What's scary to me, is that you're filling out this application with no shortage of tension and concern, with 14 years of experience and the most successful business of its kind in the country by google's metrics... And for all intents and purposes, what you're applying for is what seems to be the new entry level in your industry outside of what the powers that be would like to consider the black market.
There's plenty to this on the 'this is just a publicity stunt' angle, but it's also demoralizing as all hell to anyone who's trying to get into a related field, as there exists to my eyes at least no way into this industry or most others that isn't either illegal, or at the very least going against the official grain.
I lost, it is what it is. Some in life are winners, some are losers. Try not to be a sore loser, being sore in the loss makes you less likely to win when you play the next round. Or, in some cases, too depressed to play the next round at all. Those people sometimes off themselves. I cannot overstate the importance of not being sore when you realize you've lost.
I am 14 years into this. Less is available now than when I started. I see where it's going. I lost.
I learned a lot during the past fourteen years. Next time around, playing the next game, I'll win.

I work in the medical tech field. they don't like you; they even mention you by name. it's trippy to hear sales rnd execs and tech support say that they own the tech and only they should have access to it. you have a lot of impact Louis you damn nerd, I'm rooting for you. i know people at Raytheon and john deere who think the same.
There is one caviat with medtech and that is that the product is certified by the company and they are responsible of the quality of the product and of course they feels a need of control. If some one can figure out how to get quality assurance with independent repair services I'd be fine...

Yep. Farm machinery is particularly bad for it. You can't just not plant or harvest for a month because the power supply for the tractor's data logging computer has popped caps and the only solution the dealership has is "just buy a new tractor".

That's why I fell for this prank. I do see Louis being forced into Apple's repair ecosystem.
I personally believe if Apple uses you guys as a repair center - the way you train and build staff - they would have a quality repair center and reputable staff that you have trained and know of personally. You yourself and the meticulous work you do would be an asset to any organization.
why would they need a repair center when they can sell you a new one at full price. Or make you swap for a refurbished one at 80% the price. We all know the independent repair program is a joke and only used by apple so they have something to point to when people start asking legislators to do something. Apple can then point at their joke program and say they have a program that enables independent repair.
The problem is they can't replicate it elsewhere. If one shop is way ahead of everyone else it makes the already bad looking program even worse
Louis' team wouldn't last 6-8 weeks doing MacBook repairs to Apple's standards. They'd be too ashamed of having to submit inferior work while maintaining a saccharin corporate facade.
The way they make money is to sell you a new one. If you think there's no alternative, you'll pay.

that wouldn't actually be possible, when you are in the apple program you have to submit request for the parts you need for that specific repair and somethings only apple will repair so you have to sendt them the device. that wouldn't really work with a fake store.

I heard that to be part of Apples right to repair system the company must earn, report a certain profit, thus no profit = no parts.
Spent years repairing Mac and other Apple products, and started running into the same thing a number of years ago. Wasn’t set up to handle some of the more technical stuff like you, and went another way business wise. It sucks to not be able to repair things.

I swear that Louis @rossmanngroup has grew up around a large number of people with a lot of western European culture as I see many comments genuinely think that Louis is being serious, but this is something that I think any Brit could look at and see he is joking. And when he put together that video the other week talking about how when he was in NY, the one thing he appreciated was the authenticity in that people will tell you to your face that they're gonna screw you over rather than be polite to your face and stab you when your back is turned everywhere else in the states. That authenticity is something that I always say (having lived in the states for a while myself) is the reason I'd prefer to live in a western European nation over the USA, just because I'd prefer to be around people that will tell you their genuine intentions and you can then decide the best approach of how to deal with that person.

What if you made a subsiduary and submit that to the irp program? You could still perform logic level repair without getting constantly fined, and for serialization you could just subcontract the subsiduary. Would that work?

As much experience as you have elbow-deep in laptops and cell phones, fixing problems that even Apple's engineers failed to deal, what would your thoughts be on selling your own electronic devices? I know that I would be happy to buy a Rossmann Group brand laptop and cell phone (wallet permitting).

You should look into building your own keyboard. Seems like your kinda thing. I personally went with glorious panda but if I had to build one today I’d probably go with Rama duck switches. Kbd fans is a good place to start :)

@@didnotwantthis I love "building" my own computers and tinkering with them, but keyboards? I've tried people's fancy 500$ keyboards. The only noticeable difference to my 10$ random no name one is that the cheapo keyboard is more comfortable to use, and unlike most custom keyboards, it's actually wireless.

@@rossmanngroup Yeah I know it’s not everybody’s thing but once you use a custom keyboard to your liking those prices for the parts seem to not be as steep as you once thought. I use a $10 keyboard for my server bc I’m too cheap to buy a kvm so I understand both perspectives I suppose lol.
Apples attitude to customers bringing in their laptops, phones etc only to be told by their "genius bar service techs", (very expensive to fix/can't be fixed, you're better off buying a new one) and their attitude to professional repair services who DO fix "non-repairable" apple hardware clearly highlighting apples blatant "genius bar repair" scam as well as the, "genuine identical phone parts" showing up as non-genuine are the reasons I will NEVER have anything to do with apple. Clearly, power, control and money means more to them than customer satisfaction.

Man I hate this so much and totally empathize with you. Currently in the building I work we have the apple of elevators. Only they are more unreliable and both are totally dead and unusable in 5 years. I am a building manager now trying to resolve it but out of the 8 elevator guys in our area only the company can work on it and they were coming once a week or more to "fix" it but never resolved a thing and now I get to try and find an alternative that won't absolutely rape us like they did
why would anyone buy apple ?
- it's extremely expensive
- you don't control your own device
- you must have an apple account to operate at a normal level
- your device will become obsolete in about 6 months (at least 2 devices per year, depending on the type)
- the device is so simple it's hard to use (one button for everything)

I remember Apple's over nannying on downloading apps they didn't approve of. I just said forget it at that point. This was YEARS ago, and the more I watch your channel, the less I regret my Android Only decision.
