I own a 2018 Stinger GT1 AWD and I’m at 32k miles. At a little over a year old, I’ve driven it a lot. Thus far I have not experienced 90% of what he has listed as issues. My brakes don’t have any shaking, there are zero oil or fluid leaks anywhere, and zero rattles. Only rattle issue was in the rear deck lid and that’s been fixed. Just wanted to give feedback as a StingerGT owner, thanks.
I placed soft stickers on the tips of the rubber buffers that make contact when you close the hatch. The sound is coming from them tapping against eachother when you hit a bump. Kia didn’t design them correctly to have them snug when you close the hatch, so the fuzzy stickers on the ends fills in the gap and there is no more noise
Isaac Myers I have the GT2 with 99,000 miles in just 2 years. I have had zero issues with this car. The rattle issue was never noticed by me, but KIA contacted me and proactively did a repair during my routine oil change. I have had no leaks and my car feels brand new every single day. Stingers rule
God almighty!!! GET ON WITH IT!!! He keeps telling us all what he is going to tell us but just draaaaaaaaags it out! Whole vid could’ve been done in 5-8 mins!!!!
Couldn't agree more. I stopped watching quite early on, I wasn't able to stand it any longer. What a drawn out speaking, and boring, attempt at making a (long lasting) video. Oh. !! - And by the way, recalls AREN'T problems with a car, as they're rectified automatically by the dealer at no cost whatsoever.
@@airgunningyup I got her up to 135,000, then a guy t-boned her at 50mph! I walked away, and my lovely Stinger was completely totaled. Then I bought a new one, but in ceramic grey. I’ve got 30,000 on my new one in about 9 months.
I’ve read ALL the comments just to be sure, as the author’s approach to the video was correct and interesting but the presented “facts” always have to be double checked. As a result, I saw only one or two people who confirmed most the mentioned issues being a Stinger owner; a few people who had “an Optima or something else 5-10 years ago with some issues, and that was the reason they thought Stinger and all Korean cars are the same crap”; and soooo many other people who are actually Stinger owners who claim to have no issues with their cars. So my sanity tells me that I cannot trust everything been said in this video. I suspect, the “facts” presented in the video are based mainly on forums where people naturally discuss only problems. If I have no issues with a car why would I go to some forum and post that I have no issues with my car so that everybody knew. Nonsense! Only those few with bad luck or driving habits go there and share their problems creating an IMPRESSION that all the cars of a particular model have these issues, OR that all the cars of a particular brand itself are crap and unreliable. Tuners and car enthusiast do not discuss such things either. And the last thing - there were some funny comments saying that “there is a reason why they are cheap”, from people with BMW logos in their avatars or something, which looked more like an upset expression of their jealousy rather than actual experience. Anyway, thank you for the video, I will definitely skip the 2018 ones and will definitely go for any other model year Stinger. Peace :)
Good points and to add to that. If you break an engine in as per specified it makes a difference. I have a friend who does everything by the book and has great luck with all his vehicles. He even got higher speed on his performance snow mobile. So it does make a difference. If you are doing the 1/4 mile before break in period, you may have made a lemon.
I confirm at least 2 issues he mentioned in the video. The brake pads, the jerky shifting, and there's another common issue for all model years is the fuel pump as well as the squeaking turbo wastegate. Those issues I was able to cofirm with at least 10+ other stinger owners across the entire model years of the Stinger. My very own one is a 2021 model AWD GT. Although those are common issues, it doesn't mean most of the owners will experience the same issues, I know that. Otherwise itd be recalled already. Yours didn't have issues but it doesn't mean others don't. And btw, Kia is still a Kia. The Stinger is definitely cheaper than those cars with the same power level, there's no need for jealousy here. Each to its own, kinda unfortunate but it's true, I get that. But honestly I cringe when I see people thinks their stinger is a very expensive and powerful car. Bruh, it's just a 350HP AWD Korean budget friendly performance sedan. Buy it, drive it, and keep it quiet cuz it really ain't some fancy nancy car that makes you look successful
I have a ghost grey gt2 awd with interior fully loaded. I have had it for 8 months, 6k miles and no problems. I know a few people with Stingers, and they haven't had any problems either. With all due respect you're knit picking the car, it's an amazing vehicle.
I have a 2022 stinger only 6300 miles on it. When I first purchased the I didn't notice Chipped paint on trunk, it was very small . It had to be repainted, took two weeks. 2 months later I felt a slight vibration in the beginning but nothing was found wrong. 1st oil change, I ask to make sure they check tires , brakes, & rotors. I was told that's their normal routine anyway . Upon receiving my car I asked again. I was told it was checked. Upon driving on the highway, when coming to a stop , I notice the vibration once again. So I called and told them what was happening. I told them , I couldn't make it back before they closed. They closed at 6pm and it was 4:45 pm. I was traveling , they told me to bring it back Monday morning . I was curious so when I got to my destination, I took my car to a Kia Dealership and they told they didn't have anyone to look at it because they only had one technician before closing at 6:00. So now I will take it back to original Kia Dealership this morning. Lest than 7,000 miles on the vehicle and I pray whatever is wrong they cover it. I do not want another problem. SMH not saying all stingers will have this problem but this is a new 2022 stinger !
I totally disagree with this review!!! I have a 2018 GT2 and I haven't had any issues with it. Exception, my tires are worn badly--but that's on me, this car is fun to drive.
had a 2018 had recalls but upgraded to 2022 some things are missing no port for using i pod which was good but got wireless charging and had heated steering on 18 but now have 360 camera which is way more important, so just have to hope for none of these issues!!!
I have a 2018 GT, WAITING ON MY 2022!!!, anyway I had the first recall he described for 5 minutes straight. I only have 23,778 miles and no other issues. Love this car!!
This is the second stinger GT I have. No issues at all with the exception of the rattle on the windshield when hot weather in the 2018 model. 18k miles no problems at all. Great car.
But u had a problem? As I said, all cars have problem. Glad to hear nothing major. Plus we can't use just your experience, i had a bmw 328i that was amazing, my other 3 friends not so much lol
This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. This car was designed by someone who designed BMWs. I have a 2018 that's driven on NYC roads and I have no suspension problems. The car feels great and quiet on the road. This car is a pleasure to drive.
We had a 2018 Stinger GT and we had no problem with it but needed larger trunk room and we stepped up to a K900, and before anyone gets stuck on stupid the K900 has no problem handing my wife's wheel chair. The Stinger's trunk is not as deep and I didn't want to remove the hatchback cover so people can see what is in the trunk. With the Stinger you can fold down the seats but the K900 you have more room everywhere in the car without having to fold the seats down. The Stinger is really a nice car. The only recall I had was rubber garments on the hatchback or something like that and the wire harness. The car rides nice and is fun to drive. I had no vibration issue and there was no hard shifting in our Stinger when driving the car. I would drive that car more on the hard side. This guy I have a feeling does not like KIA. I would not pay attention to this guy and cannot watch the entire video. One thing I will agree with him on is every car manufacture does put on some bad cars but the Stinger I don't think is one of them for the most part. I'm still part of a Stinger forum and have not heard anyone complain about vibration. I read up on the forum before my wife and I got ours. Truthfully there is not a manufacture that has not put out some bad products in some models. The Stinger just is not one of them since they got the wire harness taken care of. Before you buy any car read up on some forums and go test drive that car before you buy it. At least on the forums most are real people who do own them.
This car is a POS.... 4,000 lb car? 365 hp for 50k? why the fuck would you buy a korean car for 50k, that is more underpowered and heavier than others in same price range that also have a WAY better trackrecord on reliability, performance, etc. Why would you not just get a BMW.... why would i not just get a 370z which has the same power, naturally aspirated, and is 800 lbs ligher and the Z is a heavy car and have 20k to either pocket, mod, or have to fix the car etc. the stinger is a fucking boat made for mid life crisis old men who know nothing about cars. People who walk into dealerships knowing nothing, test drive a car and buy it without even comparing anything or knowing anything about the competition. This car literally weighs almost 2x more than my current vehicle lmfao. And its power to weight ratio is pathetic, the suspension is meh at best, its korean, no aftermarket support. Only a true idiot or a person who just drives from A to B (most women) will enjoy this car. This is the worst vehicle for 50k lmfao. maybe at 30k this would be okay, but for 50k.... actually laughable. Why in the fuck would you not get an M2 for like 7k more which is nothing when your paying it off in like 5 years. The great things about these cars it it shows who the idiots are on the road so they can be avoided.
@@RoddNTune619 Daily Drive a Toyota 86 that I put only about 5k of mods into and it looks unique on the road... great gas mileage, i can rev it out daily and hoon and its reliable. I have owned german cars though such as VW, audi and BMW. You are saying german cars are overpriced but this kia is overpriced... its pretty trash when you look at the specs for the price. That is the most competitive Price bracket for sports cars and luxury vehicles etc. care to explain why someone should purchase a 50k+ kia over their competitors? I'll wait.
@@ImperviouslyGaming your comparing coupes to a 4 door sedan, and you can get a Stinger GT in the low 40's and I've even seen them for the high 30's. Maintaining a Stinger will cost alot less than a German car too. Not everyone can spend the money to buy and maintain German cars.
I love the Stinger, every car has it's problems, but I can tell you I had KIA's for 20 years, the reliability is great, I had a Sedona, Forte , and a Borrego, still have the Borrego with 375,000 Km, one wheel bearing in 10 years, better than my neighbor with his 2011 Highlander, that have had loads of problems.
Come on lol cant compare kia to toyota reliability. I love the stinger but my brother has one and had to get infotainment center replaced also the speakers stoped working on passent side, the moon roof was replaced and the engines already ticking . Doesnt mean i dont love the car i do but this was within 1.5 years of owning it .
@@solace4114 I agree with you. The OP is probably a Kia employee or bot bro. They keep saying things differently from the facts. No car company can touch Toyota’s reliability. The quality control on their parts/builds are insanely strict.
1 -In among the other industries Hyundai is in, they're also a steel company. They save a lot of money by making their own steel, rather than purchasing it. Most people don't seem to realize that. 2 - Brake rotors do not warp. The vibration you feel is from people who get the brakes good and hot, then stop the car and keep their foot on the brake pedal. Material transfers from the brake pad to the rotor when they are that hot, creating the high spots. 3 - The one thing you are correct on, is every brand has had or continues to have issues. Recalls? When I was working in Mercedes service, the S-Class was coming off of the carrier being delivered with recalls already in place for things like blower motor resistors and heated washer nozzles catching fire. Over the thirty years I was in the auto repair industry, I have worked for Volkswagen, Audi, Land Rover, and Mercedes. I couldn't even begin to remember how many recalls I dealt with LOL. How many "rattle" issues. How many control arm bushing /ball joint failures well within the 4 year 50,000 mile warranty. So they get a pass because of the emblem on their grille. Hyundai and Kia have come a long way from what they were 30 years ago. Are they perfect? Absolutely not. But no vehicle out there is.
@@SamCarLegion It's not simply my opinion. 40 years of working on cars and 30 of them professionally. From Alcon themselves... alconkits.com/support/brake-pad-info/110-the-real-truth-about-warped-brake-rotors
If you did some research, you will find that this common term (warped rotors) used by consumers and not so knowledgeable technicians, is false. The issue is caused by the brake pads leaving deposits on areas of the rotors after hard braking, without a proper bedding process. These deposits cause the rotors to become out of balance and vibrate, you can read more at the link provided. As an owner of 2 stingers, so far, the 2018 and now a 2019, both had this issue. I changed the pads on the 2019 to better compound and did the bedding process, my car no longer has that vibration on braking issue. Enthusiast Stinger drivers have replaced their brake pads, as the pads provided by KIA ,while fine for most drivers (who never have the vibration issue), don’t do well with repeated braking from high speeds track driving or aggressive street driving. I’ve owned Audi and BMW vehicles and those things also have their issue however, as mentioned, they can be pricey to repair when an issue occur. When I traded my 535 M Sport for a KIA Optima, folks thought I was crazy until they saw the repair estimate bills I had from an engine issue that was covered under warranty. The breakdown was the dealer’s way of nudging me to get a $5000 warranty that would only last 2 years (based on the miles I drove). I’ve had 3 Optima Hybrids and each has gotten better with each refresh or replacement. The Stinger, being new had its kinks on some of the 2018s and possibly the 2019s, my 2018 for sure had an issue with air getting in from the drivers door, when they said was not aligned properly. While the first ‘fix’ reduced the noise, it didn’t eliminate it. The ECS tune in the 2018 caused some weird rear end hop in corner, if you hit a bump mid corner. The 2019 doesn’t have it, well you’ll have to be driving at a much higher speed to get it to occur, but it still performs better than the 2018. Adding an aftermarket rear sway bar fixed that for owners of the 2018. For my 2019, I ordered a Mando ECS box that allows one to tune the electronic suspension, that has tightened up the car with the 2 built in settings. It has an additional 4 custom setting that an owner can tweak to their preference. For KIA first foray into this level of vehicle they did a pretty good job, for the price. In the long run, KIA will resolve issues reported with the vehicle to make it better. They make running changes during a model year to resolve issues and their mid-cycle refresh typically improves on the initial design. The Stinger will be less expensive to maintain over the long run than the vehicles it competes with. For an entirely new vehicle to the market, the list of issues are minor, that says a lot about how well this vehicle is designed.
Until I dies on the side of the turnpike during a snowstorm. Which is exactly what happened to my wife's Kia. She was stuck in 0° weather with a 2 year old and no heat, and the road service said it would be three hours. A warrantee is worthless if you die on the side of the road because your garbage Korean car decided to fry the entire electrical system. The dealership has to replace the entire wiring harness and computer. We sold that POS immediately, with 11000miles on it. We bought a Jetta and never looked back. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for.
I own a 2019 GT RWD USDM. Common issue was pulsing/vibrating front brakes caused by warped front brake discs. I noticed it around 7k miles. I’ve never raced nor hard braked it. KIA replaced them for free including new brake pads but they legally called the replacement “goodwill” and not a recall. I purchased for $35k. No options except for cargo mat. I did get bumper to bumper coverage to 100k or 10yr for additional cost for peace of mind.
I know this is 2 years late. But when you finish slowing down braking. Do you relax your feet a tad to remove some pressure from the brake pads? Because alot of people do that and also cause warping.
I have driven the GTS 3.4 for 2 years and 20k miles in the UK without any of the problems mentioned. It’s fantastic! I always drove Jaguars/ Range Rovers which were more expensive, broke down on me and I had problems with the maker,s warranty!
Brakes on mine shake, and oil pressure sensor went out. It’s covered under warranty and they’re fixing it now. BUTTTTTT…..they said my part is on back order and won’t be in for get this…. 3 to 6 MONTHS…. They’re providing me with a rental though so I can’t complain.
One thing to get straight is that the Stinger is not intended to be a cash cow for Kia. This model serves the purpose of strengthening the brand image and showing people that it can build legitimate fun cars, while keeping the price down to be somewhat competitive. Therefore the point about "how they manage to make money" is not really the point here. They don't expect to make a huge profit off this model. However, the concerns that certain owners have could be real issues, especially that several of them have been recalled. Some people commenting are questioning the fundamental quality of Korean cars, and Im not sure why. I think most would agree that the overall quality has improved over the years. Recalls happen quite often as Sam has mentioned, and citing isolated incidents is just worthless. BMWs have been igniting for no reason in Korea and is currently involved in a class action lawsuit here, but I wouldn't question BMW's inherent quality because of this issue. Same goes for VW and their dieselgate problem.
SuperDantheman95 People are questioning the quality of Korean cars because this isn’t the only vehicle from them that are igniting i to flames due to poor engineering and build quality. Do you live under a rock at the bottom of the sea? Hyundai ALSO is under a class action lawsuit behind this. There was a man just hospitalized almost burnt alive driving a brand new KIA Soul that also caught fire. There was a woman in Georgia last year whose Hyundai Tucson went up into flames unwarranted as she drove down the street. Her Tucson had less than 500 miles on it. Hyundai didn’t even show up for court when summoned to answer for the lawsuit. *This* is the reason people are questioning this company’s integrity and quality. It’s because it isn’t just a few model years of just the Stinger! 🤦🏽♂️
@@mybro727 Wow okay Im accused of living under a rock because I don't agree with your criticism. As for isolated incidents and hearsay, refer to my original comment; I never said the quality of Korean cars is flawless.

The fact that one considers the Stinger as a credible rival to an S5, 440i or C43 says it all. Equally optioned, those cars will cost over USD 20,000 more to buy and costs over 5 years...your guess is as good as mine.
I know its not a Stinger, but my 2014 Cadenza had no issues, and still drives wonderfully. It has a 3.3 litre v6(no turbos). Its a fully loaded car with all the same features as the Stinger, as well as other stuff like headlights that adjust for height and turn with the steering wheel. This turkey is just a brand snob.
I have a 2020 stinger GT. only problem so far was the drivers side mirror wouldn’t fold in when car was locked. Took it to Kia and they replaced it for free. Other than that, it’s a beautiful beast. I’ve also let my gear-head friends dive it and they love it. Some vibrations with the steering wheel when braking…..love your videos! Excellent analysis!

I had a new 2018 Kia and all they did was deny the warranty all the time. The paint was flaking off in the strangest places (trunk lid) and Kia said it was not a defect but an 'effect' of how I drive. The car pulled to the left and they said it was 'road crown'. The rear windshield rattled in cold weather and they said it was due to the 'cold weather'. The transmission weeped a bit of oil and they said it was not bad enough to fix yet and said to 'keep an eye on it'. The leather seats began to sag and loose color and they said it was normal wear and tear (at just 500 miles?) I traded it in for a Mini Cooper. Not a single issue.
@@Handsomebrzyhd Yep - JCW Mini Cooper. Excellent build quality, fast as hell and handles like it's on rails. I guess you don't know much about cars, because if you did you would have known this already.
I got a 2021 so hopefully all the issues have been worked out by now. One note, the hatchback was rattling over bumps, they said that it’s a known issue, so I made them come to my house and pick it up and they fixed it in 5 hrs. Now it’s perfect, but I threw a $1300 sub and amp setup in it and it rattles again 😂
Try to get all the small issues fixed within first few years of your ownership like rattles etc (all cars rattle problem is some manufacturers dont give a shit about rattles) and then you are covered for 10 years for powertrain! Cant beat that!!
I have just over 14,000 km on my Stinger and I believe it is travelling over the absolute poorest roads in all of Canada. I live in New Brunswick which has to be the pot hole capital of the planet. I have yet to experience any issues with my Stinger. As a former BMW 328 coupe owner, I too probably have higher expectations than the average driver. When I was looking at replacing my 2007 BMW (188,000km) because the cost of fixing it was just getting ridiculous, the Stinger was my best choice given the price/performance/features and the harsh environment I live in. Is it a BMW, Audi or Mercedes? No of course not ... but the price tag is also $20-25k less. I bought my BMW second hand and it had rattles at 137,000 km. Over the three years I had it I replaced the battery, rotors and pads twice, battery cable to the starter, water pump (which failed after I traded it with less that 10,000 km of driving time), wheel bearings all the way around and front suspension parts ... so guess what .... even German cars have moving parts that wear out. My BMW was the best car I have ever driven in our winter conditions and on a scale of 1 to 10 where the BMW was setting the bar at 10, my Stinger is some where between a 7 and 8. Having said that I don't have the same winter tires on the Stinger that I had on the BMW and I believe the fact that the BMW was a six speed manual I had better control. All in all I think it is a great car .... certainly not a race track car. Those of you having brake issues during track days ... just so you know ... most people that take their cars to the track have brake issues. Time will tell though as they say, I'm glad it has a 10 year 200,000 km warranty.
Scott Mullin Yeah man, even Shelby GT350’s, S2000, and many other track focused street cars still come with brake pads and non directional vented rotors, and lower boiling point fluids that are meant mainly for street and light track duty. My GF has put about 25,000 miles with no issues. But only time will tell if all of the gadgets have the same problems as the “superior” German cars.

My Stinger GT has gone thru 65k KM, and nearly 6 years of running. Other than the odd rubbing noises from the body flexing over speed bumps at an angle, the car feels perfectly fine, and not a single fault. The only times that I feel that the car is moving too much, is because winter has kicked in and my tires are under inflated.

But there is a bit vibration of my front brake occasionally, and other small issues: my transmission shift gear down and gives the car a backward drag feel or a little sudden break feel while I slow down my car from a normal city speed to around 10+ - miles/hr. It does not always happen even thought I asked the dealership to test drive and try to replicate the problem. Another interior issue is I found my Napa leather driver seat wear off at a corner place where my right leg inner knee have contract more often
hard shifts are better for the trans and it shifts faster. smooth shifts are due to clutch slip which isnt good but with new technology doesnt really effect it now

Ive got a Stinger GT Limited 2020, Zero issues with the car. Wait I do have one now I think about it! When I put my foot down and accelerate I get to the speed limit of the roads in Southern Ontario so fecking fast I have to slow down!
Done 14400 miles 90%at 280 kilometres an hour and not one problem. Love the car just don't understand why people hate it so much... It beats audi bmw and Mercedes in every way... And costs way less... Weldone kia
I own a 2018 GT and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I bought it used with 30,000 miles and have since put another 25,000 miles. I drive the car hard and fast and have experienced ZERO problems. It drives like a dream and every day is like the first day! I don’t like being negative but I think this guy had his mind made up before he ever drove the car. Not sure where these problems are coming from. Never heard anything but pure bliss from every other Stinger owner I’ve ever talked to.
KIA Toyota--honda make their money in sales.German and American car companies make them in the service dept. One of my roomates was a high end executive with a car company--and he got all the trade secrets.I just trades in a 10 year old crosstour type r for my stinger and except for oil changes--tires--the car got its last oil change before I traded it in and everything was green after the inspection--10 year old car and it was in the same shape as the day I got it.I left American car companies years ago because everytime I got an oil changed after the 2nd year--they would always find hundreds of dollars worth of shit wrong--got tired of it.I actually like American V8 cars better--but because of knowing this fact--and the way in which I was treated--which went along with what he said--I chose to get this KIA.The company would fold if the cars were unreliable and offering a 10--100k warranty.I buy my cars outright and use the dealer for any maintenence--so not only does it stay in great shape--but they can not mess with the warranty.I also drive high end people around--and have taken many AMG and M cars to get a simple oil change--on 100k plus cars that are less then 5 years old and need 700 dollar plus worth of work done everytime you take them in--with the threat of losing the warranty--that obviously does not cover crap.I also scoured the net for serious engine and electronic problems and found none--JD power also tied the stinger with the 3.3 TT equal to a honda pilot in reliability--that pretty much sold me.Plus the AWD system in my 2020 is fantastic and if needed can rip the car off the line and hit 60 in the mid 4s--not much under 40k can do that.
I had a Santa Fe for awhile, i bought it with 20k miles on now it has 80k miles. It was relaible for awhile, but now it feels like doors and and body panels will fall apart. Well any day now...
I am now driving my third KIA and have had no problems. I really question his ability and qualifications to test car's . I would suggest that if he has a day job, it would be best if he stay's with it. I would like to know what his qualifications are. (If any)
I have a 2019 Stinger V4 2.9 I think the computer may have gone up or the engine may have gone. How much does the engine cost if I have to pay also how much for the computer???
Keep in mind how was that 2020 stinger with 12k kM driven . Was it driven by all you tubers and test driven and beat on by reckless drivers in my test drives. I have a 2017 Kia Optima SXL with 25,500 miles on it feels like it has been driven for 80k miles . And the main reason for that is that I use it for food delivery. From day one so that will put a lot of wear on a car. But Kia dealer has been great so far they stick by their 5 year bumper to bumper warranty. They have replaced a bunch of parts on my car . So it all depends on how you baby or drive your car .
I have an '18 GT Limited RWD. No problems at all. I also have a 10 year/10k miles comprehensive bumper to bumper warranty so I have no concerns if it needs warranty work for a long time.
I have an Stinget GT AWD, 6 months old, 0 problems, but i don't like the sound of engine when are cold and it feels heavy (in the steering, transmits nothing).
TheWorldisFlat by Porsche i have owned an Optima and now a Stinger as well as other car brands. Kias have changed they are not rubbish. The only rubbish is the comments I get from people who dont own one and have a negative Kia perception. You are entitled to your opinion but it would be good if it was based on fact rather than what you have heard or experienced in the past. The car has won awards by the way. I hear Porsches have faults too but you dont see me saying they a crap cars. Take a Stinger for a test drive and if you dont smile when you drive it I would be very surprised.
AV8R767 the amount of time this guy had to correct him self during the vid is embarrassing! For a first of it’s kind, it’s way better than a lot of cars out there. Like, I do get that there are a few things to be pointed out but this entire video is based on negativity! And I get that because negativity sells. You’d have to go to the performance division of most if not all German line ups to compete against the stinger. And it was not built to compete in luxury, if you want that go for the K900 or the sister company Genesis (Hyundai) is in the luxury category and they do have a better interior than A lot out there. @stungbystinger group needs to see this! Hahahah dam joke!
He looks like he was drinking all night, got up without showering, didn't comb his hair nor did he brushed his teeth, just went straight to film this video lol 😆
My brothers sun roof had to be replaced and surround sound and engine had a loud ticking sound all within 2 years of ownership. Nice car but im not sure its japanese reliability and quality yet
Seems that the MAJORITY of Stinger have no issues at all. He probably got a one in a million lemon, instead of the other way around. And with the awesome KIA warranty there shouldn't be any real issue.
Brake compound was too soft (slated for American markets) to reduce NVH. The brakes vibrating is a BIG deal. Changing to different pads and rotors didn’t make it disappear 100%
Hello. Maybe this guy works for Audi. This my second Stinger wit only one rattle on the B pillar that I already fixed. I have leased 24 cars in 10 years. This is my best car ever. Also keep in mind that the GT2 has better suspension. I had Audis in the past and with those cars you will be take then often to the dealer for problems. My friend, German cars are not reliable. After one year my Audi's A4 sunroof was opening and closing by itself and changed break pads for $ 500. Right now Kia and Hyundai are leading sales in US with the Telluride and now with the new sorento. Keep an eye on the G70 and the new GV70 and Gv80 from Genesis. Same engineering from Kia Hyundai Group.
I have a 2022 stinger only 6300 miles on it. When I first purchased it, I didn't notice Chipped paint on trunk, it was very small .
I had the break problem occur a week after purchasing it certified used. Initially the dealer wanted me to pay $1k since it’s not covered under warranty. I argued that since the car is certified and I purchased it from the a week prior it should be covered since they didn’t do their due diligence of inspecting the breaks. Came out with free rotors and had after market pads installed. It’s been over 10k miles with no problems.
I have had my Stinger GT for 9 months. Rear tires have to be replaced quickly. Stock brake pads are crap, causing the shaking when braking. Lot of road noise than I would expect for the price. Otherwise I love the car, it's a blast to drive and it's fast.
It's the brake pads, the material they are made of dont handle high temps. They make a euro spec pad that kia puts on the european models. But kia wont put the pads under warranty on a north american car, they want $700 just for the pads. It's cheaper to buy aftermarket pads and have the rotors turned , the issue goes away completely.
With the 7 year warranty i see no problem with most of the issues, bring the car to your local KIA dealer and let him fix it. If the car would be crap KIA wouldnt grant you a 7 year warranty.
@@SamCarLegion This would be one of the worst business strategies in history. Its possible but it would be realy stupid and undermine all efforts to lose the reputation of making bad cars.
@@SamCarLegion I would say it only saves them in the short run. If the cars brake down a lot in the 7 years people will notice that the cars have a lot of problems and if they continue breaking down after the warranty expires no one would want to buy these cars ever again or for the first time. Thats why iam think the 7 years are not some kind of cover up or scam.
I own a 2019 GT1. I love the car. It has over 12k miles and no issues. The best way to know the experience from the current car owners is to look up on JD Power research. What I know is that the Stinger dependability and reliability is 79 out of 100 which rate "great ".
I only watched 6 minutes. I have two of them. Great cars the best car I have ever driven. I have an 18 GT2 and a 19 GT1. The 2018 had a recall for the wiring harness which basically involves them inspecting it. Did it when I got an oil change.
Thank you fo this review. I own a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid with 123k miles. Besides normal maintenance, there hasn't been any issues. I would imagine quality has improved and looking forward to testing out the Stinger and will take your concerns into consideration.
I think I've had that rear deck lid issue.. how was it fixed?
How did u fix it
I placed soft stickers on the tips of the rubber buffers that make contact when you close the hatch.
Isaac Myers thank you. I’m thinking of buying one.
Have over 70,000 miles on GT2 AWD and it is amazing with ZERO problems other than leaving virtually everything in the dust.
That's amazing glad to hear that
Dang! Mine only 5k miles. Have it for a year but I drive model 3 on daily basis lol.
Everything in the dust lol. I'm in a v3 you sure as shit ain't dusting me.

Peace :)
Well said..
Only thing i had on my 18' stinger with 50k miles was the shaking when braking.

For the price the stinger gt is amazing.
Patrick De Freitas blah blah blah STFU already only idiots would take ur advice 😭😭😂😩 let me guess u drive an overpriced German piece of shit

Brake Rotors warp, so many reports online. But good points in steel history of Hyundai.

As you mentioned, no vehcile is perfect. My point isn't to bash Kia, more so; watch out for these known issues, don't get bad car.
@@SamCarLegion
Agreed. That's why I said you are correct in that fact that any vehicle can be a rattle trap or an unreliable mistake.
Are these not covered by a 100 mile 7 year warranty? In which case none of this matters? Book it into the shop, collect your courtesy and don’t worry!
Exactly. Any problem literally who cares.
You spent so much time talking about what a buyer needs to know before buying. Buddy just get to the point and say it.

Their quality has improved by a lot.
No it's a problem with kia
@@SneekyRafiki kia recall not aftermarket.

I love Cadenzas.... I wish they bring it back along with K900 to Canadian market@@

Lmfao a mini Cooper tho

I got a 2021 so hopefully all the issues have been worked out by now. One note, the hatchback was rattling over bumps, they said that it’s a known issue, so I made them come to my house and pick it up and they fixed it in 5 hrs. Now it’s perfect, but I threw a $1300 sub and amp setup in it and it rattles again 😂
I love this comment! lol
Try to get all the small issues fixed within first few years of your ownership like rattles etc (all cars rattle problem is some manufacturers dont give a shit about rattles) and then you are covered for 10 years for powertrain! Cant beat that!!
Lmao 🤣
How do you get a 10 year 200k km warranty in Canada ?
A local Kia dealer near me was selling a lemon-law used yellow Stinger a few years back. The paint problem explains now why it was lemon-lawed.
Just bought a 2019 GTS. 60,000 miles and it’s by far the tightest feeling highest performance vehicle we’ve ever owned. The car fax don’t show any issues it’s entire life. These cars are well worth the money.
This is a 2019 stinger in this video, not a 2020. The ghost grey with red interior is not regularly available in Canada. It was only available on the 2019 -20th anniversary edition. (20 years of Kia in Canada). Other options like those rims, are the ones offered overseas - except on the 2019 special edition. The interior as well, most have the aluminum door trim by the handle and aluminum console, this has the carbon fibre look. Again, only on the 2019. I know you will say I am wrong, but just go online and try to buy a 2020 in Canada with these options and you can’t. 2019 was the only model.
Kia Canada gave me this car and in the paper it said: 2020 Kia Stinger GT

Conspiracy: what if they gave 7 years because the know it will break down?!
@@SamCarLegion This would be one of the worst business strategies in history. Its possible but it would be realy stupid and undermine all efforts to lose the reputation of making bad cars.
Why would it be stupid? They protect their brand in the long run. Automobile manufacturers have done of lot of stupid things before. Just a thought :)
You would complain less if it was covered. Also, just checked Kia Canada, they only offer 5 years warranty for the Stinger.
I own a 2019 GT1. I love the car. It has over 12k miles and no issues. The best way to know the experience from the current car owners is to look up on JD Power research. What I know is that the Stinger dependability and reliability is 79 out of 100 which rate "great ".
My struts went out and the dealer doesn't want to cover it. Only 29k miles on it
Oh man
I only watched 6 minutes. I have two of them. Great cars the best car I have ever driven. I have an 18 GT2 and a 19 GT1. The 2018 had a recall for the wiring harness which basically involves them inspecting it. Did it when I got an oil change.
This car is the reason I own a Q50
Loge the Infiniti! Solid build.
My girlfriend has a Kia Stinger. I have an Infiniti Q50 3.0 t with downpipes beat her every time we line up
Thank you for the insight on the interior. I would have been so disappointed if I did purchase one
Thank you fo this review. I own a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid with 123k miles. Besides normal maintenance, there hasn't been any issues. I would imagine quality has improved and looking forward to testing out the Stinger and will take your concerns into consideration.
Glad to help.
Nice review. Especially when he talked about quality of car after 10000 miles
