Ashlotte is a bonus character designed by artist Ito Ōgure/ Oh! great (Tenjho Tenge, Air Gear, Majin Devil, Burn-Up W).
Ashlotte uses Astaroth's moveset.
I think the 5 Bonus Characters are canon.
The cult Fygul Cestemus was almost entirely destroyed during Astaroth's rampage of the temple. Many members of the cult were lost to the destruction and the leader Kunpaetku was also believed to have been defeated by Astaroth and also by Maxi. Two surviving priests devised a plan to get their revenge on Astaroth. They would create an automaton, a mechanical doll devoid of emotions and free will with only one task, to recover Astaroth's core, by any means necessary.
Stage 1: Arrival
-Rock (Astaroth was based on Rock, and Ashlotte's fighting style is copied from Astaroth)
-Cassandra
-Lizardman (Aeon Calcos)
Stage 2: Within the Turmoil
-Hilde (Leader of Wolfkrone, a nearby kingdom)
-Nightmare (The Wielder of Soul Edge)
-Siegfried (The Wielder of Soul Calibur)
Stage 3: The Deep (Bonus Character)
-Scheherazade (Once was in love with the founder of Wolfkrone)
Stage 4: Black Giant
-Ortlinde (Wolfkrone soldier who was defeated and malfested by Astaroth)
-Rossweisse (Wolfkrone soldier who was defeated and malfested by Astaroth)
-Astaroth (Servant of Soul Edge trying to steal it for himself. The 'Black Giant')
Stage 5: Algol
-Algol (Wielder of the power of Soul Edge and Soul Calibur)
Ashlotte is accompanied by Lizardman. Lizardman probably recognised Fygul Cestemus' work in action and decided to observe closely for any information.
The ending should fade to black and then show the text but for some reason, it doesn't. It can be interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes though
