How to NOT LET People's Opinions Affect You

  • Feeling good about ourselves is one of the most important things that we as people can do for ourselves. When we don't feel good about ourselves, we become dependent on others to make us feel good, feel worthy, valued, loved. If we depend on others for the way we feel, we can never truly be ourselves bc we are always trying to please others for their approval. Here are 3 things that will begin your journey to FEEL SO GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF WHERE OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS DON'T AFFECT THE WAY YOU FEEL.
    1. Know you have the power to choose at every moment of your life. You have the power to choose what you think, feel, do.
    2. Let go of old emotions that are stuck in your body. We need to teach our body to be calm and relaxed so our bodies can let go of the old emotions that don't make us feel good.
    3. Stop thinking and telling others about negative events that happened in your past. By doing so, you are re-experiencing the negative emotions.

Once you understand that people simply don't think about you at all, you can get over that feeling pretty easily. There are just a few people that matter, and if you are a good person doing good things, they will think well of you. Think of how many people's opinion really matter to you, and how many that actually know you truly...your wife, family, some friends, maybe some coworkers or boss, and that is about it.

After looking at your videos, I go to the gym less and got myself back into martial arts; I’m a 4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I can tell you Mike like you I was pretty big and lifted regularly everyday for about 10 years, but I felt like a caged animal. The gym stuck me in a system that didn’t give me the ability to move freely. This habit came to my work place and then the rest of my life. I can say this Mike I’m also leaving the military to pursue my martial arts conquest again. These videos have truly liberated me from my chains that were holding me back. Thank you!

Bible has great ideas on how to live free, at peace & with purpose. Some of yr ideas stem from it: be thankful for everything, dont grumble, the tongue can be used to destroy or build up, love God w all yr heart/mind/soul, love yr neighbor as you love yourself, let go-let God, forgive others, love your enemies/do good to them, rejoice always, pray ceassessly, be grateful for all things, enjoy Gods creation, use yr free will to decide-you can choose good, be transformed by renewing yr mind, use yr words to edify others, pull down negative strongholds of yr mind etc. Gods word is full of wisdom. Thanks for this vedeo & for sharing yr knowledge & wisdom. ❤

6:27 Stop the negative stories in the head. Talking about it is reexperiencing it. I think this point resonated with me most of all. The idea of reexperiencing is impactful. I believe reexperiencing story as if it's happening again and again is the same, brain wise, as if it were actually occurring again and again. So it's really not merely a memory as it affects the brain as if the occurrence is real. Actually, sometimes I picture how my brain looks while trying to reprogram it, like forming new neural pathways. Imaging neuroplasticity of brain with its neural pathways makes it easier to focus on new more helpful thoughts.

( learned what the world can be like ) and wisdom is starting to make sense! Take Care Brother and remember "Jesus Christ" has the power to overcome the world and has shown us how we can do it to!

I love yr flow training Mike & other videos like this. What gives me peace & helps me not care about others judgments or views of me is caring more about what God thinks of me (as a follower of God- Jesus); letting go/letting God; staying in calm & his peace & praying believing Hes in control; & mainly following direction of God's spirit in me. Bible teaches to "pull down strongholds of our mind/& to bring thoughts into captivity to obedience of God" It also says "rejoice in the Lord always, I say rejoice, dont be anxious about anything, present yr requests to God with thanksgiving & Gods peace which surpasses understanding will guard yr hearts & minds thru Christ Jesus-finally brethren focus on whatever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good, virtuous, praiseworthy & Gods peace will be with you"
Bible says we can have dominion over our minds. God is also a powerful source of help in trouble. I asked Him for help one day (as an atheist) & he revealed himself & gave me faith. Love Him! Thanks Mike for yr flow vedeos & yr wisdom on emotional health! ❤

I like how you referred to past memories as physical 'residue' that cling to our bodies which need to be removed by shaking them off our muscle memory and onto the floor. It helps with the imagery you created to manifest the act of truly 'letting go'. Thanks Mike. You're spot on with everything you listed and the steps make sense. I will relax, breathe deeply, and decide to give myself permission to "let go" and be positive about being in the present moment as I build a bright and meaningful future ahead. I am also grateful for what I have in my life, so very grateful now come to think of it. The emotional building-blocks are so fundamental to the body's construction, some people use the gym or lift weights like crazy to try to bury problems, or for the wrong reasons or when they're angry, rather people should be at peace with themselves while building up their physiques.

    • @drewlsy

@@MikeChangTraining Absolutely Mike, beautifully said. The flow-training method is revolutionary in this way. You're touching upon something so innovative, so earth- shattering that many people will have to sit down and really think deeper in terms of what you are proposing here. At your current enlightened state, you have evolved your 'normal state' into an infinite source of happiness from which you tap into an over-flowing well-spring of positive energy -- naturally, from within you. I can definitely say that you are bridging humanity closer to a clearer understanding of what it deemed as 'the mind-body connection'.
For the more I put into 'the flow', the more I 'grow'. ;) Thanks again Mike. I will begin to practice your flow-training method and see how I progress my 'normal state' in the coming months. Oh, and condolences to the passing of your father, I extend them to your immediate family as well. You're doing good work. May you continue down this path of daily epiphanies and self-discovery, while also continuing to innovate the concept of 'wellness', and to alturistically share them with us. Your karma bank is full.

This is very true, too many people cling to the past to inform their present feelings and their future feelings. There’s no removal from those moments in most cases because people want everyone to know. So they tell this story and become sad again but it’s a character trait they begin to take on and they don’t know how to live without it. This turns a long ago tale into second nature. So this person experiences more depression because at almost every instance of their life they are now imbuing everything they do with the ideology that this past story controls even the most whimsical of actions. It’s one part their own fault, one part society’s for coddling these individuals, one part their friends for encouraging this constant reminiscent state, and finally the fourth piece belongs to, again, the individual that has decided to never allow the memory to die.

Some people only judge what they see. But there's so much more that happens behind the curtains.
That's why I don't see with my eyes. I see with my heart. Because the eyes will only see what's on stage. But the heart will see (or at least feel) what's going on behind the curtains
The eyes will judge, which brings resentment and separation. The heart will understand (or at least accept) everyone, which brings empathy and a sense of unity.
Like Brian Griffin once said, if people learned to celebrate their similarities rather than stand on their differences, the world would be a much better place.
