I love that you view editing as a piece of art within itself! You’ve definitely got a new subscriber. I’ve always been a more realistic designer/ illustrator with graphite and charcoal being my preferred medium; But you’ve inspired me to tap into my own more raw emotional style of artistry. Keep the content coming! You’re going to be huge! I have no doubts you’ll be able to make a living at this. Also, since I watched this video you went from 31k subs to 32k subs! Like what!

    Very impressed. Have you ever seen anyone cut a stencil using that card stock on a vinyl cut plotter?

  • @gadzee506
    @gadzee506 5 років тому +1

    you can use spray adhesive on the back of the stencil aswell to stick it down just make sure to let it dry a bit first. Use plastic fades is curl up one edge of a cut so when ya spray the edge isn't crisp but faded. You can also put like blutac under the edge to do the same kind of effect ya just gotta be extra careful ya might want to spray on a 45 so the aint goes a bit under the edge ya wanna do the fade. If ya have a issue with the stencil having limited points of connection and it hangs and is a bit weak, you can use fishing line and bridge it so its more rigid. Just use tape or hot glue to stick down the fishingline of either side of the stencil ya trying to bridge . it will barely show up on the spray if at all. I hope these little tips help :) keep up the awesome work Slew

    Thanks brother Slew this was exactly what I was going to do with one of my main characters after I have been watching your channel for a few months now as you stencil projects are amazing.
    I’m a self taught artist since childhood and stopped in junior high as I was a drummer as well and music was my life so I started a metal band .
    Now 30 plus years later during COVID this summer my parents pushed me into doing art again and now art is my passion I can’t stop. I would like to do art for the rest of my life as I zone out into my art and listen to my amazing music .
    Peace out ,

    Suggestion - protect the joints in your fingers - I've hand cut lots of stencils (with an Exactos for airbrush projects), over the years, and my hand has paid the price with sore joints. I tape them now for support. btw...what a wonderful skill and almost lost art that you're demonstrating - I'm a fan!

    Man this was so wicked. That Paper sounds like a pretty high gsm, like 2-3 hundred, so I'll try my project out somewhere in that ballpark. Nice to know there's no particular Montana can range you use (gold/black, etc), as I also have a few in my crate, so will crack on with those. Thanks for doing this, it was really helpful. Looking forward to seeing all the dope stuff coming next!
